Target.com has changed to the E-Centives coupon printing system where you have to download special software that keeps track of what you printed, like bricks coupons. Target coupons printed from sites such as RedPlum are also now individually encoded and can NOT be posted here as well. 1. Mark Down Schedule - Please note that the list may not be entirely accurate, as some stores have reportedly made changes to this schedule and other stores may be days (or weeks) behind schedule!

Monday - Electronics, Kids Clothing and Stationary (Cards, GiftWrap, etc.)

2. Holiday Clearance Schedule Please note that with the last few holidays, stores are not as rigid with this schedule and can be a day or two ahead or behind. Bagged holiday candy is slower to be marked down than other holiday merchandise.

50% off day after holiday for three days
75% off fourth day after holiday for three days
90% off seventh day after holiday for 1-2 days.

3. Target Price Adjustment Policy

Target price adjustments can be done for 14 days (excluding clearance). If you purchase an item and it goes on sale within the next 2 weeks, you can take your receipt to Customer Service for a price adjustment.

4. Target Rainchecks

If an item you want is out of stock, there should be a little tear off pad with rainchecks. You tear one off and take it to the cashier, tell them the quantity you want, and they will print a raincheck. Please note, current rainchecks do not have a barcode and when you go to use a raincheck, the cashier has to manually type it in rather than scanning a barcode.

5. Coupons Available at Target Computer Kiosks

Target.com has switched to using E-Centives coupon printable software that limits and tracks the number of coupons you print and Target coupons can no longer be printed at the in store kiosks because of this.


6. Missed Coupon Policy
There's no one answer as to the time frame a missed coupon can be taken off receipt... It depends on the store and the person at customer service. Some stores say till the end of the day. Some stores say 3 days. Some say 1 week. And some say until receipt is valid (90-days) Some don't care (so that would also mean 90-days).

7. Price Matching at Target

Target stores will now match prices of other stores with a physical ad of the competing store. 8. Out Of Stock Items

If an item is out of stock (OOS) on both the shelf and the backroom and needs to be ordered from the warehouse, there will be a small gray dot sticker on the shelf price tag of the item. If there is no gray dot on the shelf price tag, enter the DCPI number into an updated price check scanner to check back room stock of the item. If your store has the old style of scanners, ask a team member to check the stock of the item for you.

When sending a Team Member compliment and/or complaint, keep in mind that ETL's get share-pay bonuses, while Team Members don't. Stores are responsible for store-controlled things like clean restrooms and sales floors, carts and hand baskets available, response time to the jewelry and electronics counters and Guest call buttons, etc. Also, use a different E-mail/name each time, else after 2-3 complaints they just refer you to the Store Team Leader (STL).


Common Abbreviations & Acronyms Throughout the thread, you may find some abbreviations and acronyms that are confusing, as some are very specific to Target. Here are some of the most common you'll see mentioned repeatedly.

AC = After Coupon(s) (as in, "I used 4 MQs and 3 TQs, so my total AC was $1.23.")

Here's an important couple of tips.. :)

1) Target puts out their own coupons on their website. You can combine Target coupons and use them with manufacturer's coupons. So if you have a Target coupon for Heinz Ketchup for $1.00, and a manufacturer's coupon for Heinz Ketchup for $1.00 - you are allowed to use them both together and get $2.00 off your ketchup purchase. :) So check Target's website, I think they put up new coupons every other weekend.

2) You can also find Target coupons in the newspaper. If they aren't in your newspaper, check e*bay and coupon clipper sites - do a search for "Target coupons" and see what comes up. You can also combine these with manufacturer's coupons. Right now there are Target insert/newspaper coupons for $2.00 off Kotex items and there are manufacturer's coupons for $1.00 or $.50 off Kotex items. This makes some of the Kotex items FREE.

3) Check your coupons and make sure that they don't say "excludes trial items" on them. If they don't, you should be able to use them on trial items, potentially getting them FREE. (This varies from store to store, some stores will refuse you.) Not long ago, there were $1.00 Tide detergent coupons, and you could use them on the Tide trial sizes which were $1.00 = FREE Tide.

4) Keep your eyes open for coupons in the actual store. Sometimes Target will have tearpads, peelies, hangtags, etc, that are Target coupons. Again, you can combine them with your manufacturer coupons. Right now there are $1.00 Target Ziplock coupons attached to some Ziplock items in the store + $1.00 Ziplock manufacterer coupons = some pretty cheap darn Ziplock stuff..

5) Watch the Target ads for gift card deals. These are AWESOME. Combined with coupons, sometimes Target will pay YOU to take items off their hands. The last major one I remember was the Venus or Fusion razors.. it was buy two, get a $5 or $10 gift card, I can't remember which. And there were $4 coupons available to use on the razors. Buy two razors, use two $4 coupons and get handed a gift card back.. good deal. :woot: There's also a Sobe gift card deal coming up, making the Sobe free using coupons.

6) Keep your eyes open for coupons that say "buy x product, get y product free." Then combine those with other coupons. Example: I had coupons for $1.00 off Chinet plates. I also had coupons for FREE Heinz ketchup when you buy Chinet plates. I ALSO had $3 off $15 partyware purchase Target coupon. Combine all those, and I now live in a Chinet fort and take baths in ketchup. :D My skin has never looked so smooth (and tomatoey) and my utility bills have never been so high. (I'm kidding, I'm kidding.. :lol:)

Do you mean the clearance toddler bedding? I've been finding it on endcaps near the bedding area and also over by the bathroom stuff.

Saw a few Cars 2 and Toy Story 3 Lego sets. Most were either at 15% or 30% off.
However, I did find the following sets for 50% off.

