After voting in this poll (http://beta.slickdeals.net/forums/showthread.php?sduid=16556&t=319154), instead of the next screen showing the tally of previous votes, the poll was presented a second time as if I hadn't voted, even though my vote had already been tallied.

The server fed you a stale page. You won't be able to vote twice since the data is already saved.
