Anyone posting any type of "Free iPod" deals automatically gets banned instantly. No warning, no exceptions, nothing.

Who agrees with me?

While I agree that posting this crap in freebies or hot deals or any of those other ones should be banned immediately, why not have another forum where people can post deals such as this. There are some legitimate deals out there if you are willing to do a little bit of work, but there isn't really a place to post them anywhere. Keep in mind that for most of us, slickdeals isn't just about finding the best price, it's also about hearing what other peoples' experiences are with a given company/product/etc.

I agree with robotZERO. anyone who would:

1. join a pyramid scheme,
2. join slickdeals
3. create a post that baits slickdealers witha referal link that is masked/misleading

Has the exact motive to get a ipod for the person, and for the person alone, and not to offer a slickdeal.

There are actually other referrel deals out there besides freeipods. There are ones where you can get money for referring a friend and that person gets money (tivo, and several phone providers have this option) and many other of the "complete these offers and receive this" sort of thing. It may not appeal to you, but to people that it does appeal to, they should be able to come here to find information or help.

presonally it really won't accomplish much. sure it might some of you feel better, but most of them are 1 post wonders. really won't help getting rid of people with no intention of coming back. others its an honest mistake who didn't bother reading the rules. so they realize there mistake and don't do it anymore and occasionally post some good deals.

Eh, this type of referral thing shouldn't be allowed because there would be tons of referral links flooding the forums. If you find a good freeipod-type of deal, go tell your friends or PM users who you're familiar with. Posting any type of referral link at slickdeals is not only against the rules, but will make everybody hate you.

whether its real or not (debatable) there's no debate about it being self promotion. do any other members get any benefit for you posting a referral link/doing one of those trials? no only you do.
