It's a promo code - so I don't think you can use it with the free shipping code. But if your total is 50$ or more BEFORE the 15$ is subtracted, you can get free shipping. Hope this helps.

Yep, I HAD a pink one but I can't find it at the moment - if you would see the huge Lane chest that I store all this stuff in, you would understand, lol. Although the pink one may have been one that shredded pretty badly, little strings everywhere and I might have thrown it out. i havent tried the kit, but i remember seeing it in-store and the samples are tiny. it sounds like a good value, and proceeds go to a good cause, but unless there's a couple you know you'd use, you might want to check it out B&M first.

As far as I know it is rare for Sephora to run a "special" like that, not saying they won't do it again soon though because I don't know (and wish I did!). I guess it's a sign of the times with the recession and not as many sales maybe because I've been getting some awfully good deals at various beauty sites; not always % off but many goodies thrown in for buying something and yes, some really marked down items.

well remember the siren kit ships free (or find something cheap and use a different code besides SIREN). I have the naturally classic and naturally adventurous, which are great. i havent ordered the siren of the sea kit since i own everything in it besides the brush lol. the siren and adventurous kits have mainly the same colors, so if you're between the two, the siren kit is definitely the better value (if not for the mineral veil and brush alone).

heck no. based on the amt of 10 day samples that are out there, theres not even a need for the little kit (i mean the $18 one). The foundations are too small and run out pretty quick. i've been looking at the different starter kits (the 11 piece LE at sephora is the best. its worth it for the clear radiance and compact (which are $18 and $25 on their own :) )

I have oily skin, and I find that Patricia Wexler Acnestat over night repair gives just the right amount of moisturizer, without making me oily! It helps fade old acne scars, and the best part? It's $20, but there is usually always a $10 off any PW product, so for $10, you get a great size product!

It is very easy on the skin too! Does not irritate it at all!

I have very oily skin and acne at times but the things that have worked best for me are the Aveeno Clear Complexion Foaming cleanser and the Clean & Clear Continous Action Cleanser. They dont over dry my face and keep me shine and acne free.

I have oily skin.. as far as Proactiv - been there, done that, NEVER going back. I thought it was working a bit while I was using it (2+ years and hundreds of $$$) but I never really realized how RED and irritated it was making my face until I stopped using it.

Some cleansers I like, in order of preference, and what they have in them:
- St. Ives Apricot medicated scrub - 2% salicyclic acid - (CHEAP, GREAT product. I can't rave about this stuff enough. However, some people can't handle a scrub everyday so it might be better 1-2 times a week if you have sensitive skin)
-Biore Warming anti-blackhead cleanser - 2% salicyclic acid (very nice warming effect, not really "targeting" blackheads)
-Neutrogena Grapefruit Acne Cleanser - 2% salicylic acid (LOVE the smell)
- Clean & Clear Morning Burst Beaded Cleanser - witch hazel + ?? (leaves my skin feeling nice, but not really as "potent" as other acne cleansers b/c it doesn't have any .. hate to say this.. chemicals. Also, the little cute beads end up in the ocean because they aren't biodegradable :()

I've tried "high-end" cleansers, and for me they didn't do anything special that drugstore/Walmart brands didn't.

I really prefer salicylic acid over benzyl peroxide - BP bleaches clothing/bedding. It depends on what "type" of acne she has as to which might be better.. benzyl peroxide is intense and more about fighting bacteria (ie large, inflamed, pus filled pimples) whereas salicylic acid is more of a gentle, general acne treatment. IMO, benzyl peroxide is better used as a spot treatment. Just check out the labels before you buy.

And of course, I LOVE my Clarisonic. It's a bit of an investment (~$190) but it has really changed the look/feel of my skin. I sucked it up and bought it, and haven't looked back since. It didn't completely erase my acne (that's what the cleansers help with), but when I do breakout it's less frequently and it goes away quicker. It helps the cleansers work better and any "treatments" or moisturizers really soak in, but if you have acne you REALLY have to use a medicated or targeted cleanser with the Clarisonic. Otherwise, you are just spreading bacteria around your face and will breakout more.

