Yes, I am purposely looking for one with a shattered or cracked screen yet still powers on so I can try to repair it myself (one man's trash is another man's treasure). I've been looking on craigslist and ebay but people don't understand the term depreciation apparently and still insist on charging 100-150+ dollars on a phone that is about a year old now and in damaged condition.
I'm looking in the neighborhood of 50-60 dollars. I'll continue to hound craigslist but if anyone knows where to find one please let me know. Looking for one that goes with t-mobile or is unlocked.
Thank you.

You will have a hard time finding such a deal. HTC features some very good phones. Many people, including you, are willing to repair a broken device. Thus, the demand is high and the price remains. For the budget of $50~$60, you might want to look for a less advance and less popular phone. I personally think HD2 is worth its price if you know how to load a different OS (ie: Android or Win7) and configure it.

the parts aside from the screen alone will run way more then $100 hence the pricing. its kind of like how people will still pay $20-40 for a red ringed 360, for the remaining parts.