As an artist I use a lot of Sharpies. You can EXTEND the life of sharpies by this:
When you open them keep them in a ziploc type bag(the ones that have the little thingy that zips are best, or an old diaper wipe container that snaps shut.(the refillable kind)
If you won't be using them for a long time put them in the fridge, when you are ready to use them, leave them out at room temp for an hour or so...
I have had sharpies in packages (especially the kind that click like a pen) unopened for 4 years and they still work
Sharpies were out in Fayetteville NC store.
They have cracked down on couponers.

Searched this thread but did not see this listed, sorry if it is a repeat. Went to my T (Oxford, AL) today and found the bonus size Country Time lemonade mix on clearance for 45 cents (75 % off). They were not marked with the usual red stickers and were on an end cap near the summer stuff. Did not know they were marked down as the shelf signs said $2. I put one in my cart and went on my way. After checking out I discovered the price and went back for more. I did not have the TQ for $1/2 or I could have gotten them for free.

My hubby gave up sodas a few years back after having a couple bouts with kidney stones in a short time frame. He only drinks water, lemonade and gatorade now.

They had both the regular and pink. The DCPI for the regular is 203130235.

The little one is sooooo handy. We picked up one at CVS at 75% off last year. It has been a life saver as we have been using it for carrying around DD's bottles with milk and formula.

I don't believe Xhilaration makes toddler bedding...the toddler bedding I've seen on clearance is Circo brand, and the way the post reads is that the bedding was found near bathroom items and they used the $10 TQ on it, which sounds an awful lot like using the bathroom TQ on a bedding item simply because it was on an endcap in the bathroom department....maybe the poster can clarify their post if that assumption is incorrect.

Went to my usually coupon friendly Target.... was scrutinized on a couple of coupons. I asked if they were cracking down? The cashier said that someone was using crest white strip coupons on crest toothpaste, and that the coupon shows are drawing lots of couponers. UGH!!!! There goes the coupon friendly Target I once loved :(

I have never had problems before in my coupon friendly store...that is before today. I was using 2-4 like tqs coupons and an LOD came over to watch my cashier check me out. Then stopped her saying that she was sure that each Target coupon printed with an individual number and that you could only print two coupons from the Target website....implying that my coupons were copies. I explained that you could print two coupons per computer and I had three computers in my house and then my work computer. I also explained that Target coupons did not have a distinct number for each coupon printed that I was aware of and she called the manager over to confirm it with him. He didn't know, but told her to accept the coupons and he would look into it. Took me over 20 minutes to check out. Very frustrating. I have never had a problem before and I have been couponing there for years, but according to the manager, they have been having problems with some couponers clearing shelves and they want to be fair to all their customers. I will be glad when people move on to the next new fad.

On a deal note, I don't know if it has been mentioned, but I received a cat for a free Wonka chocolate bar. When I used it, another cat printed out for a free Wonka bar. Redeemed it at another Target and got another one. Love free chocolate. :woot:

It was a busy day helping DS (who just graduated from college) pack, and move stuff back to our house. He started a great new accounting auditor job and has decided to move home to save money to buy a house. I am glad because my youngest son is moving to Colorado to finish up his civil engineering degree. So we get to put off the empty nest syndrome for a little while. Woohoo!


On topic (so I don't get sent into the corner ;)), went to do one last minute run Friday night before the bathroom coupon expired. Had 4 sharpies, 4 Scotch tape, 3 packages of Hanes undershirts, 4 Angus hot dogs, 1 towel bar, and 1 towel ring. Started handing over my coupons one by one, and the cashier stops and says she can only take one like TQ coupon per item. I said when did that start because I have always been able to do 4 in a transaction. Apparently there was a meeting about "coupons" and they all got in trouble for taking too many coupons. Especially the bathroom coupon. One of the cashiers that day had apparently be singled out for taking 15 bathroom coupons in one order on only towels :eek: HELLO! WTH are these people thinking??? Unfortunately, it is really starting to change around here too.

Glad to hear that. I tried the clipper/tweezer combo again today and got nothing.. Hopefully I will get cats when I go in next week.

Sadly it sounds like alot of us are going though the same thing with changes in our target store due to coupon abuse, shelf clearing and just plain greed! I hope these new couponers realize that there just making it impossible to keep those great deals from happening in the future by abusing deals now. I agree with everyone who said they hope this couponing fad passes quickly!! I do know alot of people who will say they just don't have the patience to coupon, but I also know a few others who have started and are loving it.
I think all stores are going to go to one TQ per item if they haven't already, can't say I blame them (yeah it sucks ) because of people like that crazy binder women who dumped that whole bin of sharpie's in her cart, like my cashier said if someone gets 2 or 3 of an item its not a big deal but over 100 they have to nip that in the bud.

Just wished I printed another TQ while they were still around. BWT, I think Bocce Ball is really fun, and you don't have to be pretty, coordinated or popular to play it. The Toddler bedding is endcaps and if your in Whittier they had em for 7.48. And NO NO the Q I used was $5 bedding Q, the Toddler sets are Bedding items so hence why I used that Q. Q beeped and this store did not agree I had bought the correct item and I did not buy. This was the boy toddler set. Clearance is still 50% off here in CA.

Instead of visiting my usual Target today I decided to go to the one in Davie. Here were my findings:

Toys were marked down at 15% and 30%. I did manage to pick up a Thomas & Friends Sketch Pad for $4.48 (086-00-2721). I think this item has been mentioned here already but just in case. :D

Summer Items were marked down 50% The cooler that has been mentioned here was marked $9.98. :( Hoping to see another price drop on this soon.

I could not find any of those $2.50 pillows. Cheapest ones were $4.04. :(

Sharpies were OOS in the Back to School section but luckily I found a few in the Office Supply area.
Picked up the tape as well. Each were $1 so after the coupons, they were free! :D

My store in Fl has had mens and womens jeans 75% off for over a week now but when I drive to Target in the next town theirs are still only 50%. I like the mens $4.98 so only $1.98 after TQ but I agree the womens are too trendy, they have skinny or boot cut written inside waist band. DD could not even begin to wear them.

