When I'm reading a thread, the legend says my [img] code is off. How do I toggle that option?

Control panel > Options >
Visible Post Elements
You have the option to show or hide various elements of messages, which may be of use to users on slow internet connections, or who want to remove extraneous clutter from posts.
Show Signatures
Show Avatars
Show Images (including attached images and images in [IMG] code)

The third one needs to be checked, it's about half way down the page.

I have "show images" enabled in the spot Melissa2 pointed out. I'm rarely in the lounge. I can see that it's turned off in the other forums.

yeah.. that's a site thing. we don't want people hotlinking pictures in any forum to speed up page loading.
