I just done a 1001 that paid. $3. Since the drop 1001's can be either pay or sweep. If it's sweep I don't do them.

I must say the last 3 surveys,paying mind you, have taken me under 10 min. to finish. HH's take about 5 now. Hopefully they keep it that way.

You have to email Karen, and take it from there.

i personally would just send the one part of the PT back. IF they write in the future say it got thrown away because you werent warned ahead of time to send it back.

this forum is too long to look for and i can think of a good way to search for it so ill just ask it and see if someone will respond. just because you say yes doesn't mean you will get it. email karen and she will let you know if you should be paid for you surveys or not, she is pretty fast with responses. i have never known that i was getting a pt it just showed up at my door within about 2 weeks or so, hope this helps.

I miss the $5 survey days, although this week I've done 2 I AGREE "paying" surveys.

(You won't know if you're doing a PT until it shows up at your door. All the surveys "suggest" you might get one from the manufacturer)

NO NO!!, I recently completed 2 surveys, that ended with 1001 and I wrote them about my payment and they said that it was for the sweepstakes and it was stated in the email...I feel played because I thought you get paid for every 1001 one, boy was I wrong ;)

This has dried up for me, only got about 6 paying surveys since the beginning of the year and 0 PTs.

Odd. I signed up for Pinecone at the beginning of April and since then I've received 9 paying surveys and 1 pt. I can't remember ever receiving a survey I haven't gotten paid for either. Is this not normal? :confused:

I have gotten quite a few non paying ones.
and I HATE the furniture ones but unfortunately those are the only ones that have been paying for me.

and I haven't gotten a PT from them all year.

I get 1 or 2 paying surveys from them a month and a couple of the screeners that put you into the "sweepstakes" a month also.

Just got 2 surveys in 1 afternoon after doing a HQ this morning.

They said since it was "longer than usual" they were paying $5 vs $3. It was a bit longer than usual but not obscenely long- just kinda repetitively annoying.

i have a question.. I switched my payment method to paypal, and have been receiving $3 payments for a week or two without anything out of the ordinary, but one payment I received today (for a survey i took yesterday) for $3 says " Pinecone Research Participant Payment – Product Return" .. does that mean I might get a PT, or did they just goof up? That doesn't seem like enough to cover return shipping for anything :confused:

i used to be a member but then i stopped doing surveys and they stopped sending them

I don't believe that you can rejoin, once you are off you are off.

A hurricane hit down here a few years ago and I ended up being without internet access for months; when I was finally able to get online again I tried to log in and found that I couldn't. I just assumed they dropped me since I hadn't done any of the surveys they had sent, and ended up applying again with a different e-mail address, it was basically the same looking e-mail address but with a different provider. I've been a member again since 2006.

I've gotten 3 surveys this week from them, and this morning they send me a referral link to send to friends. I have a few who signed up, Im sure they will be as happy w/ them as I have been.

I keep getting emails from them trying to get me to switch to Paypal payments.. they already dropped me down to $3 a survey, though I am getting 3 or 4 times the surveys I used to, but I like getting my checks.... I hope they don't eventually force me to use Paypal....

I still :heart: my checks too and I keep getting the emails. I don't have a paypal account because I work and go to school and would have no time to manage it. Buzzback is now starting with the paypal garbage as well, which upsets me, checks are so much easier since I have to go to the bank once a week to cash/deposit my paycheck anyway.

When you get your survey you will get your household ID number and password...You can use that to log onto the site and update your profiles.

They start you off with receiving checks, you will get one after you complete the survey. Then if you want to go paypal, you need to email Karen and let her know.

I think your first survey is your profile, When you receive and complete your first survey log in and request paypal if thats what you want, I think they make it automatic now. You typically receive payment 1-2 days after completing a study during the weekday. Hope that helps

You have to use the product for like a week or two then they send you the survey invite.

and yes you do get paid for the follow up survey, and if they asked you to send back the product (which they do sometimes) you get money for that too.

From my understanding they are no longer taking USA sign-ups. You just have to keep checking for when it reopens.

3001s are almost never paid, 1001s and 2001s are almost always paid, others you have to read the email.

received a weird email today saying they :forgot" to ask some questions on one of the surveys and asked me to complete the rest of the questions. It was directly related to a pt i did but i havent taken the pt survey yet.. so it was a bit weird. anyway though.. confused about that but happy to have received a check today in the mail from last weeks survey. :)

Goosie, perhaps the same survey for me today b.c i LOVED the product (really want a pt but wont hold my breath!) but the survey was sooo short. It showed it as a 1001 survey and said the whole thing about your compensation should arrive within a couple days so i have to assume it was a paying.

But, he is not getting a lot of surveys, possibly 1 every 2 weeks, paid 1 time $3 in June, no PT and DNQ for many. I believe that research companies need more male participants rather than female ones.

