Is there a way to do this? I want to receive an email everytime there is a new post in the hot deals section.

Thanks

Do you really want to receive many hundreds of emails each day?

Not exactly the solution you may be looking for but maybe you can use the Hot Deals RSS feed?

is slickdeals firewalled at work? or are you just trying to remain inconspicuous? haha

if you open up a forum on the upper right portion of the screen, right before the thread titles start to be listed, you'll see something like "Forum Tools", and you can click "subscribe to this forum" and tell them to email you daily updates. I am unwilling to commit an email account to check to see if this will do what you want, but it's worth a shot

The RSS feed will only give you the front page deals, i believe

The tools option that you mentioned will only give you daily digest which I do not want. I want to be alerted as soon as there is a new post.

Now my question is if I set up my RSS thru My Yahoo and leave this page open at all times, would that update itself simultaneously or I have to click on the "update the page" button?

The RSS feed should let you know about new threads, but not new posts. I'm having trouble imagining how it would be worthwhile to know when a new post arrived.

Why not just look at the forum when you have time and click on "New Posts (http://forums.slickdeals.net/search.php?searchid=10511255)?"

Otherwise, you may have hundreds or thousands of emails to sort through. Are you prepared for that? How would it benefit you?

Subscriptions need not be in digest format - in fact, individual notices is the default action. You should toggle an option to automatically subscribe you to all threads you post in, and configure it to email you immediately. It's very useful, as you can see the content of messages without even going to your browser.

I also recommend using a spamgourmet.com account. For example, create a Fleetwoodmac account on spamgourmet.com. Then change your SD email address to: slickdeals.forum.Fleetwoodmac@spamgourmet.com.

Subscriptions will clutter your inbox significantly, so I suggest filtering on the TO field, and have all messages to *.forum.*@spamgourmet.com redirected to something like inbox_forums.

[EDIT] I just realized forum subscriptions are handled differently from thread subscriptions. It appears daily digest is about the max frequency you'll get.

Thanks for the reply

I did subscribe to "Hot Deals" and I refreshed the page and saw a new topic posted yet I did not receive an email notification for half an hour. I am still waiting.

I think the subscription feature does not send instant notices and it is meant to work on a daily basis like mentioned before.

One thind I should add, I want to see all new threads posted not only the ones I posted in.

Thanks again

I have my own reasons in desiring to receive that many emails. There are so many deals that I am missing just because I am not alerted instantly. And I am using outlook so I can delete the unwanted topics in less than a second. Keep in mind that I am not interested with every individual reply, I am only interested with the new threads posted.

Thanks again

This is exactly what I meant. There is no benefit in receiving a notification of a deal that was posted say 20 hours ago. That deal is wayyy gone by that time.

Thanks for your reply
