I know many people are strongly against advertising of any sort but I think we should have more. The funds can help make Slickdeals better. Plus, they can be all the way at the bottom so it won't annoy anyone.

I think most people no longer see the ads due to FireFox Adblock.

I use FF and the only place I don't block ads is slickdeals... I don't really know why.
Btw.
Next time you've got like 5 ideas, try just combining them into one post instead of making a lot of them.
Welcome to slickdeals though! :)

Yeah I finally made the wise choice and ditched Norton completely. I just couldn't take it anymore. I am now using NOD32 and am still perfectly clean and safe without the bloat.

You can also modify your HOSTS file (http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htm) on an XP machine.

Norton gets many bad reviews. I stay away from it. I trust users like Killerz.

I have used the product for a long time and then once I took a look at what it was actually doing to the system and then compared it to some other alternatives, it was a no brainer. The product does work, but IMO at too high a price.

The same thing happens to almost everything Symantec acquires like partition magic. I used to use that back before Symantec grabbed it up and had no problems with it. Then of course the FIRST TIME I used it after the switch it had crashed my system and completely fracked my drive structure so badly that the program itself couldn't even fix it. Luckily someone told me about a free linux partition manager (gparted)and I used that to save my ass! I have been using it instead of partition magic ever since.
