I'm taking the longest Pinecone survey ever!! It should be worth wayyyy more then $3!! :( Soooo annoying!

Actually, I've been happy with Pinecone lately. I hadn't had a survey for a looong time, but then all of a sudden, I've gotten a lot of them lately and they've been paying within a day. Very nice.

I never see when they allow signing up, I check it on a daily basic but no sign up.

Pinecone has been paying QUICK. Twice in the last two weeks I have gotten paid the same day I took a survey. Awesome!

I took one the other day that was at LEAST 30 minutes long (and I'm fast at these)...got a whopping $3 for it. That's less than minimum wage where I live. If this is the direction Pinecone is going, the $3 is not worth it to me. Neither is the sweepstakes entry that no one seems to win.

I think it's pretty safe you are going to be removed from the panel at this point.

I don't think it's random, I think it is determined based on the demographics they are looking for on certain products. Within the demographic it may be random if they have more in that demographic than they have products to test.

Several months back I got a survey for something Beer related. I so hoped for it to be a PT. It never came. I always wondered though if anyone ever got to test it. Looked kinda neat.

I always thought they gave you the product tests based on how you answer the questions and is surely is demographically based too

I've been with them since about 2000 or 2001 and most of their surveys are PTs. Their surveys used to be short and sweet though...now they are longer. Last week I did one which was HORRIBLE...took about 30 minutes for a PT screener!

It all depends on the survey. Your honest answers could be a major factor in determining if you receive a PT or not. Anyway...I think all their paid surveys ask if you like to participate in a PT, even the ones that you know is impossible for them to send (if you've been around and done certain surveys, you'll know what I mean).

I do not get pt's anymore or have not lately, but took a survey late last night and here my pay was already in the email the next day so nice

A few months ago it seemed like I stopped receiving invites from them but when I logged into my account, there was some available to take. Then out of the blue, I couldn't login to my account so I emailed them a few times until I got a response but they responded with that I was flagged to having multiple accounts or something. Thing is, I have one account, the same account I've had with them for the past 6yrs or so. I've changed my address a few times from moving but that's it. I ended up reapplying with another email account but haven't heard a peep back from them.

You might have been deactivated becouse you mention you and your husband. Only one person from household is allowed to be signed up and they do eventually find out .

I of course liked it much better at $5 a survey, but a I will say I get alot more surveys now and a ton of test products from them which are a nice incentive for me plus they always pay, and fast unlike some others that take months to pay or make you take half the survey and then disqualify you and you get paid nothing! much worse places out there IMO

Sometimes they will just drop you for no reason and dont even have the courtesy to tell you why or even that they dropped you. When i did finally contact them they said they had plenty of applicants already in my demographic. In 4 years they never asked me to update my info so how would they even know what demographic i currently fit into. You dont drop existing respondents for that reason, you simply dont take more that fit in that demographic. I think it was because i was getting $5 a survey when others were doing them for sweepstakes but do you expect a survey company to have the integrity or honesty to say that was the reason.


Oh OP i reread your post they probably banned you for multiple accounts and didnt tell you. Eventhough when you probably signed up you were allowed to have an account for each familly member. They wont reinstate it even if it was their mistake.

I wonder why people complain about Pinecone and the compensation? There are not to many survey sites that pay on a regular basis $3.00 for 15 minutes work. The pinecone surveys are easy to do, you always qualify and the surveys are laid out similar to each other, so they are a breeze to do. I love the PT also!

It is true we are lucky to have it, but I also loved the other points made here.

I get maybe one a week which pertains to what products I buy, then maybe one or two studies to complete. Had two product tests in December but prior to that it has been few and far between.

Just received a Household Survey today, and already did 1 paid survey this month. They are still alive. One reason why you might not be receiving any surveys is due to you not completing them in a timely manner or not one of the people (demographic) they are looking for to complete a paid survey.

I just quit doing surveys for them. I was getting average of 4 a week, but not getting "compensated" for all of them that I should have (I know some of them are just entries into drawings and some are for their own records, so you don't get paid for them). Unfortunately it got to be too big of a headache for $3.

