Since it's winter I thought it would be great to bring this post back again.
The Heavenly Hats Foundation(TM )collects and distributes brand new hats of all kinds to those heroes of all ages who lose their hair due to the treatment of cancer or the many other medical conditions which may cause hair loss. The Heavenly Hats Foundation (TM) was founded by teenager Anthony Leanna when he was only 10 years old.
Since it's beginnings in 2001, Heavenly Hats(TM) has distributed more than 150,000 brand-new hats to hundreds of hospitals and clinics around the United States. Thousands more have been shipped directly to individuals. We also send hats to many other countries upon request. We want to help every patient who is in need of headwear for warmth, comfort, courage and strength.
Visit our Request A Hat Package page to receive a hat package for a friend or loved one. **Hat packages may take up to three weeks to process due to the amount of requests Orthat we receive on a daily basis.

didn't you just know some greedy peeps would ruin this:
Although we know that very few people would take advantage of a foundation who is only trying to help patients in need, we have had some issues of false requests just so that people can receive something for free. We sincerely ask that you please respect the mission of our foundation and only request "hat packages" if you or someone close to you is in need of one for medical reasons. The time that is involved in preparing the hat packages and the funds that are involved with shipping the packages is phenomenal and in order for Heavenly Hats to continue it's mission to help those in need we ask for your cooperation on this matter. Thank You!
About this charity:
Sixteen year-old Anthony D. Leanna started the Heavenly Hats Foundation(TM) in 2001 when he was just 10 years old.
"My program was started to provide brand-new hats for cancer patients and other medical patients who lose their hair due to a disease or the treatment of a disease. Heavenly Hats(TM) wants to be able to provide hats to individuals and hospitals in order to help the patients feel better about themselves and to give them the extra courage and hope to win their fight. Hair loss during the battle of a disease can be uncomfortable, depressing and at times even a little humiliating. The hat is just a small symbol of hope and love, but my wish is that it will have the power to brighten the patients day so that they can look to the future with a smile." Anthony
things they need:
ITEMS THAT HEAVENLY HATS COULD CURRENTLY USE
1. Monetary Donations To Help Cover The Costs That Are Involved With Shipping The Hats To The Patients and Hospitals.
2. Lightweight cotton spring hats, turbins, scarves or sleep hats for women.
3. Spring hats for young boys between the ages of 3 and 10.

I posted this for two reasons
One is that when I went through Chemo I wore lots of different funky hats so people would focus on the hats not poor ole me. So I thought maybe if people who knew people going through chemo this might give them a boost. ( I put all the hats people bought me and am sending them)
The second reason I posted this was so that people would be aware of the need for hats and send them to them.
Never once did I think that poeple would abuse this nor do I want to believe there are people that would abuse such a great thing. Thank you for editing
So if you have hats please send them in to

it's sad that there is even any question about people abusing this organization. My mother is going through her last round of chemo for bone cancer and even *I* have not ordered a care package for her, because I would rather just buy the hats for her if she needs them instead of having to add to the orders that the organization has to fill.
I really think the Hat Drive is a good idea :)

Thank you OP.
I have forwarded the information ro a foundation we have worked with for a long time that is basically a support organization for extremely poor families with children that have cancer.
About half the childen lose their hair with chemo so this will be a tremendous help since often the families do not even have enough money for groceries (the foundation and we help there) so a "luxury" like a hat would be impossible for them otherwise.

I'm so happy to see my generous fellow slick dealers rising up to help this wonderful organization.
 I knew if I let you all know that the offer was being abused that you'd find a way to help!
I sent an email with some of the info cut and pasted to my husband's Boss because they have boxes and boxes of old promotyional hats sitting in their storage unit. I urged him to shake loose a few hundred and give them to his assitant to mail to the charity. I hope he comes through because this is such wonderful idea.
I love to see postings like this because I know slick dealers know people in need but I am also always sad when I see that a charity gets hammered.
If anyone else is like me and knows of some company or business with s stash of old promotional capps or hats sitting around, please let them know about this worthy charity. What makes it even more astounding it that it is run by a teen cancer survivor.
Hat's off to Anthony!

I havent been on slickdeals for a few months until I needed to find this post today. It's getting cold by me and I thought of this post. I work in a TC and myself and about 10 clients are going to be going to local stores to do a hat drive. I just wanted to repost this because its a great cause and its getting winter time again. Please dont abuse this and if you can take a look in your closets and send them some hats. It's a great organization. THANKS

My dear grandmother does have cancer (leukemia), and I am not even requesting a hat, since she has a wig now. That is SOOOO sad people are so greedy to steal from cancer patients who lost their hair. How low can you go?! :vomit:

Hello! This is a great site if people don't abuse it. I'm a cancer patient right now and I've had to spend tons of cash on head covers or wigs so seeing that their is a site like this to help those of us out with the burden of covers for our heads , really tears me up. I appreciate it much. Thanks!!

This is a great post. I have a ton of hats that people bought my kids for christmas last year and they were never worn and still have the tags on them. Kids ted to use their hoods because they think the hat will mess up their hair =). This is better than dropping them off at a random clothing drop box not knowing where they'll end up. REP to you!

I'm not going to request a hat even though my Dad is a Lymphoma survivor. I feel horrible at the hundreds of people who are going to abuse this! When my dad had cancer, he just shaved his head because he couldn't take his hair just falling out. He wore caps all the time and still does. :( But his hair grew back! It's great that this foundation was started for people with cancer by a person with cancer. Hats off to Healing Hats! :)

This is such a wonderful charity guys. When i was undergoing chemotherapy treatments at 22 years old (2 years ago) it was such a blessing to receive these hats. I sincerely urge anyone who is able to help this charity to try and do so. It really does help make treatment a little easier to deal with. I know people are going to take advantage of this, and that's really sad... i'm begging you to help this charity instead of hurting it.

& on that topic, this is not the only organization that donates & collects hats.
When visiting the Cancer Information Center to get some brochures @ the hospital where I was receiving chemo, they had a big box of hand made knitted hats that were donated by a local church.
I was surprised & very happy to be able to choose something lightweight that also kept my head warm in the winter, in the house.
If you need this, check @ your hospital too.
&
If you're donating, consider your local hospital too.
Most have an area for cancer support services.