If the seasonal was marked at 70%, will it go to 90% as the next step or 80%? And if it gets marked to 80%, will it eventually go to 90% if there is anything left, or does it now stop at 80%?

Venice Fl Target 75% Summer, signs still say 50%.Picked up another Sierra mist before I realized sale was over, even with TQ $1 off $4.89 is not a good deal. i put it back. The red and blue Sunbeam blenders were $3.99 each, great for Xmas gifts. Chalk was 19 cents a tub, pinwheel/big was 40 cents. Fruit snacks went down to 50 cents a box so free after TQ, Thx OP of that post:)

I saw a post earlier that they were part of it, someone posted a picture, I will have to go see if I can find it. The package says Summer fruit mix on it. Mine were .62 a box reg price 2.49.

there is a light blue band across the top of the box where the date is that says *summer xxxxx xxxxx*. the reg boxes have a darker blue band and do not have the word *summer* at least the reg ice pop boxes are like this.

I don't think anyone really knows this question. Target used to be somewhat predictable and they would go 30%, 50%, 75%, and then 90%. Now stores are all over the place. Some 70%, some 75%, some 80%. I'm going to guess that the stores that went to 75% will still see 90%. We won't know about the other stores until someone reports back.

My store has a pricecheck machine right next to the pillows, so I was just walking back and forth checking pillows 'til I found them. Used the $2 TQ, sailed through.

Found that the Kandoo wipes price has increased from $1.42 to $1.49, used the $1/1 coupon that I'd gotten in a mailer yesterday, so final price $0.49.

Found summer fruit snacks today - they were right on the main aisle which is funny since I looked for them yesterday and couldn't find them. My store was at 70% - tons of blenders and ice cream makers not much other "good stuff" found a bunch of the disposable cups (w/the red and blue stripes) mixed in on the regular aisle at 2 different stores. No coolers anywhere - booo as this is the one thing I actually NEED - figures!

Sadly it sounds like alot of us are going though the same thing with changes in our target store due to coupon abuse, shelf clearing and just plain greed! I hope these new couponers realize that there just making it impossible to keep those great deals from happening in the future by abusing deals now. I agree with everyone who said they hope this couponing fad passes quickly!! I do know alot of people who will say they just don't have the patience to coupon, but I also know a few others who have started and are loving it.
I think all stores are going to go to one TQ per item if they haven't already, can't say I blame them (yeah it sucks ) because of people like that crazy binder women who dumped that whole bin of sharpie's in her cart, like my cashier said if someone gets 2 or 3 of an item its not a big deal but over 100 they have to nip that in the bud.

Our area Target is only Pfresh. The cashier called the Mgr to 'help' with my coupons (and I didn't have that many) all had to be rung up seperately 'per transaction' and it was a pain. They were not friendly but not overtly mean, and mentioned again the Extreme Couponing show, fraud and changes in the way they will accept coupons, how many etc. and they are upgrading their 'system', whatever that means. I got a couple pillows and some pens a few other items I didn't have a coupon for but wanted (love the baking soda fridge things that suction to the wall of fridge 1.97 and got 4)

Wanted to mention that the snow cone maker was pretty nice. Older versions had you freeze water in the ONE little container they supplied. Although it did shave cubes ok.

The machine this time around has an opening for ice, any shape that fits, and spits it out the front. I like it better.

I did find this for $2 last year, though I highly doubt the summer stuff will make it to 90%. I tried asking a team member and she said that she didn't think they would go lower. This may just be that one store.

there is a light blue band across the top of the box where the date is that says *summer xxxxx xxxxx*. the reg boxes have a darker blue band and do not have the word *summer* at least the reg ice pop boxes are like this.

Stopped at a few T yesterday on the way home from a trip and didnt find any fruit snacks, was kinda bummed. Have to keep a look out for those coolers, did not notice them in the summer section, also has the men's levi's jeans gone below $9.98? They have been this price for 3 weeks or so, been hoping they dropped again since I now have the denim coupon.
I have been finding levis at 2 different price points.. The 9.98 ones are 50% off and are regular levis.. Mostly, I have found these folded, but sometimes hanging..

The cheaper ones are ringing 6.xx for me. They are 75% off but sell for a higher price originally and are the levis "authentics" These have all been hanging and just mixed in on the racks with the other clearance ones..

This has been the case at all 3 targets I visit. HTH!

I noticed in some of my stores just a few miles apart (Pittsburgh, PA) the clearances have been going to 70% instead of 75% (like summer and kid's shoes).

If the seasonal was marked at 70%, will it go to 90% as the next step or 80%? And if it gets marked to 80%, will it eventually go to 90% if there is anything left, or does it now stop at 80%?

It is odd actually.. My ST has always followed the standard here 15%, 30%, 50%, 75%, and 90% for holiday.. I have noticed the regular targets around here now doing the 70% rather than 75% off, but not the ST..
Anyway, went to ST this morning, and the summer holiday went straight from 50 to 80% this morning.. I was suprised, but pleased. I personally doubt it will go 90, but no one knows for sure since this is a new thing.

Noticed at a couple Targets yesterday that the clearanced jeans in the childrens/baby sections were on the shelves and not on the clearance racks, strange.

