Got my CVS SoCal ad today, some price differences in certain products. $9.96 Tide and Ultra detergent. Our Colgate deal is $2.77 with $2 ECB, Limit 2. We have the same deals like the national ad this week, which is good because we lost OS/Gillette Body Wash deal last week, which suck for us (including Nevada, Arizona).

I used to have no problem getting the $2ECB if I find an expired item but lately, the store I've been frequenting tells me I need to BUY the expired item in order to get a $2 discount. I emailed CVS customer service 2 weeks ago but did not receive a response. Will call on Monday since they're closed on the weekends. Just wanted to vent!

So they expect you to purchase a food item that may make you sick because it's past date and they're willing to pay you a whopping $2 for the risk?!!!! That's just nuts! Although it's not illegal in CA, there have been lawsuits across the country where State Attorney Generals have gone to bat against the sale of expired products st CVS and other stores. I doubt corporate would appreciate store managers placing them in the position of another possible lawsuit.

I tried to get ecbs at one store selling out of date (clearanced) food and out of date printer cartridges. Store claimed there was no such rule and I just gave up...... my one and only time trying.

I found some Lamb that was out of date at Albies (what I really wanted was the lamb chops that were going to be last sell by the day after I was there to be marked down but the store refused....... not like lamb is a huge seller in this area! and everything else they mark down day before last sell by date so what was the big deal with the lamb? Anyway...... told them their leg of lambs were past sell by date (by a few days) and what were they going to do about that? Told me they weren't going to mark it down (already marked down although the package didn't indicate so and I had no way to know since there was no indate leg of lambs at all) but I was perfectly welcome to purchase it at that price (OUT OF SELL BY DATE by a few days!).

So i went to the same albies this afternoon and thought I would check out the lamb dates as I want to make lamb if it's a good price and see the sell by dates are coming up but one was marked as sell by 8/21. This was on Sunday, so 8/22.

I was too tired to hunt someone down to notify them but I'm going back tomorrow to see if they have marked down the lamb chops and if the leg of lamb is still there I'm going to notify the store manager this time and not the meat employees.

I know! I really don't understand the logic of asking me to buy the expired product!

Just called CVS customer service and they have no idea! They're going to have the district manager call me back. I don't want to cause any problems and actually like shopping at this store but I want to sort this out. Hopefully will remember to compliment some store employees while I'm at it.

SUCCESS!!! The district manager called me within an hour and she was super nice! She knew EXACTLY what I was talking about and did not understand why they didn't print $2 for me. She said she will contact the store to straighten this out and even gave me her cell phone number and told me to call her if I have any more problems. So if any of you are having any problems, try calling CVS customer service.

Does anyone have any issues with stores refusing to give rainchecks?

There is one store near me that absolutely refuses to give a raincheck....... for ANYTHING. They just either say they are out of the forms (always out) or they just don't give them at all............ ever.

Yes we do front page. I was going to get it to print more coupons but it seems that plan won't work since the operating system isn't supported by coupons.com and sounds like a bunch of hassle to load another one onto it.

I thought I got it all sorted out but when I went to the store manager, she said I'm supposed to get a $2 discount off of the item (not the expired one though). They actually have a printout stuck to the register with that wording. I told her that's not what the district manager said so she gave me the $2ECB anyway (kind of reluctant but once I mentioned DM, she was more cautious). I also showed her the info on the Attorney General's website and told her to get the settlement agreement to verify the terms. She told me she would try to get it in a week. Well, I gave her 2 weeks and today, she told me corporate did not give her a response. She didn't seem to care. Thinking about calling the DM again but not sure whether I should continue to pursue this or just let it go.

On top of this, the cashier gave me such a hassle with my coupons today even though my transactions were very simple. I'm so frustrated that I'm thinking about quitting from couponing.:(

Congrats on getting confirmation from corporate. I emailed them a long time ago and never heard from them. When I called, they didn't know what I was talking about. Anyway, I think I will go to another CVS from now on. Majority of the nice cashiers have left that store.

Anyone in Socal find summer clearance at 90%? I went to a few stores yesterday and they were 75%. Today, the two I went to were back to full price. So sad there was no 90% this year. Last year we scored some great finds!

I know there was one here that was at 90% off. I got to the store prob around 8ish on Sunday and the cashier says...... oh u r too late! They came in and wiped us out already.

There was a woman at the register leaving with coolers, charcoal, summer items. Her total came to 12.xx.

