is there a way to block access to the coupon forum.. or mainly the sticky staples and dell threads to people that aren't logged in. I know this wont solve the problem of lurkers snaking posted one-time use coupons, but at least it will slow it down a bit because they'll be forced to register and be logged in to access the thread. Any ideas, comments or suggestions to this idea?

either you post your coupon in the forum and accept that a lurker takes it, or you dont post the coupon but just tell that you have one and have interested slickdealers pm you, so you can decide who gets the coupon.

and what's wrong with a lurker getting the coupon anyways? it's still a person you will never meet who saves some money. Just cuz you don't get any rep from it?

hahaha rep is lame, i'm just trying to help keep one time use coupons for our members. You will rarely ever see me asking for a coupon, and second caring about rep points is lame and you will never find one instance of me mentioning them or asking for one.. so NEXT
Edit: my only complaint was with the 1 time use coupon threads like Dell and Staples. If it's a unique code that the members of this site receive and are kind enough to post in slickdeals forums then I feel only registered users of this site should have access to those codes because they can't be passed on elsewhere. At least if some one has to sign up to get a code, then maybe they will start giving back once they get something they don't need or won't be using. Personally I PM my Staples codes because they're harder to come by. Everyone and their mother gets the Dell SMB emails and coupons. If you don't like this idea there's no reason to personal attack me for it. I'm just throwing something out there, that hasn't been mentioned in this forum.

I agree best way to avoid this is by using PM. We have so many members on this board looking for deals you could post your coupon and ask for a PM and I'd be willing to bet you wouldn't have to wait any more than 24 hours (depending on how good the coupon is). You could even do a search on the board and find a user looking for a deal that the coupon would help and PM it to him, or search "Help me Find a Deal" section. There are many ways around losing your coupon to a lurker if that's what you're worried about...
