I think we should have a feature that when a deal post ends up with 2 thumbs down icons(5 negative votes I think) the post should be locked to further discussion...people continuing to explain why its such a crappy deal keep pushing the deal up higher on the list and they never go away...Ex. This thread (http://forums.slickdeals.net/showthread.php?sduid=51817&t=291595)
Good idea but it would need to be more than two thumbs down becuse some deals just get a bad wrap.

It would not work because what some consider a bad deal, others consider a good deal. Some members could also give thumbs down just because they don't like the poster or the product being posted, even though it could be a good deal. Even though it isn't the same, it was brought up when discussing making a dead deal forum, that once a deal gets a certain number of thumbs down that it would be moved to the dead deal forum. By doing this there could be a really good deal/price mistake that people would give thumbs down so a limited number of people could get in. The same thing could happen if someone sees a thread locked.

I have to agree. Let the people decide. If it's true crap, people will moan about for awhile, then let it fade when the next best deal comes along.
One man's trash is another man's slickdeal.

I posted a deal that got 2 thumbs down and then went to 2 thumbs up. You never can tell.
