Study Description: This is a 2-part survey on decisions and opinions, with Part 2 to be completed 2 weeks after Part 1. You will answer questions about what you would do in challenging situations, evaluate an online dating web site, answer some shopping questions, and answer other types of questions that ask how you feel or what you think. Part 1 will take approximately 30 minutes, and Part 2 will take approximately 10 minutes. How often do surveys show up? I've been a member for about 6 mo but when I check there's no surveys there to take.

Surveys are posted very erratically (based on my limited experience). Sometimes it can be months before a new study is posted while at other times two studies can pop up in a week (like the ones last week). The studies fill up fast - within hours of it being posted here on SD.
Hint: You can sign up for a CLER deal alert and that way you will get instantly notified when a new study is posted.

Yes I did along time ago probably about 2-3 weeks after study just like always..

I had to email them, but they didn't reply, so I called them. They told me they would look into the matter, and shortly afterward they sent this message to me:

"We apologize for the delay in responding to your emails. You had not received reimbursement for this study because they had already been sent out and unfortunately our staff does not decide who we send them out to. For future reference, researchers do not send reimbursements to everyone who signed up for an online study. Participants must complete the survey and give thoughtful, honest answers in order to receive reimbursements (for example someone who finishes a 15-min study in 5 mins will not be reimbursed). Another reason someone might not receive reimbursement is because the passcode they typed in to the survey when prompted to do so was not the same as the one the CLER system gives participants before the start of the survey. In this cases, survey responses can’t be linked to that participant without the proper passcode."

The survey took me about 20-25 minutes to complete, and I'm pretty sure the correct passcode was entered, so who knows what happened?

Anyway, following their message was a courtesy $5 Amazon code.

I got paid for it...was lost in a jumble of other Amazon GCs in the folder...BUT the one 12/10 I still have not been paid for.

Password must be at least 8 characters long.

:facepalm: I don't know how so many people misunderstood my post. I wasn't questioning why mine didn't come, or the order in which they sent them ( if there even is one ), nor even if the size had anything to do with the order of the checks being mailed.

I was just saying I was excited to see if mine comes tomorrow, as although I'm always happy to see even small checks like 5 bucks, a larger one this size isn't usual for me for such a short study. The "extra" was what got me excited. Checks of that size aren't an every day occurance for me for doing short studies, only longer ones or having built up points on a site to "cash out." I wasn't worried about it not coming today since a lot depends on the area of the country you live in as to how quickly mail is delivered.

Just excited was all, not anxious about it not coming today, nor even very curious as to why or why not. Sorry if people thought I was asking why, wanted help or an explanation, or needed reassurance.

My bank is the issuing bank. I'm taking it to the window and cashing it. This one is not getting deposited.

Man that sucks. I haven't got mine in the mail yet, so I'll see if mine is the same way. That's a pretty far post-date though. Alot of banks might have a problem with this or think it's suspicious. Definitly don't just deposit in ATM. Like the other person said, take it inside to the bank teller. In some cases, they can call the account holder to verify the check.

got mine today 3/24/10 cash by 6/30/10 hand written, very happy with my amount.

I'm pretty sure my bank ( BOA ) won't cash it if it's postdated. Mine hasn't come yet, but this news put a damper on my excitement.


BOA is really picky. I once sent my gf to the bank when I had flu to deposit my pay check using a counter deposit ticket since I was out of personalized ones. I'm pretty sure my bank ( BOA ) won't cash it if it's postdated. Mine hasn't come yet, but this news put a damper on my excitement.


BOA is really picky. I once sent my gf to the bank when I had flu to deposit my pay check using a counter deposit ticket since I was out of personalized ones. My Bank cashed it with no problem, the check is drawn on the Bank of America..

Mine came today and the date on it is fine. ( 3/24/10 ). Relieved to have it and know I can easily deposit it now.

Got my check today for the monetary gambles decision study. . . it's post-dated 12/24/10. Looks like it was filled in by one person (grad student or something) and then signed by the professor in charge. Anyone else have the same problem? My bank most likely won't let me cash it, right?

Well hopefully no one else had the same mistake I did, but I just emailed the contact person who was listed on the letter that was sent with the payment. I'm just sending the check back & they're going to issue me a new one. Should be an easy fix.

I think SD pulled and April Fools on us! Mine was too so I tried to edit my post and came up with a blue screen and it restarted. Hope it is an April Fools joke anyways. Your post is not backwards to me, it is only the person who posted it that sees it upsidedown and backwards LOL

Thanks, I forgot all about April Fools! I kept looking like why is my post the only one that is upside down AND backwards. I thought something had happened to my computer! :lol:

yea me too haha I was running virus programs and everything. If you hit edit it will bring up a blue screen and act like there is something wrong with your computer and reboot, thought I got a trojan or something LOL

NP hope it helps, I never get study invites or anything it seems like I just have to check it or wait to see if someone posts on here. I suppose the surveys could have certain demographic requirements which might be why it either does or doesn't show....

How often does this company send out surveys, once or twice a year? I'm trying to see if there's any point in me being signed up.

I got about 5 or 6 in 2010 so yea not that many, but they are reliable as far as paying (within 30 days).

Ok, well, ever since CLER has gotten more active, based on suggestions and approval from administration, I have decided to start this.

I will post few things i noticed in the last year with CLER, if you have something to add, use wiki and if it's worthwhile i'll add to OP.

1. You MUST provide SSN or other means for them to track $. Don't like it, fine, but it won't change.

2. Most of their studies have different requirements and limited slots, so do not wait, as soon as you see new study posted, signup and let others know.

3. Payments are usually done in Amazon GC or Money order(sometimes a choice).

4. I recieved last payment within 10 days of completing the study, in past, on average it was 3-4 weeks, so give it time.

5. Their studies are full of tricky things, if you took the last study you would know what i mean, so always do them HONESTLY or you will be removed.

6. As usual, unless specifially told, always assume that survey contents/topics are confidentical. Do not talk about the details, as it will influence others!
