I had no idea where else to post this question. Sorry if it is in the wrong place.
How do you make a link say what a product is instead of the url address itself? For example, when I post to a thread and want to share a web site or a link, how do I get it to say "linky" instead of http://www.amazon.com/blahblahblah.etc??
Thanks
Also, I saw where someone said that they got repped 4+ by someone. How can you do that? Can you give someone more than one rep point during a rep session?
Thanks.
Just trying to learn and improve my skills and the site.

Your questions are in the right place, but usually searching for your answer will save you time and typing because often, it has already been asked and answered. :)

10 - 499 reps = 1 rep (If your reps are not gray.)**
500 - 999 reps = 2 reps
1000 - 1499 reps = 3 reps
1500+ reps = 4 reps
*Of course the number of posts and the amount of time you have been here can also increase your repping power (and yes, all these factors for reps are stackable  )
**Gray reps (they do not count towards the number of rep points) are for users who have under 50 posts.
So reps can be worth more than one depending on your time here/number of posts/number of reps
1. Reps by time here
Right now lolu13, your reps are worth 1 point. After you have been here more one year (but not two years) it will be worth two.
2. Reps by time here/number of reps
As of this moment, people who have reps that are worth 4 points are (assuming their reps are not gray ):
the moderators (http://forums.slickdeals.net/showgroups.php) of this site
people who have been here less than one year and have over 1500 reps
people who have been here over one year but not two years and have between 1000 - 1499 reps
people who have been here over two years but not three years and have between 500 - 999 reps
Another similar combination
3. [U]Reps by time here/number of posts/number of reps
IIRC for every 10,000 posts, you get an extra rep point as well
So for example:
A person who has been here over one year (but not 2 years), has over 10,000 posts, and has between 500 - 999 reps would also have the ability to give a 4 point rep.
Wasn't that easy to understand :D
