I was told a long time ago that ANY coupon image was not permitted and so I started mod alerting them when I saw them. I'm not talking about a link to a manufactuerer's page where the coupon resides, I'm talking about users posting PDFs or GIFs of coupons they've downloaded or images of coupons they've scanned. A lot of times, they have figured a way to alter the expiration date or have reformattted the coupon so that more than one can be printed on a page. They then link to their image file page or add a PDF or GIF to their post so others can get the coupon without regiatering or going through the paces the manufacterer requires.
Whenever Mr. Slick Deals answers these mod alerts, he deletes them. With the other Mods it's a crapshoot.
Could you all maybe give us some guidleines on what Coupon images are OK and which ones aren't?
I think it's fair to say that scanned coupons are out at all times, right?
so how about:
1. PDFs or GIFs of coupons that permit users to skip registering to get them and thereby can print as many as they want? (In other words - cheat)
2. Links to image files created by the user that may or may not have altered the coupon to faciliate fraud?
These first two are the ones that are often permitted to stay up after mod alerting. If they are OK, I won't waste the Mods time anymore.