Dropped by my store just to check summer prices.. was shocked that they were at 80%.. .. Made the fruit snacks the perfect price of .50 each.. so totally free with the 1.00/2 TQ :woot: :woot:

There was hardly anything left except an entire shelf of the fruit snacks because they weren't marked.. As I was grabbing a few, a man comes and asks me if they are marked down too and I nodded and when he found out the price, he started loading his wife's cart. He asked me kinda rudely how many I was gonna get and I felt kinda bad at first saying I was getting 8.. I only had 4 coupons with me.. But anyway, I grabbed my 8 boxes and he proceeded to fill their cart. Their son asked if he was gonna get them all and the mom said no, but the dad said yes, we are taking them all.. Kinda aggravated me, so I had DH go grab me 2 more boxes.. There were atleast 30 boxes left after I got mine. We went and scanned a few things, and when we walked back by, the whole shelf was gone :eek:

Anyway, no need to hit that store again cause it will be empty of summer stuff. I checked out with my 10 boxes and paid 1.08 and left :)

I did scan the summer chips ahoy cookies and they scanned full price.

Dh has an Acer netbook we bought last fall and the benchmark speed is a good bit faster than the processor in the netbook. 319 for the netbook, 449 for the processor in computer from this week's ad. He's just getting around to setting it up but I will let you know when he has actually used it. :D

I don't think anyone really knows this question. Target used to be somewhat predictable and they would go 30%, 50%, 75%, and then 90%. Now stores are all over the place. Some 70%, some 75%, some 80%. I'm going to guess that the stores that went to 75% will still see 90%. We won't know about the other stores until someone reports back.

As with all things Target, as soon as you think you have it figured out, they change the rules on ya.

I don't know how much this helps, but our store went to 70% off with the Valentine's stuff instead of 75%. Then it went to 90% off when most of the other stores did. We got 75% off with the summer stuff. There has been an ok selection of stuff. I grabbed the things I really wanted at 50% off because the good stuff doesn't last here--especially if it's over a weekend. I think the only reason there is as much left as there is is they never put signs up for 30% off and the signs still said 50% off today.

How to make the Target DPCI checker work:

Go here: http://sites.target.com/site/en/s...toreNumber
Take out the "001-01-0011" section in the address bar and add in your own DPCI with dashes
While in the address bar, press Enter so it registers that you've changed the address
On the website, type in your Zip Code and click "Go"

Was it a manufacturer coupon or Target coupon? The system only allows one manufacturer coupon to be done as a missed coupon, at one time. If it's a Target coupon, the store might be holding to the one tq per transaction.

There was hardly anything left except an entire shelf of the fruit snacks because they weren't marked.. As I was grabbing a few, a man comes and asks me if they are marked down too and I nodded and when he found out the price, he started loading his wife's cart. He asked me kinda rudely how many I was gonna get and I felt kinda bad at first saying I was getting 8.. I only had 4 coupons with me.. But anyway, I grabbed my 8 boxes and he proceeded to fill their cart. Their son asked if he was gonna get them all and the mom said no, but the dad said yes, we are taking them all.. Kinda aggravated me, so I had DH go grab me 2 more boxes.. There were atleast 30 boxes left after I got mine. We went and scanned a few things, and when we walked back by, the whole shelf was gone :eek:

Glad to see so many of you still finding them. I bought some at 50% cause I knew that they would be gone (and they have been for days). My store had them very prominently displayed as included in the sale-such a bummer when they don't camoflauge things for me!

I have been finding levis at 2 different price points.. The 9.98 ones are 50% off and are regular levis.. Mostly, I have found these folded, but sometimes hanging..

1. I think the main reason it is important is to keep the threads "lean". It helps keep the threads on track, so we don't get multiple posts of people posting "thanks" and/or "repped" ~ you can thank the poster as well as write a nice message to the poster who helped you.

2. Also, SDs gives away prizes almost daily and you get extra entries with every 100 reps that you have accumulated -- up to 2,000 reps, so it is helpful in that regard too..

3. And as shatterXXdream wrote - it helps to have more reps for trading purposes.. Also, some people do not RAOK to people with limited posts and limited rep points.

Question about Overage. I know that the Target policy says that they will mark down the coupon but is that true? Does that only apply to you if you are buying one item so that you don't get cash back? I have been buying .97 items with 1.00 manuf. coupons and they haven't marked them down.
Is it no overage with Target coupons only or something? I am confused this week regarding the Scotch tape.

Yes, it is the pink, purple, and green BTS tape. They K1'd my MQ and I got .50 overage, but I didn't try the TQ in addition. I'm just loving the free tape.

On a side note, thanks to the OP of the summer clearance lemonade-will find and rep. At my store the regular Country Time lemonade was regular price in the clearance section, but the bonus size with 4 quarts free were the summer clearance price. TQ for $1/2 attached beep free. I hope the manager was mistaken and that this isn't the new policy at this store cuz that is ridiculous and would completely suck!! Yes, they do say summer. I found small bowls (4 per package). The package is yellow and green and the bowls have a border with crabs, sailboats, anchor, lighthouse. The large bowls (3 per package) are yellow and red, and the bowls have different color stripes. The bags say "New" 2 in 1 Freezer/storage, 36 gallon size bags. The bags themselves also has a nautical theme design. HTH.

I haven't had any problem with the MQ being accepted, even tho it's a beeper, but since the ad picture matches the picture on the coupon it might be helpful if anyone does have beeping acceptance issues to show that it's the correct product. :wave: It's also the same picture as the one on the TQ

I agree, I have no real problems as of yet at my store-and don't want any, but they allow most everything within reason. I don't see why scrapgirl should be labeled a shelfish pig either-that's harsh. The only thing I sort of shudder at about her transaction is the .37 OOP, which I would never do as it's way too low, IMO

Was it the low OOP that upset you?:hug: I didn't see coupon fraud in the transaction posted. I have experienced that some cashiers will only allow 1 like TQ per transaction and most cashiers don't care how many are used. With the cost of gas being so high, I don't see the transaction as unreasonable and I certainly wouldn't waste gas to get only 1 of each of the items mentioned. :)

Today I got a coupon for $5 off school supplies purchase of $25 or more.:( That when I am almost done with the school supplies purchase for my kids.Let me know if anyone wants it. GONE

Back on topic, I was happy to see that my T still had tape and Bic pens in stock. I also grabbed more Revlon tools for free with previous CAT and got more Revlon CATs :bounce:

Summer clearance was marked at 70% , finally, but there was literally not even 1/4 of an aisle of stuff left.

