New to the site, and had a user name that i used for about a week. then when i tried to log on last night it told me password hadn't been changed in 7 days. then had a link to change the password. i clicked on it, and after a minute it told me i was banned forever????????????????? very confused. i had to delete my cookies and web page history to just get the website up again. had to create a new login just to get back on. please I had a few reputation points on my old login as well.

You more than likely had a duplicate registration.. they frown upon that here. Also, it's possible that you were a "one post wonder" and managed to get yourself banned in only a couple of posts by breaking a rule such as self promotion.
