to SIGN UP, go to http://sgsb2.sona-systems.com
Please! Do not discuss the contents of ANY surveys for any reasons. A lot, if not most of them rely on your unbiasted opinion. Once you know what to expect, the opinion changes. These PHD candidates work very hard, so do not mess with their research. Thanx
Since details are not yet clear about how new website will operate, i will leave old tips up. Only thing i can add right now is, once you select the timeslot, it will not be tied to that. I was able to just select timeslot for 9am, and the comformation email i recieved contained direct link with the study being available.
If you already have some more details to add, please pm me and i will gladly add it
1st Ignore the points in the appointments tab, they are useless for us
2nd There are several types of paying surveys.
-Surveys where everyone gets paid (usually $5 Amazon GC)
-Surveys with lottery (prizes start at $25 Amazon GC to $100 Amazon GC)
-Surveys that pay with paypal(they will ask your address or you provide it at the end)
-Surveys that are paid with check being mailed to you...
FAQ
1. When are the surveys posted? In my experience, they are posted anytime!, but I have noticed that a lot of them show up at 6-7am.
2. Omg, I have missed the survey, what i'm i gonna do? 90% of surveys comeback a few times over the next few days(sometimes weeks)
3. What are these surveys that say I can't do them for various reasons? They are either designed for specific group of people who did some previous survey that you have not done, or some surveys are broken up into several parts(for different states/political affilication, etc)
If I forgot something or you have something useful to add, plz pm me and i will add it!
Now, lets wish everyone good luck in winning the lotteries!@

05/29/09 website states: Thank you for your interest in participating in our studies. Unfortunately we are not accepting new applicants at this time. Please check back at a later date.
LOOK AT THE END OF THIS FORUM FOR new studys
As of 3/28/08: Registration is open again.
The GSB Behavioral Lab has reached its maximum number of new participants and is not accepting applications presently. Registration will open again soon.
***NEW INFO as of 2/23/08: I emailed them, and they said they are opening up for new signups at the end of February, and would email me to sign up when they do, so it looks like there will be an opportunity to sign up very soon! yay!! -fadingfortune
[as of 3/7/08]i got an email from them that allowed me to sign-up using the link given in the email, only for selected participants. So if you emailed them inquiring when they were going to reopen the panel like i did, check your emails, you may have gotten an invite!
Due to some system changes, the GSB Behavioral Lab is not accepting new participant accounts at this time.
I went into this link today: http://stanfordpsychpaid.sona-systems.com ---Most of the ones on this sign up are actually performed at Stanford so it won't do as well as the original GSB signup link. They have a few every once in awhile in which will be online, but again, most of them are actually performed at Stanford. (em072205)
For the Stanford Psychology panel. It is a different link from the business school listed above, but still has lots of stanford surveys.

Hello,
Sometime ago you signed-up to receive announcements about paid research studies from the Stanford Graduate School of Business Behavioral Lab. The GSB Behavioral Lab is switching to a new participant and experiment management system and we hope you come with us to the new site! Sona Systems acquired Experimentrak.net a few months ago. Up until now, Sona Systems has allowed us to continue using Experimentrak. On June 30, however, Experimentrak.net will be shut down and replaced with our new Sona Systems site.
If you would like to continue participating in research studies conducted by the GSB Behavioral Lab , you will need to create a participant account on our new site. Creating the account is easy and takes less than 5 minutes. Please visit our new site at http://sgsb2.sona-systems.com. If you register an account before June 30, 2007, you will be entered into a drawing to win 1 of 75, $10 Amazon.com gift cards. (Detailed login information is provided at the bottom of this email.)
Please Note: We are unable to transfer over any information from Experimentrak including the list of your completed studies. If you want to keep this information, we recommend copying it before the Experimentrak.net site shuts down.
We hope you will join us on our new Sona Systems site! Please contact us at behaviorallab@gsb.stanford.edu if you have any questions/concerns
Best,
The GSB Behavioral Lab
thanks issysmom !