All the stores seem to be leaning towards the one T coupon per purchase and it really doesn't work well when you need to purchase multiple items to do a gc deal or use a mq. :( I've had a few stores tell me they think it will soon be enforced.

One mq I haven't run into yet! It will really limit the stores that are worth the time and gas to visit. :( I've had total jedi's for the last few weeks, with the exception of 1 store so I shouldn't complain, but Mom and I did have to split up our furnishing purchases, instead of ringing our orders up together. No big deal, but it really does sound like they are working on yet another revision to the coupon policy. :( The 2 stores that had us split up our orders didn't care about 2 Sharpies or 2 peroxides, 2 Wet Ones, but wouldn't do it for the furnishings, as they said there had been a lot of mention of coupons in memos and they wanted to be sure they could explain themselves. We also experienced the LOD coming over in a few stores over the past month when they saw more than a couple of coupons, but there weren't any problems or issues or debates/conventions. I think, from my business perspective, they want to see what the people in particular stores are purchasing with the coupons and reporting back to SM's. :) This is just my opinion, but I think they want to know what specific stores have problems with people using 40 furnishing coupons, using coupons for the wrong items, photocopied coupons, etc......By an LOD coming over and observing they can halt a problem on the spot. In our case, this happened several times in different stores and they were very polite and professional and other than the times we split our furnishing items, not a word was said about anything dealing with coupons. :) No accusations or rude remarks about ECers or anything. :)

Compared to WM, T has been totally refreshing lately. :) Summer was still 50% at the 5 stores I visted Fri. and Sat.. I really wanted the Summer bags and containers, but there weren't any to be found. I did find 4 cling wraps at the final store last night and some nice Smith & Hawken garden boots for 75% off. :)

Personally, I don't think calling people on the board is going to help anything. I don't think 8 tapes, if you have an office or kids in school is extreme. I think people who use 30 furnishing coupons in one transaction and use the said coupon for something clearly not for use in the bathroom should be ignored or mod alerted or something! The TQs CLEARLY state ONE coupon per transaction. That is the Qs terms. Using more than one per transaction IS coupon fraud!! If a Target store lets you use more great! DON'T abuse that kindness by using 6 or 8;especially to get freebies!! Use a REASONABLE amount 2, maybe 3. Do you know why?? Because when Target sees we can't be trusted to behave ourselves in a reasonable manner, they will and DO set policies that limit EVERYONE!!! And, no, Target does not encourage shopping trips where they're barely being paid sales tax. Qs are loss-leaders to get you into the store and purchase other things at full price. I know we don't all shop that way, but that's their main purpose. Even a free Q is usually to get you to try a product, not stock up for the next 2 years or resell for a profit. Many of the Targets I've been to lately have said that they are cracking down on coupons because of abuse. I consider what scrapgirl did as coupon abuse. There is nothing in that couponing transaction that would qualify as "wrong" or "fraudulant". Poster did a great job using coupons to work for her. Times are tight all over.

I understand you are upset that your Target is limiting to 1 mfq per transaction. I would be too, believe me!! That is ridiculous!

My stores prefer to ring up multiples in 1 transaction, rather than individual transactions (which would abide by the coupon rules). If you believe using more than 1 is fraud, then your 'reasonable' amount of 2 or 3 is fraud as well.

I checked out one time and a GSTL checked me out. He actually asked why I was only using 1 TQ because it was such a great deal and they like TQs because it boosts sales. Since so many TQs have a corresponding MQ, they're not really losing money. And even with the bathroom TQ, most people will buy other items and possibly without a coupon. Target is doing just fine. Perhaps you need to have a conversation with your manager and find out the reason for the limits at your store.

I'm sorry you're so upset and/or bitter, but it's not fair to judge any of us on here for our shopping habits when you have no idea how our stores are or how our other transactions are.

Target is the only reason you can't use more coupons, so target is the only thing you should blame. Either shop somewhere else if you don't like their new terms, or accept it and abide by their rules without trying to blame complete strangers on the internet.

I have a small town Target and I hardly ever see people using coupons. I don't run to every deal posted unless it is kid related, but have never seen low supplies ofngood deals.. Anyway, I have found it quite enlightening how many people I have seen this week with the purple wrap pillow in their cart. Maybe more people use Target coupons than I thought.

Just wanted to add in response to the various limit posts above, I am happy my fellow shoppers at my T are not stockpiling or if they are, they are very discreet about it ;)

Sorry for those of you with harder Target policies.

Clearance was 75% here and marked. So sad because last year everything went to 90%, as my Target forgot to mark it at all:bounce: I still have tons of Napkins and Glad stuff.

Coolers were basically sold out. They had different colors that were full price of what people had posted. Make sure you look up at the top of the isle where coolers are (above the shelves).

The TQs CLEARLY state ONE coupon per transaction. That is the Qs terms. Using more than one per transaction IS coupon fraud!! If a Target store lets you use more great! DON'T abuse that kindness by using 6 or 8;especially to get freebies!! Use a REASONABLE amount 2, maybe 3. *snip*

The coupon does say one per transaction, but it's Target terms for them to enforce or ignore. My Target has told me that they love getting the TQs, within reason, as they are reimbursed from Corporate and it's helping the store's bottomline in this economy It's unfortunate that some employees make up rules and things change every time some people visit and use coupons, and that show has given coupon newbies the wrong idea and I'm sure we'll all continue to pay the price for it...but your anger should have been tempered, IMO, for calling anyone a selfish pig over 8 coupons is harsh.