I used to use a medicated moisturizer, as well, but I think that was kinda overkill. I LOVE Clinique's Dramatically Different Moisturizing GEL, which really hydrates my skin w/o making it oily or giving me breakouts. Make sure to get the GEL if your skin is oily, rather than the LOTION which is for normal/dry skin. The LOTION totally made me break out.

I believe so as the postcard was from Boscov, as were the previous ones. Boscov is great especially if you're a guy! They always have a lot of Ralph Lauren stuff on sale for really cheap! I don't go there often though, as it's in the poopiest mall you'll EVER see... I'm talking about, there's only a Boscov, and the rest are NO NAME stores! I kid you not! lol

I got some REALLY nice sets for really cheap! Today, I got a 3.4oz Cartier perfume $110 elsewhere, for only $41, plus CB and free shipping!

Perhaps if you tried telling us his likes and dislikes, we can help you narrow your choice down some?

It comes in a little flat box with the samples neatly packed in their own slots, a booklet with more details on each scent and a purse atomizer with tiny funnel. The presentation is a little cheap, so if you look for a gift to impress, this is not the one to go with.

The actual bottle you can trade the certificate in for is mostly for the 1 oz size, not the big ones and the samples you get are just the normal little vials they hand out as freebies, not miniature bottles.

The 500 point gift is only available on-line, and only sometimes. A few months back, they were on a roll where there were three great sets one after another, but then it was just a Sephora palette for a while. I have't seen any 500 point gifts available for a while.

The Blink, Winks & Brows Eye Deluxe Sampler sounds fun, but it comes out the same time as the MAC 25% - Do I dare order from Sephora and MAC in the same day?? :drool:

And Sephora is still sending out an email (I just got it again yesterday afternoon) advertising the 1 oz primer, although it does state in the description "deluxe sample" but still they should correct the 1 oz. part because it's definitely not full size! At least you got your 100 points back so that was good considering they were wrong. I know last Christmas I had picked out a deluxe sample of something with 100 points and they sent something different. I read the fine print and it does state that they have the option to send something different but still, that was my 100 points that I had earned plus I didn't like whatever they sent!!!

Been searching for a long time for a face makeup that will cover my flaws (maybe concealer), do something about the serious shine that I get through my T-zone (astringent before makeup??), brighten my eyes (again, concealer I am thinking) and look radiant over my cheeks all at the same time...any ideas ladies? I know this is a lot to ask for. But their makeup is so expensive, it should be able to spin gold if I ask it to. Lol.

I think I will write down some things I am interested in, then go to Sephora store to product test. This time I will leave them on all day before deciding whether to purchase. Plus, I would rather purchase online for CB 8% & product samples, etc.

I would recommend the Smashbox primers- they are the best.

Also, I really like the Tarte Smooth Operator foundation/tinted moisturizer- it is really light and sheer and does not look like makeup. I also think the Smashbox Face set is great value if you are looking for a few face products- the foundation in the set is great!

the spot treatment is good for prevention too. i've had those painful spots on my nose or around it where i knew a pimple was about to form, but hadn't yet.

so i treated it with this for 2 days and by the 3rd day, it hadn't formed and the painful spot had gone away. this is REAL good. i haven't tried it on existing acne or pimples though

Agreed. I think it's b/c most of UD colors have a lot of shimmer in it. I would have to subdue it by blending it w/ another color and when I'm getting ready to go somewhere, I really don't have that much time! Also... :coverlaf: I'm getting up there in age so I can only :rock: it at night mostly.

i wear pinks/golds/browns in daytime and then i rock whatever at night. i usually mix colors too, so you can add jeweled liner in daytime too (or do a wash of bright shadow as a liner too)

But u know what, I thought the pallette would be a plastic compact, but its not, its one of those cardboard ones. Still very cute but i can see it getting mangled in my makeup case.
