This site has gotten out of control and mods really need to take control of the rudeness of it. This site used to be such a nice place to hang out. Now you have to stand up for yourself in every thread you make because the asshats come along and either hijack the thread or will start being, well, asshats. And people wonder why we start going to other forums?

We have the mod alert feature for a reason, people. Use it. There are eleven of us, and thousands of all of you. We can't read every post.

The Lounge is what you make it. You have the control to help make it better. You want a better Lounge? Be pro-active and do something about it.

Some people don't have social skills, and the only way they can say what they want is by being rude. Sometimes rude is the ONLY way to get your point across strong. Sometimes rude will snap the user back to reality. So I don't agree that rude is always a bad thing.

Also the site is supposed to be 'family friendly' and there are quite a few questionable things posted in the lounge. It's just all over i'm noticing that it's just not the same here anymore. I still have a lot of friends that are here, so I try to keep posting. But when I see others talked to like they are dirt...it is just sad.

This subject is started quite often. I notice a few people here and there being rude/jumping on someone for no reason/etc. It happens on almost any board that's been around for awhile. But if this board doesn't seem the same anymore it's because a lot of people have left here to go to another board and only return once on a blue moon when that board is down or they are bored. So no..it's not the same anymore. However those of us who are here can't really help that. Those who have been around here a lot in the past few years I think are the same as we've always been...and as long as I still have the Stinky monkey to hate I'll be happy ;)

Seriously though...and I might be wrong...but isn't that because a lot of the people who have helped make this board fun now post mostly on the other site? I don't care where people post...but when people say "The Lounge isn't the Same anymore"..I want to say "Of Course it's not...a lot of people have left us. We can't do anything about that." 'Being the change' doesn't make it change. Mod alerting doesn't make it change, it just allows a person time off temporarily. Living with it... I suppose thats the reason for those motoring on to other places. If those who try to make like Ghandi moved on, the only people left would be those who are quite happily living with it no matter what it does to this place.

The problem with that Raddish is that the things that have made the Lounge less enjoyable for some of us aren't necessarily things that are against the rules and therefor don't seem worth mod-alerting. I think I have said it before--what seems to be lacking these days here is respect. It isn't just about the rudeness and the insults; those have always been here. You do it and Lord knows I have done my share. The difference is knowing when it is inappropriate and too often that simple little courtesy just doesn't exist. It took me taking a step back and realizing that I was starting to follow the same pattern to see how easy it is to lose that respect and I didn't like what I saw.

I've told other people who got upset here in the past that they didn't have thick enough skin to survive the Lounge. I always thought I'd never get involved with one of these "The Lounge isn't the same.." discussions either..then I'm always sucked back in, lol. I agree though...with what you first said. Some stuff is either too small to mod alert (but big enough to make the person feel bad/unwelcome) or it doesn't *technically* break the rules. I know there have been a few times in the past week or so I've seen a post that I've thought uncalled for but not necessarily bad enough to mod alert. I know the mods have their hands full already without me filling up their mod alert box with more problems.

FTM, I understand and agree with some of what you say. But no matter what you deem to be lack of respect or understanding, attacks, etc., the freedom all these people have to act like that is the same freedom everyone had when you used to like the lounge more. Nobody makes you come here.

I'm not a fan of the attacks, and they piss me off sometimes. I've voiced my opinions here and moreso somewhere else. You either have to tell them off or let it go. It's not worth your time beyond that.