I went to the summer aisle and sure enough.......... cleaned out.

In todays Cardenas Grocery store ad, there is a $2 off (3) 12 fridg packs of Coke. Would go great with the coke deal. Too bad I did the Coke deal yesterday:mad:
4 for $13 - $2q = $11 - $5/15 = $6 + CRV and tax. $3 ecb back , so $3+ for 4 12 packs. There is also a RX q for sugerless items making it even sweeter.

You will have to add a $2 filler. I used the Wheat Thins with $1 q's.

I can confirm that here in Los Angeles/ Long Beach area most of the store has gone to 90% as of today. Yesterday I went to one store, it was 75% for all sunglass (kids & adults). Today I went to diferent store planned at buying at 75%, but all sunglasses scanned at 90%. I had to buy more than I planned :D:D.

They are all Adults Style Since Sunglass, Kids all Disney Sunglass.
Adult glasses are $1.79 from $17.99, Kids glasses are 69¢ from $6.99

I didn't buy any other summer items as my garage is already full. Go get them before they raise the prices. By the way, these were not marked. They had 50% off tag.

Edit: If you see 1 store has only 50% or 75% off, don't be discouraged go to another store. I found that 1 out of 4 store has 90%.

There is one Vitality at the store in PB on Garnet next to Staples. Warning: the store is not coupon friendly, or raincheck friendly. ednred asked me to keep an eye out for the Vitality because she had a raincheck. I spotted them several days ago, but they gave red a bit of trouble. I gave her a copy of the ad a few days ago, and said I hope you get your Oral-B. She replied don't worry, I'll get my toothbrush, and I knew that she would. That store had no idea what they were up against. She just let me know she got it today, and there is still one left.

Has anyone had any trouble using the milk q? I've used it before, and the cashiers always have to push it through. Not a problem since they see that I buy the milk and the milk has the made in california seal. Anyway, a couple of days ago, I tried using the q again and this time the register wouldn't allow them to push it through at all. I had a cashier who's familiar with this q and an assistant supervisor try everything. No matter what they did, the q would not take. Anyone else have a similar experience? That happened to me this evening at cvs with the skintimate coupon. The cashier could do NOTHING even with the shift supervisor's override to get the register to accept the coupon including putting it in manually as a manu coupon. They said the register said the coupon was not valid and to return it to the customer. The skintimate was EXACTLY the same color, style, size as the coupon's pix (except it had a bonus razor attached). I knew it was gonna be a beeper cuz the upc code was the same as the ones that were beeping for others, but I wanted the one with the razor. The upc was not a new upc due to the razor being attached as it was shrink wrapped around the can with the original upc showing. They finally had me pay and gave me back 55 cents.

Have not seen PerioBalance in any CVS in OC & LA county :(. On a brighter side, yesterday I found some 90% garden items. They were not marked, no tag at all. I just scanned them to find my surprise. The 50ft hose 99¢, garden stool $1.99, gloves 39-49¢. I was looking for those Miracle Gro potting soil, they did not have any. HTH.

Edit: Today I went few other stores. Every store is different, most store has 50%, one had 75%, only one had 90% & not much left.

The store in Marina Del Rey has plenty of GUM Periobalance...

Hope everyone is having nice Black Friday shopping. Couple of updates.

General Mills Cereal is advertised as 1, actual limit is 2 :bounce:

Wet n Wild is advertised as 1, actual limit is 2.

CVS 4pk AA/AAA battery is ringing up at $3.65:confused:, still gave $3.99 ecb

Excedrin is limit 1 for whole week, I did not get my 99¢ since I bought 1 on Sunday

Nivea $5wyb$10 is limit 2 for whole week 11/20-11/26.

Had to go to 2 store to get most of my items. Still did not find Sheet Energy Strip. I went at 11:45 at 24hr store, and I was late. There were many people already there, and emptied shelfs even though there was no shelf tag on any of the items. 2nd store I went at 7am, they had the other items I missed at the first store except Sheet. Both store had items at various locations. It was like easter egg hunting ;);)

Overall pretty good experience. Happy Thanksgiving.

thank you for the response but it appears this is for the "scan right" policy that is also another program for $2 off or free item when item rings up wrong. only for 1st item

was looking for the link for expired product and getting $2 ....

Anyone in the Orange County area know if their CVS has the Glade Sense and Spray starter kit? I have a rain check but can't find the item anymore.

It's on the north side of Nobel, just west of the 5.
