If you go into a users public profile. The user's rep points are linked. When you click on the link (the same as repping a user) you get the error message:

Invalid Post specified. If you followed a valid link, please notify the administrator

Is this done on purpose or should the error be something else or should the link be something else?

I just went to yours and clicked and it says "Reputation is only enabled for tech support, help and deal forums." which is what it's supposed to say.

Members can only rep posts. You are trying to rep a profile. The error message is telling you that you are not repping a post.

that is when you click the rep box for someone else's profile. When you click the rep box in your own profile you get this message:

so both of you are correct on what it says ;)

The error message is stating that you are trying to enter restricted access, and you do not have the ability to go further. Hence why it's not turned off or telling you where you can rep a person.