Question about Overage. I know that the Target policy says that they will mark down the coupon but is that true? Does that only apply to you if you are buying one item so that you don't get cash back? I have been buying .97 items with 1.00 manuf. coupons and they haven't marked them down.
Is it no overage with Target coupons only or something? I am confused this week regarding the Scotch tape.

the coupon policy is to adjust mq and/or tq down to the price of the item. if you are in a tax b4 mq state, you will want them to adjust the mq down on taxable items to lower your tax liability instead of the tq. many times the policy is not enforced, but they can do so at any time. the bottom line is that shopping is ymmv, you may or may not get overage, lucky if you do, nothing to argue about if you do not. same goes w/ the 1 tq per transaction. great if they don't limit you but nothing to argue about if they do. so don't abuse it so they perceive it as taking advantage and do start limiting.



So, now my rant....lol.... Can Target really do that? Are they ALLOWED to limit use of MANUFACTURE COUPONS???? REALLY????? That, imo, is ridiculous!!!! They are manufacture coupons!! They are not Target's coupons, consumers should be allowed to use as many as the manufacturer's allow. No questions. Is it really legal for them to do that??? Maybe the stores or cashiers are misinterpreting the coupon policy, and perhaps the intent of the store was to limit Target coupons in some way, but not mfq's? This is my only thought on the topic.....other than, That is a horrible way for a retailer to treat a customer. Who goes in, to purchase items, legitimately with legitimate mf coupons, which the stores WILL be reimbursed for. Why would they do that??? :( & :mad:

Anyway, maybe corporate could talk with the individual store and straighten it out :)

uh, target can do anything it wants. it's their prerogative and it's totally legal. they don't have to take coupons at all. dollar tree and big lots do not accept mq's at all. many stores do not accept internet coupons for free items. many supermarkets limit to 2, 3 or 4 mq's. it's their house so what they say, goes. why would you think anything different?

While I do not see any fraud involved and do not agree with name calling, I feel (personal opinion) that there must be something you could buy for $4.97 or $3.78 to make it not so obvious that you have played the system.

Because when Target sees we can't be trusted to behave ourselves in a reasonable manner, they will and DO set policies that limit EVERYONE!!! And, no, Target does not encourage shopping trips where they're barely being paid sales tax. Qs are loss-leaders to get you into the store and purchase other things at full price. I know we don't all shop that way, but that's their main purpose. Even a free Q is usually to get you to try a product, not stock up for the next 2 years or resell for a profit. Wow. Got some hot tempers in here tonight. :eek: I agree a lot with what Lachie said. They're Target coupons so it's up to Target what they'll allow, no fraud done. Personally I feel that 4 per transaction should be the cap for every shopper, but 8 just means you have 4 computers which I'm betting many in America have: 2 desktops, a laptop, and a netbook **hugs Acer**. We also shouldn't jump to conclusions because the OP never mentioned how many transactions they did. And I too agree that minimal amount of out of pocket is silly and causes unwanted attention, but we all have to live our lives to the best of our ability and that's all we can do.

Was it the low OOP that upset you?:hug: I didn't see coupon fraud in the transaction posted. I have experienced that some cashiers will only allow 1 like TQ per transaction and most cashiers don't care how many are used. With the cost of gas being so high, I don't see the transaction as unreasonable and I certainly wouldn't waste gas to get only 1 of each of the items mentioned. :)

I agree.. not worth my gas to get one of each.. If they want me to do one per transaction, I will gladly split them up into multiples.. but every time I have ever offered it, cashier always wants them rang together.

I don't seen fraud either and name calling is not correct or nice.. I don't think poster did anything wrong, but I do usually add something to my total so that it isn't super low as well. I add a target GC almost every shopping trip cause I don't like low oop..

Today, however, I checked out with the LOD with my 10 boxes of fruit snacks and 4 coupons and left paying 1.08 oop.. She just told me what a great deal it was..
Guess my 4 kids will be greedy pigs eating those 10 boxes up :teehee:

I believe an apology is in order and it does not matter the out of pocket, a person has. Everyone shares their "good target runs" or searches here for the deals, that they hope to take advantage of. I always laugh when I see the belly aching of people that have posted their own transactions in the past, that could be questioned, by another target shopper..Just chill and on to the next deal...

Also found one of the yellow coolers, fiance was asking what I was getting if for my reply "it's $5" will be a perfect tailgating cooler. Pillows are hit and miss. I have a question for you long timers, do you print every coupon that ends up on T's website just in case you will use them or a deal comes up before they disappear? We had this debate today.

There is nothing fraudulent about what she did and it is up to the individual store to limit the TQs. Saying that using more than one TQ per transaction is fraud would mean that 99% of this board have commited fraud. Calm down!!

It's interesting that people don't speak up until it affects THEM... My local Target started cracking down on coupons about a month ago, and a week ago I was told one transaction, per person, per day. This is so ridiculous. Are they going to start stamping hands when you check out, so they will know if you have already been there that day??? Do you think Walmart cares if I come in once or seven times in a day? It's not worth my time or gas to go to Target to use one coupon. I'll price match to Walmart and use as many coupons as I want. I stopped shopping at Target a couple years ago due to how they were targeting couponers, and it looks like that is where I am heading again. Will this put them out of business? No. Do they care? No. But it's not worth my health and dealing with the anxiety and stress to deal with coupon Nazis.

FYI (in general) there is a link for a stock locator in the wiki of the thread. Also, some people are finding that the computer they purchase has a 320 gb hard drive. The ones in store around here were the advertised 250 gb hard drive but it's a nice bonus for those that find it.

I print everything in b&w, except for IPs that are for a free item or the legit MQ PDFs. That seems to have cut down on many problems for me.

