Then we should just get rid of all avatars. Or at least any avatars featuring kissing, or anything that could be sexual. I agree with you. Ban it. Straight or gay. Do you really need two people making out in an avatar anyway?

Although the dancing penis avatar is funny (saw on another site), it's not really appropiate either.

Since this is a public forun (run by a private company) you're going to get people who will push the boundaries of common decency. "I want it so you will have to sit there and put up with it." Same kind of people who swear in front of kids "cause I have free speech". You also have no tact.

Slickdeals is a private run site, they can (I hope they will) ban anything they want to.

If you were browsing this site at work as part of your job, looking for a deal for some ink for you departmental printer and the division head or the HR rep came by and saw homosexual kissing on your screen, do you think it likely he or she would be more or less inclined to permit you to use this site?

The above situations do not mean that the FCC and corporate executives are homophobic, just realistic.
