So my Droid needs to be replaced. The screen is going crazy all the time, switching screens, opening apps, dialing the phone, etc all by itself as of yesterday. I have reflashed my phone and it keeps doing the same thing, so it appears to be a hardware issue.

I am due a contract extension on December 27. Verizon will let me upgrade early for a 20 dollar fee, but they are well more expensive than amazon, target, etc. What to do? I am thinking I want the droid bionic.

Also, for anyone that has experience upgrading online... I have an old Alltel plan that I am VERY attached to, as the price is awesome for the features we get. How do you get around them wanting to put you on some crappy new Verizon plan? Also, how do I make sure they don't swap my unlimited date with one of their 2gig plans?

If you already have unlimited data(Alltel or VZW) you are automatically grandfather'ed into unlimited data and don't have to switch plans. However, they MIGHT get you for "switching" to the 4G data plan, don't let them do that. When it comes to upgrading online, I've never done that either but Amazon seems pretty legit when I looked, just not eligible yet. I always go through the VZW store.

I would advise for you to ask in this forum... the people there are much more knowledgeable. Im sure there is a few people there that went thru the same thing.

Thanks for the suggestion adam, but I am more looking for suggestions on my upgrade stuff more than trying to fix my phone at this point. It is time for a new phone.