You have to receive and cash one paper check before you can switch over to paypal. Once the check clears back to them you can ask to be switched over to Paypal.

No they quit that and people who didn't agree to the $3 and sweepstakes were booted. It's confusing how they say they are growing so much but decide to cut the payouts, I guess maybe to be able to accommodate more members they had to reduce the amount paid per survey....:confuse3:

My friend did get booted. He did agree to the $3, and mostly ALL of his PT required him to send them back and he always did very quickly.

I thought you can always email them. That's what it says in the faq when you don't receive your pt.

hey i got paid for the same survey twice. has anyone ever had that happen? what should i do, keep it, or email karen?

i checked on my paypal and it has the same survey number and two different transactions.

Maybe they sent you the payment for the survey I did on Saturday.....:lol:

I usually get paid for surveys I do on the weekends on Monday mornings. I did skip a question about something but usually if that's now allowed they don't let you do it.

I thought you can always email them. That's what it says in the faq when you don't receive your pt.


If you look at the PT question, it just asks if you would be interested. I consider myself lucky, I have been with pinecone about 1 and 1/2 years, and have received about 20 PTs, and have done about 200 surveys. I have about a 1:10 PT to survey ratio, which most would consider good. I would say the average is about 1:18. I just read the FAQ and it says nothing about tht.


Can test product samples be given to friends or relatives living outside my home to try?
Unfortunately, no. This includes other family members who do not live in your immediate household. The test product sample is intended for use by the panelist. Manufacturers are very anxious to protect any new products from the eyes of their competition. That is why we ask that you evaluate new products within your own household and not share them or discuss them with your friends, neighbors or relatives living outside the home.

If I update my address before I receive my notice that product samples are on the way, will it be delivered to my new address?
Panelists are assigned to a project three to four days before the study goes online on our website. Unfortunately, if your address is not updated prior to the time you are assigned to the study, then the old address will be used.

Will I ever be asked to return a test product sample?
Upon occasion manufacturers will request the retrieval of any remaining test product samples from the study. It is sometimes very important for manufacturers to see how a product holds up after typical use. Should a manufacturer make the decision to retrieve any remaining test product samples, you will be notified by mail and e-mail.

I would not suggest emailing Karen for every PT you don't receive, as they have an abundence of members, and they do often cut people out of the panel for things like that,

It is the latest 20 you took, if you took more than 20 the older surveys will start falling off.

i wish i would get one of their PT, i get that same thing at the end of most of the surveys i do for them, but never has a PT shown up...

Wow I do not know what happened, but I have gotten 6 study interviews in the last month! I hope this keeps up. I usually only get 1 or 2 per month. I have been a member since 2001. I just wish I could have gotten some PT to go with them! Pinecone is my favorite!

I have applied several times but have not heard back. Then, my DH signed up and received acceptance the next day. He's getting 1 or 2 surveys a month and no PT yet. So, if your demographics fits to certain ones, it would be yours one day. Good luck.

I just joined and got two different trials - one for dog food and one for some cheddar crackers (that taste awwwful).

I've also done various surveys and already gotten 3 checks in the mail for $3 each. Not bad, I say!

Yes.

It has a link to refer other people and apparently everyone is sent the same link so you don't get any kind of referral bonus or anything for trferring people.

I've been with Pinecone for years... they always pay on time, and don't use the paypal method!! I'd rather get the real check in the mail then worry about paypal skimming money off me,

There is nothing deducted by paypal for the Pinecone payments. You get 100% of the amount.

it's not them that skim money it's others. mine have been $3 and i get them the next day.

eh, id hate to go to the bank to deposit a few $3 checks.....paypal is the way to go....

I like the actual checks (I don't use paypal). I've never had a problem taking the small checks to the bank, I usually wait until I have a few, then take them by. If I used PayPal I might take that option, but I am not a paypal fan lol.

not that long she is quick, i used to do that but have since switch get my money the next day.

my husband did a survey and two days later we had the check in the mail. very quick.

I get paid via paypal but used to receive checks in the mail. It took a few days, give or take a day, depending where you live. They pay fast.

I haven't gotten any surveys from Pinecone since I was accepted to the panel about 3 weeks ago. Is this typical? I know it's all about demographics but how frequently do those of you who are members usually get surveys?

I'm a bit peeved at Pinecone at the moment. I had tech difficulties with a couple of their surveys recently and when I wrote to let them know about it the response I got was that the survey wasn't available anymore. I'm like "Hello! It was available when I took it and due to difficulties with how it was set up I had problems!"

The last one I had trouble with were surveys was one of the new kind they've sent occasionally where you just click on the link and don't have to sign in with any info before you take them.

I missed one. It said it was available that day. I took it later that night, emailed them and they said it was gone and to wait for another one. I do believe they mentioned that there would be some where you would only get a limited time to do them; does anyone recall this?

In the email invite they send you, they tell you when the survey expires. I've noticed it's usually about 48 hours.
