I can't seem to find this thread anywhere, and I am sure that it was in the Freebies forum, and that I had a post in it. Any idea where it is, or what happened to it?
If it's the one I'm thinking of, I ModAlerted it and it was removed. It was against forum T&C and seemed pretty shady.
Just use one of the numerous promo codes.

Gord,
I thank you for the prompt response. I'm new here, so could you please explain a bit? I'm assuing T&C is the Board's protocols or rules of operation. What exactly seemed "shady"? I'm a new slickdealer, so your advice is appreciated. It appeared as if people were posting to have received money...

While I am sure your intentions were good on posting the deal, these types of offers are typically frowned upon by the user community. Other deals such as those frequent pop-ups for a free $50 gift card with completion of sponser offers are other examples of posts usually removed by user request. Hope this helps clarify.

Hi rayzac99,
Actually, I hadn't posted the deal, but merely wanted to refer back to it. Thanks for the explanation/information.

T&C is Terms & Conditions, so you're correct there.
The board I'm thinking of, some guy with ~3 posts was telling people that if they signed up at a specific gambling site using some sort of code, he'd Paypal them $50. It sounded extremely shady, and obviously he was getting something out of it, so it was self-promotion on his part - which is prohibited.
We get a lot of 'one-post wonders' trying to scam people, sell their own product or otherwise self-promote, so it's usually safer to hit the ModAlert button and let our benevolent mods decide whether a thread is breaking the rules.