I got the URL for the CT survey and it says that I have 24 hours to complete it. I went to the survey's site and it says that it is closed and thanks for the interest. WTH???
It is only 4 hours after I received the email and I signed up for the survey. What's going on? Anyone did the survey already?
I also got the typo email, for $5 (more than 1 hour after I received the URL for the survey).
Yeah, not very good organized.

Cafeteria 3 froze and shut down IE:mad: ...I won't go back into it to re-do since I was already more than 15mins in so I emailed them, hopefully they can just send the last part:nod:
Cafeteria changed the screen on me, too. I got up for couple of seconds and when I got back (very, very quick!) I already had another screen/ other questions.

Can we post the URL for CT survey here? Mine ends in 97. Is it the same one for all?

The URL that they mailed to you for the CT survey, you need to click on that and take the survey, don't go to the Stanford site.
And the cafeteria survey was a timed survey....try using Firefox next time for your surveys...just a suggestion.

Hmmmm try a different browser and see what happens, if you get the same message, then I guess it is closed and they have enough responses...you can try emailing arattan@stanford.edu the person putting the survey on and asking her what the problem is.

Did anybody get the $10 GC for taking the Bar Names and Identities survey??? I see this person also added onto the description that it was for males only....after I had taken the survey, also he emailed me with this:
So hopefully this won't be another survey from Stanford that we will choke on
You have received this email because you are signed up for

appreciate it if you can let me know of the information.

Has anyone completed the "Your Opinions" study on the psych lab and been paid? I completed it on Feb 10 and haven't received anything. It's my first paid study for the psych so I'm not sure if it's supposed take this long or not.

I also took your opinions, on Jan. 31. I have not been paid yet. I did story telling and writing styles on Feb. 11 and have been paid. I believe payment occurs when the study is over so somewhere there is a grad student crunching their numbers, don't worry it will come.

Hello,
This email is regarding your participation in the “Cognition and Emotions” study. Our system alerted us that you participated in the study twice. Participating in a single study more than once is prohibited and subject to account cancelation. It is unfair to other participants and it threatens the validity of our studies. This is a notification that if you do not reply to this email within 48 hours with a valid explanation as to why you participated twice your account with be canceled.

I honestly think the onus is on GSB to set up a system that nobody gets offered the same survey twice. It is so easy to not remember what studies you did and when. Someone posted recently where they almost took a study for the second time and just happened to check their schedule only to see the study there already. I now make it a point of duty to check my schedule before signing up for any study. Hope you can successfully explain to them what happened.

I would tell them I didn't realize that I took the survey before and was not aware until i got the email as you thought it was the second part of the two part survey. I would also say that it has never happened before and is a genuine mistake which will never happen again as you will now make it your duty to check all studies before signing up. I have had them call me twice over the years on double studies ...one was before they had the new system ( they were wrong)
The other was on this system... I was wrong...I wrote to them and explained the mistake....they wrote back to say they understood and everything was cleared up ..of course I didn't receive payment for the second time ..I was so happy ...Now I check all the time under "my Studies" before I commit to any studies....
They really are nice ...good luck !!

The Cafeteria and CT#1 surveys just ended a few days ago, it usually takes them about 4-5 days sometime to get out the GC's

Anybody that took the Bar names and identities survey the guy told me it will take about 2 weeks to get all of the GC's out.

I took and haven't been paid yet:
Media and Learning (9) - $10
Bar Names and Identities - $10 (I received an email that even if I am a woman and took the test, because it was their fault, I will be paid) ... ummm, when?
*CT_Survey #1 - $5
Cafeteria Study 3 - $10
Attitudes, opinions, and social situations - $5
Consumer Decision Making (DO-2) - the link completely disappeared from my schedule! I only have the name, so I can't remember if it was paid or not (I remember that there were some problems with this study)
I only got paid for Story telling and writing styles - $5. How long does it take them to pay??? I am not even talking about the drawing ones, how can we tell if they even pay someone ...

I'll make sure you'll be in the lottery for the rewards anyway. No need to

Here's what I had asked her:
Hi,
I was part way through this study and when I clicked next it took me
back to the GSB sign in page. It happened when I clicked next on the
page where it asked if things were characteristic of you. Should I try
to take it again or is there a problem with that study?
