This is a repost.
I have been a vegetarian for 3 years and I can tell you that this "kit" that they send you is nothing more than a magazine full of scare tactics(I.E. Tortured Animals). course if thats what your idea of a starter kit is that this freebie is for you.
Also I would be a bit wary about signing up for anything from PETA because its almost near impossible to have them remove your mailing address.
5 years ago I constantly got this ad in the mail from them, but when I was moving I tried to have it stopped and after marking "return to sender" on it several times, resulting to phone calls that never went to the right department. They did not stop.
I think my Aunt just throws them away now instead of giving them to me when I stop by for a visit.
I've heard other claims regarding mailing removal so think about it if you don't want to receive more from them... they love to disregard personal requests.

I sent for this when it was first posted a year and a half ago, thinking it would be helpful to have vegetarian recipes for my son.
Instead it is full of farm cruelty pictures and propaganda - if there was a recipe I certainly did not see it!
PLEASE - DO NOT SEND FOR THIS IF YOU HAVE KIDS!! Fortunately I opened it before school got out and immediately recycled.

Instead it is full of farm cruelty pictures and propaganda
...because animals don't get slaughtered? I'm sorry but have you not seen an animal killed for meat..? I was raised on a farm and let me just get say that there is no such thing as an animal dying instantly or humanely. If you want to eat meat, that's fine but it's wrong to say it's all lies an propaganda. Meat does not fall from the sky skinned, boned and ready to cook. All meat, at one point, was alive. I'd love to see the propaganda, honestly. I don't eat meat but I sent for this anyway.
Thanks as always jappyhick. +rep (on another post since this one is too old), thumbs up :woot:
Edit: I'm anti-PETA, btw, they're fairly abusive but I need to see this for myself.