My guy and I just recently got a laser printer :bounce: and there's not even an option inside the machine for a color cartridge. :shake: There are home printers out there that only have black available. I used to get hassled at Safeway about b&w coupons when I had my inkjet, but I just explained to the wretched woman that colored ink cartridges were too expensive and would she kindly like to buy them for me? lol. I think it shut her up. :lol:

Are you concerned that someone might think they are photocopied? I print Target Q's using exclusively B&W laser printers in Draft/Toner Save mode, and not once has a cashier batted an eyelash.

Wow, really? Calm down a bit. That person you quoted was by no means committing any sort of fraud or using excessive coupons.

I get you are talking about people committing fraud in general, too, but to me it seems like you are targeting (no pun intended) that poster.

Target has it's ups and downs. You can get by with using multiple tq's at one target one morning and be shot down that afternoon at the same target by a different cashier.

Every cashier is different. And every couponer is different. Who knows how big her family is- 8 may be a reasonable family amount for her.

I've been posting on SD's target thread for the past 4 or 5 years. You wouldn't believe some of the things I've seen posted. 8 tq's used legitimately does not fraud make.

today I missed out on the summer clearance, I went when the store near me was just closing ,so ran to the back of the store to check if any summer stuff left to my surprise the reds were bring cart loads of toys from the back room with clearance stickers on them.the lady announced the store was closing in 5 mins. The red who was bringing the toy carts out told me I could come tomorrow early for the toy sale since they were marking several toys 75% off.hth

I went to 3 stores today. Summer was 75% off at all 3 and pretty well picked over. Toys were 50% off but very well stocked. My stores had Dove Men's body wash on clearance... I believe there was a tq (dh prefers axe so I lost track on this one ;) ). My favorite deal you might be interested in was a 2200 series Food Saver for $40.xx. This was marked at 50% off and indeed another T had them for $84.99. I was going to joke that I tried to use the bathroom tq, but now I'm too scared of flamage. Lol.

I also snagged some of the Hormel porkchops with a $2.00 off q attached. They were due today, but that's what the food saver was for!!

Wish I could have found a cooler. DD and I scanned everything they had and they were all full price.

It doesn't sound like a heartfelt apology to me, as it's followed with justifications. You singled someone out, in quotes, who I don't believe did anything wrong. You think it's wrong to use more than 1 TQ in a transaction so you shouldn't have any problems shopping at T. You said your store limited you to 1 like MQ, so ask for the SM or pick up a red phone or your cell phone and call corporate or pull out the coupon policy. As of yesterday, there was no revision about MQ's in the policy which is why it, in my opinion, would have been your best defense. It's not an individual store's decision on the coupon policy and they are to follow the corporate policy, it's not WM. ;) I can't imagine any store limiting MQ's to 1 per transaction, unless it is expressly printed on the coupon.

Confession; I've used more than 1 like T q in the same transaction! :nod: I used 2 Wet One .50 T q's and I don't feel I committed fraud.:shake: There was nothing wrong with the 8 rolls of tape, that the original poster purchased. Most stores are fine with multiple like T q's in a transaction. With the exception of the furn. q, my mom and I combine our orders 99% of the time! :omg: We combined our Wet Ones, with 4, yes 4, like T q's and the register didn't freeze or pop -up a message. The day may be coming soon that only 1 like T q can be used in a transaction, thanks to folks abusing them in great quantity or purchasing items not included, such as the child in the tub, but it is not the poster's 8 rolls of Scotch tape that T is concerned about, I say that with great confidence. It's the folks with 20 pillows, 20 furn. items, all heaped up in thier carts. In all the stores I've been to I haven't seen 1 2.50 pillow. I saw another crazy shopper the other day. She had sheets and sheets of unclipped T q's and a cart full of everything and that's how they were presented at the check-out. I didn't stick around for that one, but I bet it involved a cash register convention. That's not what T wants to see.

The TQs CLEARLY state ONE coupon per transaction. That is the Qs terms. Using more than one per transaction IS coupon fraud!! If a Target store lets you use more great! DON'T abuse that kindness by using 6 or 8;especially to get freebies!! Use a REASONABLE amount 2, maybe 3. Do you know why?? Because when Target sees we can't be trusted to behave ourselves in a reasonable manner, they will and DO set policies that limit EVERYONE!!! And, no, Target does not encourage shopping trips where they're barely being paid sales tax. Qs are loss-leaders to get you into the store and purchase other things at full price. I know we don't all shop that way, but that's their main purpose. Even a free Q is usually to get you to try a product, not stock up for the next 2 years or resell for a profit. Many of the Targets I've been to lately have said that they are cracking down on coupons because of abuse. I consider what scrapgirl did as coupon abuse. You may not agree because you behave the same way, but I think Target would agree with me. And I have NO idea where scrapgirl lives, nor do I care. Her behavior still is effecting me, and yes that makes me angry. Along with the people using the $5.-/$19.99+ Qs on clearance purses to get them for $1.xx. Just because you CAN get away with something doesn't mean you should.

1. It's not fraud. A transaction is a purchase of an item, not a checkout session. It means you can't use two Q's on one item (IE, one transaction). I don't see where fraud enters in, it's not fraud unless you are misrepresenting what you are buying.
2. Saying Target sets coupon policy nationwide based on particular coupon usage by people is complete conjecture. Target is well aware of how coupons work, if they wanted to crack down on it for those reasons they would have long ago.
3. For you to say you know the motivation of Target for setting certain policy, what kind of trips they want people to make to the store and it's all loss-leaders is naive. A lot of policies are clearly to keep revenue and market-share up to represent their company a certain way for stockholders. Believe that.
4. Saying you think Target would agree with you on something, especially when their actions show they do allow the behavior that's being discussed, is odd. Least of which because Target is not a person, it's a company, so all you can go by is the official corporate policy.
5. I don't understand why you suggest coupons can't be used on clearance items? Again, you seem to think Target is naive and isn't aware of this. As if it's some kind of dirty secret. If they didn't want coupons to be valid on clearance items they would put that right on there. Or, again, do you think their legal department is daft and they don't know how coupons work?
6. Feel free to be angry or live by your morals. Count on the fact that corporations have no morals, and nothing is free. If you think someone is getting over on some corporation on some sweet deal, rest assured the end game for the corporation is a much sweeter deal. Plenty of people got great deals on the .dot bubble, but rest assured people running those companies got much more than they deserve and someone else was left holding the bag.

