Why do I get this?
trunderw, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:
1. Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
2. If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.
I'm not attempting to do #1, and I'm not trying to do #2. I'm simply trying to view a post... any ideas?

The post does not exist.

Meaning that between the time that the info was sent to my pc and the time I clicked on it, the post was deleted? That's weird because I've refreshed it and tried again and the post(s) still show there...

Sounds like a timing issue to me. Obviously the data is not there,
but the pointers in the index are still present.

huh, i guess the pointers must be cached somewhere, but when you actually request it, it finds that it's not there. that's fine, but it should invalidate the cached copy at that point so that it's not there next time i refresh.

Did you try to clear your own cache? It's not always automatically invalidated.

Why do I get this?
The thread that you are trying to access has been deleted for whatever reason and can only be viewed by moderators or admin.
Deleted thread examples: Self promo, questionable content, a personal attack, posting fraudulent coupon(s), etc
Do you have a link?

Ok if the thread has been deleted, then how about an error message that suggest something along those lines. This is the forum for suggestions right...
So I suggest that if I try to view a post that is deleted, tell me that, unless that isn't what's going on in this case.

the wording is confusing-- esp. at the end, but whenever you see that page from now on you know you are trying to access a deleted thread.
