Instead of everyone bashing each others systems and threads, wouldn't it be nice to have system specific subforums? Then, I wouldn't be drawn into discussions about PS3, I could simply check on the 360. It wouldn't eliminate the bashing, but it might reduce it.

There should just be another forum near the bottom of the list for "Gaming." Then have sub-forums for 360, Wii, PS3, PC. It's quite obvious there are a lot of Slickdealers that have gaming interest, and it would probably work best for the site to have an additional forum to cater to them.

I agree, this would work well

First it'll be a gaming section, then a movie section..and this section and that section.

It's a deals forum and the off-topic stuff that does exist goes into three somewhat general sub forums, the lounge, the podium, and tech support. There doesn't need to be anything else, especially something so specific as a gaming section, let alone one for specific platforms...meh.

There are so many other actual gaming forums out there and they specialize in those types of discussions. Give those a shot.

If you want a gaming forum, then I want an HDTV subsection...but then, that is why I go to avsforum among others.

Once the Wii becomes more plentiful, then this section should be archived.

Bad idea IMO. There aren't really that many threads in the first place, and once you create sub forums, it'll just be even more barren.

Huh? Why should it be archived? If anything, this section isn't used at all anymore to look for wiis(at least not that I've seen). But I do agree that you should go to other forums if you want something that specific.

it will get too out of hand with everyone wanting their own subforum

with games becoming less and less exclusive to one console whats the point? I know the next gen of systems that comes out im only buying one of them versus all of them because it behooves the developers to make the games for all systems and the difference in between the different versions for different console is minimal....

There are already thread icons for PS3, 360, Wii, PC, News, etc so I think it's pretty easy to tell what a thread about (if the thread title doesn't). Those don't stop the trolls, so I doubt sub forums would...

Wow, it's almost been two years since that post.

The gamer's lounge is alright. It has good discussions but it also has it share of rampant fanboi madness. By the time I go through the gamut of sites I usually frequent, I've read all the articles that are eventually posted here and sometimes discussed.

To anyone who falls into this graveplot, this is an OLD thread which was dug up.

And I agree.

I don't think so, particularly because some games are cross platform and I don't want to check both places. It's easy enough to just click the button at the bottom of the screen for "PS3" and automatically filter out all other consoles.

It'd be a pain to have multiple forums, and 90% of the games are released on multiple systems. You can already sort by the 360/PS3/Wii tags. You can always ignore people that are trolling.

I think the level of trolling has drastically reduced in here anyway. The ones that still do troll would probably still troll in the sub-forums as well.

GRRRRH got pulled into that one.......

I think they should make sub-forums for people that want to talk about the ps3 not having any good games but that some will come out soon... then a subforum about the best way to keep dust of their wii.... and then a subforum about people getting monkey raped buying a 360 arcade version thinking that it was the game system they had in those nifty commericals this xmas season...