I love PC myself love getting the little $3 checks haha

Used to get surveys once a week and a PT every so often, then it went to 2 times a month, then to once a month, then one every couple of months and now it's every 3 or 4 months. Not sure why but as others have said, the $3 compensation isn't all that much so I don't really care. They also aren't always short surveys that only last 15 minutes. The ones I usually get are 30-40 minutes long and they have started merging several products into one survey. You know the ones where you look at the product concept and then type what you like, dislike, and a bunch of other questions, then they move on to another product. Maybe that's why I get so few of them, they are getting cheap.

You probably need to stick w/ them a tad longer, consistently replying to surveys they send you and stuff. I didn't get product trials until a significant time (maybe a year) after I joined them.

I got 2 PT one month after I joined but got nothing afterwards (I were qualified for 7 other PT but received nothing). I think that sometimes, it depends on demographics and total number of testers needed.

i joined last february & i get at least 1 pt every 2 months, sometimes as many as 3. & i think i do at least 2 surveys every 2 weeks.

I was getting a nice flow of surveys from them in Dec but the lull seems to have started again.

yay! i got a PT! It's my 2nd PT with them and I've been with them for awhile- almost 2 years. I do get a decent amount of paid surveys from them, but PTs have been very scarce.

Oh well, I had another yesterday for a possible pt and focus group, so I'm not complaining. I'd love to win that $5000 prize!! :lol:

I completely agree. My payments are sent to my paypal account which I only check once or month to so to transfer survey/cashback/whatever profit to my checking account and I'm usually surprised at the amount of money I get from Pinecone since it doesn't really feel like I do that much for them.

I don't have a problem with it. I have done PT through a number of different companies and have never had a problem. I might rethink that if I had allergies or sensitive skin.

No, because they always have contact information for the companies on or with the product. These aren't no-name companies either. I've never had any adverse affects either.

I got it the other day too. I accidently clicked male, when really I am a female. I contacted them hoping they could reset the survey so I could take it, and they did nothing, but a canned message apologizing for the technically difficulty.

Question for other Pineconers...For fear of losing a reliable survey and PT site I opted for the $3 incentive when PC made their last "improvement", but I know some of you stayed with the $5 incentive.

So it's been a while now, anyone still at that $5 level and getting surveys?

I dropped to the $3 level and it was the best decision I ever made. I get more surveys from them now than I ever did at the $5 level and more PT's.

I also dropped to the $3.00 level and get so many more surveys, more than I got at $5.00

I rarely get surveys from them and I'm at the $3 level as well.

ditto. I think I get more now at $3 than I ever did at $5. Plus now they do Paypal which saves me time cashing a check @ the bank. Paypal is accepted so many places, so I usually just let the $3 deposits sit until I need to get something on eBay or Buy.com

I get them when I least expect them and they're always $3, but those checks sure do come quick.

I'm doing a survey for them now that feels like it's never going to end and it should pay a hell of a lot more then $3. I've been working on it for a half and hour and that's with only a break to make this post..... :mad:

I've had that happen before. Most surveys from them are pretty reasonable but every now and then I'll get a ridiculously long survey. One time I actually gave up on the survey, went to bed, and then finished it the next morning. I just couldn't deal with it any longer.

Same here but I kept trying and finally made it! Don't lose hope sign up again and eventually you will make it to.;)

I said it because that's what it lead to. Also, a friend completed the survey and received the same offer, so just giving a heads up. :)

PineCone Research is a new products panel. As such, we ask for your opinions on product ideas for items that are not generally available to the public. In exchange for the opportunity to tell manufacturers your opinion about these products, we require that you sign a security agreement at the front of each and every interview. This agreement is legally binding and states that you will keep the information that you saw in the interview confidential. It further states that you will promise not to copy, print or download any part of the interview or the pictures shown to you. It also states your agreement that others in your household will keep this information confidential.

In addition, you confirm that you and any one in your immediate household and family are not employed in a consumer package goods company, marketing researcher or advertising industry. Falsification of this information may be grounds for legal action.

We take this agreement seriously and require that you do so as well. Failure to do so, will result in your immediate removal from the panel and may be grounds for legal action.

Some of our members have been tempted to discuss products and their experiences on chat rooms and bulletin boards on-line or encouraged others seeking membership to misrepresent themselves during the registration process. don't read it but I also never discuss their surveys here or anywhere else...just common sense...and it was better when it was $5 a pop!

Every single survey I do says the same thing as does every single survey that every pinecone member does. But only some members will receive the product. It's impossible to give a heads up since you can't discuss what the survey is about.
