I've noticed alot of "free clubs" being posted in Freebies lately -- you join a free mailing list, get free access to the website, free notification of specials, etc.

Is this really a freebie? Other than perhaps coupons (in which case the post should go in Coupons forum), there generally is no tangible freebie. There's probably a zillion free mailing lists a person could join and I'm not sure this kind of thing is really appropriate in Freebies. Sure, once in a while one of these might result in a freebie, but I think the deal should be posted AFTER that occurs, not just in hope it might occur sometime in the future.

What are others' thoughts on this?

Those offers are kind of a thin line. Some send you freebies on a routine bases, some will send offers to people on their lists, and some don't do crap. And to offer the promo after the freebie has arrived, well, it couldn't be too late to sign up by then. :dontknow:

I know one thing will happen, we will all have more e-mail to read. I cannot keep up as it is. I am actually using 1% of my gmail account! LOL!!!!!

IMHO - No. Not unless they send you something for free or give a serious discount code (in which case it should go into Coupons) or.. not unless access to the site would cost something without membership. I have posted a number of kids clubs offers myself but they SEND something tangible such as stickers, free tickets, t-shirts, or a gift on the kids birthday.

Aside from the clubs that provide free access to sites that are always free, there are way more junk postings we could list here but nothing will be done about. As long as some Users will thumbs up the Zip plus 4 search screen when it's posted or a site that will give them their horoscope - Junk will continue to be posted. You and me will just have to slog through them all. It's not too hard - the same Users are the ones that post the same types of stuff over and over. There's naught to be done about it my friend.
