It's come to my attention that quite a few members need a reminder when it comes to the rules:

1 - No Referrals! PERIOD
- That includes posting links with referrals in them, PM-ing referrals to members, and requesting to be referred.
- That includes posting/soliciting referrals in your signature or custom user title.
- Members alert Moderators to new referral scams, promotions, and deals. We will know if your post is a referral, so please don't risk it!

2 - Reputations Points
- Trading reputation points for services/trades is not allowed. You can give other users rep points if you feel that the post has been helpful.
- To anyone who "requests" people to rep them, you will be warned for Reputation Point Trading. If it continues, the warnings will increase, and you may lose your ability to give & receive rep. points.
- This includes begging/asking/hinting for rep points (IE, Rep me, and I'll rep you back) either posted in your signature, custom user title, or in posts.
- Reputation points points for contests/games prizes or trading for value items are not allowed since it doesn't follow the "thank you" premise
- Use the Mod Alert Function to report people who are requesting/trading rep. points.

3 - Reposts
- The repost URL checker will only work if there is 1 URL in the original Post (OP). If there is more that one URL (which includes email address) the program will not work.
-As a reminder, any post made after 6 months from the date of a previous post is not a repost (this is only in the freebies forum).
-The Moderators have the right to merge "reposts" after the 6 months time frame if the "repost" is deemed intentional (IE posted by the same user a day after the 6 month cut off).
-Moderators also have the right to refuse to merge a "similar repost" if the original poster (OP) intentionally edited their post just so the "similar repost" can be merged into the OPs post.

4 - Lying and its Promotion
-The promotion of lying in order to qualify for a survey or offer that you cannot "honestly" qualify for is not allowed. It is considered illegal activity, and a violation of the rules.
- This includes posting information about a survey so that others can use the information to qualify.
- This includes answers to survey questions where the answers are a form of qualifying.

5 - Abusing Thumbs Down Votes
-Please do not intentionally "thumbs down" posts made from a certain member. You will be caught, and either lose your voting privileges, or banned.

6 - Political Discussions/Debates
- Please do not debate anything political in Freebies. The Podium was created for this purpose.
- Any posts where political discussions or rantings are made will be deleted and the poster will be warned. This includes and is not limited to PETA, religion, breastfeeding, etc. topics.
- We, Moderators, have been lenient on giving warnings about this problem in the past, but it has continued. So this is your final "Friendly Warning".

Please enjoy your SDs experience. If you have any feedback on this announcement, please click here (http://www.slickdeals.net/forums/showthread.php?p=5301383#post5301383).

Thank you kel be!! I'm sure I speak for most others when I have noticed alot of thumbs down with no reason(s). Just my thought, that when a user sees a thumbs down on a thread, that thread gets pretty much overlooked. I speak for myself, but I think that a thumbs down is not necessarily a bad thing when it is accompanied with some reason why. We are here to help each other and thumbs down without a reason helps no one!

Just my thoughts.

It's about time the mods stepped up enforcement on SD. Some of the discussions are getting so far off topic, debates are turning into verbal fights. :argue:

We can only enforce what we see, or what the members alert us to. If people aren't Mod Alerting problem discussions or topics, we may never find out about it.

Well technically, a definition of punctual is precise (see 3rd definition under American Heritage Dictionary on the link you provided). So I'm right, this time.

I'm not sure where else to ask this (apologies ahead of time): So, my understanding is that if something is a freebie, it can never be a FP post? Seems odd that getting something for nothing (more or less) wouldn't be worthy of the attention an FP post gives it, but if it's posted in Freebies, apparently it's not eligible for FP?

Several times a Freebie has made it to the Front Page. :)