Thanks to people like you, my Target only allowed me ONE MQ per transaction yesterday (I had a couple 2s & (1) 3, so NOT extreme in the least!!), and it really messed me up. I hope the manager was mistaken and that this isn't the new policy at this store cuz that is ridiculous and would completely suck!! Especially cuz I was buying Target GC & Q deals that require multiple item purchases.

If you (plural) are going to commit coupon fraud, please stop coming here and bragging about it; because I'm sick of hearing about it and you're ruining my local shopping. So, yes, it DOES effect me. Why don't you try being a good neighbor, member of the community and citizen; and not such a selffish pig!!! :ranting:

I told I was not able to combine the two since according to the TQ I need to "purchase 2 items."
My response "I am purchasing 2 items and using the Free MQ as a form of payment, and Target will be fully reimbursed."
Does anyone know who is correct? This can't be a YMMV can it?

As far as I know, a transaction is a transaction. When a coupon says "one per purchase," that means per item purchased, but "one per transaction" technically means you can only use one unless you are checking out multiple times. Target often does not enforce this policy on their own coupons. Hopefully that makes sense.

Did you by any Mead cards? I bought Sharpies 4 or 5 times (never purchased paper mate) last week and only got one all week. Never posted the coupon because I could not figure out what triggered it.

Wow. You need calm down there Barney. :rolleyes: 8 rolls of tape is nothing, I can go through that in a couple of days of Christmas present wrapping. And you need to make up your mind, do you want people to not commit fraud at all or just use a little bit of fraud? "Don't use 8 TQ, but using 2 or 3 is ok". :confused:


On another note, I was too late on my T's summer clearance as you can see by the pic. :( I only scored 1 container of sidewalk chalk for 59¢ & 4 (really cute) yellow anchor cups for 59¢. The only reason I got the cups is because I 'might' have accidently put them somewhere else when I was there on Friday. :D

I'm a little confused! Buying 8 rolls of tape and using 8 coupons is NOT fraud. Nor is it ANYONE's business why she got 8 or 8000 rolls of tape! Maybe she's a teacher and her district doesn't give school supplies...like here in NJ. instead of being jealou and rude..".maybe you should just worry about you. IMO....until you put food on my table..diapers on my baby or crayons in their hands...SHUT IT!

On a happier note! I'm stocked for Christmas with tape. I ended up with 35 of them....spread over the past 8 days. My kids seem to enjoy wrapping it around the legs of the kitchen chairs. I was able to get the fruit snacks too. Look around in the regular fruit snacks too. I saw a sneaky lady trying to hide them. I just giggled! Now since they moved the summer clearance...now they will move the clearances toys to that SPECIAL HAPPY place in the back corner!

In order to use the $1.25/2 ...you WOULD have to buy TWO wipes! And one would end up FREE and the other would be reduced by $1.25. So if they re $2.50.....you would pay $1.25 for 2 of them. HTH

Wow, so glad I did not spoil my good mood earlier, and waited to catch up.
I believe an apology is in order and it does not matter the out of pocket, a person has. Everyone shares their "good target runs" or searches here for the deals, that they hope to take advantage of. I always laugh when I see the belly aching of people that have posted their own transactions in the past, that could be questioned, by another target shopper..Just chill and on to the next deal...

Stopped at a T on southside of Atl and Summer Clearance was 80% :woot:... and I was the only one there to shop!! It was 50% yesterday. I was able to get several things mentioned earlier.

I didn't get the ice crearm maker (have a larger one already), but did get the bags of rock salt for 53¢ each!! I hope my lunch time T has some things left. The only other think I'm searching for is the canvas picnic type carry thing ... they would be great to fill as gift baskets or keep in the back of the car.

This is not how it works. Target sets a limit of how many coupons they want allowed to be printed. Once it had reached it's limit it disappears. During the removal process of the coupon you may be able to see it but it won't print. I suggest whenever you see a high dollar coupon on something you would want you print asap. Same goes for a bricks coupon they do not stay up till the expiration date they hit a number of prints and pull the coupon.

Targets policy had changed recently. If you are getting an item free with a bogo mfq or a free mfq you cannot use a target coupon on the free item.
so in this situation because you were using a free coupon you would have needed 3 wipes. 1 for the free mfq and 2 for the target coupon. HTH

As I stated in my earlier post, one of my T stores went from 50% straight to 80%. So I doubt this particular store will go to 90%

I did talk with a LOD at another T who said they were a "test" store and the percentage off would be different. I think someone else has mentioned this before. I'll go to that store during lunch time and check it out.

Clearance shopping sure is more fun than the hassle of the coupon scrutiny. (I'll still do Qs, but this is a fun break from it. I missed out last year because of vacation. I like summer stuff better than the holiday items and forgot how fun it can be.)

Went to a T other than my usual yesterday. At checkout I handed the cashier all my coupons at the beginning and started loading the belt. Then I noticed that she had laid out the coupons and was matching them to the items, scanning the items then scanning the coupons. So I helped her, she picked up a coupon, I handed her the item. Anything that beeped she immediately K1'd since she was holding the item. I thought that was a really great way to handle the coupons, no stress, no hassle and I wasn't denied or had to fight for any of them. Next time I go to my usual store I'm going to suggest doing this to make checkout easier.
