I signed up for this a while ago when I had a subscription. They took a while to start sending surveys, but they are super easy. Usually just an ad that appeared in the magazine & a couple of questions. The book usually take a while to come too, I think after every 2 surveys, I get 2 books together in the mail. But worth it for what little time you'll take to get free books.

perhaps you could send Scholastic an email to find out why they aren't giving you any surveys

got another survey also but I'm guessing it's a "young" book. How does one get free scholastic books for 8 year olds?

mom3times
03-13-2009, 07:51 AM
I don't know if you can. This panel is through Scholastic Parent and Child which is a mag for parents of pre-schoolers. I still get the mag even though my youngest is 8 because, well, he still likes that kinda stuff! The book I just got was called Playground Problems, its about boys not wanting the girls to play soccer with them. I think its okay for an 8 year old. The one before that was Max the Garbage Dog. I like these books even though they aren't necessarilly his age level because he'll read these to me since they are quick.

I feel the same way. I just do the surveys because they are so short, and it's a nice surprise for my daughter to get the books in the mail. So far we've gotten around 5 or 6. The same ones mentioned in the thread. It seems as if the past few ones have beeen more for older children. My daughter is 3, and the red white and boo one is way too much for her.
