Probably, they just use the scope to look around, when they confirm something they will chamber one. I can't imagine the shit storm if they accidently discharged a shot into the crowd..

#2) The Safety. No idea if military grade weapons even have a safety but I bet in a public setting they are using something that DOES have one.

Agree they probably have nothing in it until they see something, but he was just using the scope for the pics. You may also notice the absolutely massive binoculars. He would use those to glance around the stadium.

You can see the safety in what appears to be the middle position (able to chamber a round, but not actuate the trigger) in a couple of the pics.

The stadium was not yet open when the pics were taken and the rifle never had a round in it that day. ONLY Binoculars were used for observation during the game and NOT the rifle!! It was only put into position to get the pictures of the form fit and function of the DCLW Tripod.
