The wii looks like a lot of fun but I am not sure if I will like it or not.
Is there anywhere that I can rent it? Or can I buy it at Walmart and see if I like it? If I don't like it, would Walmart consider taking it back for store credit?
I believe they would...but console returns will be picky as it's limited and they check the serial number so that it matches to assure you don't scam them..but wrong forum by the way :)

um,,, why don't you just go to a eb and play it there... i'm almost positive you have a friend that has one... i mean the odds of someone you know having one is pretty high.
but since it is the holiday and there's no sealing tape on the wii package, you might be able to get away with simply returning it. but of course you'd be an ass for doing this cause they'd just turn it around and resell it and whoever buys it is going to be pissed.

I definitely understand where you're coming from. Was never going to get a wii until my friend got it and invited me over to play some Twilight Princess.
I'd say try to make friends with someone who owns one, or who'd let you try it (at their house) for a bit, to see if you enjoy it. If not that, ask a gamestop associate if they allow people to use their own games on the display Wii. (for best results ask when it's quiet/not busy in the store.) if so, go rent a wii game, bring it in and test it out. I've heard stories like this and others with very strange results. But it could work.
Haven't heard of people renting consoles out for a long time. the Playstation was like the last console for rent.

just buy one and try it! If you don't like it, sell it used and you still might make some profit.

Easiest way is to go to Gamestop. Or go volunteer at a retirement home.

I'd go buy it at costco/samsclub since they have good return policy. I'm sure walmart is pretty easy too.

You can easily sell it on craigslist for what you paid for it if you don't like it. They're going for like 320+ new on ebay. You can also open it and carefully set it up and then repackage it exactly how it was, no blister packs or anything, so returning it shouldn't be too tough.

Really depends on where you are. If theres lots of wiis in stock, I'm sure you won't be able to do that, but if you can find it and it's hard, you should be able to resell. I'd still return at walmart/costco/sams since it seems easier.

You should check your walmart. At my walmart in the section that use to be the garden section its now Christmas and they had the Wii, Xbox 360 & PS3 set up to play. I actually got to try Rock Band on the drums last night, pretty fun.

For UK customers there's a website:
www.rentawii.co.uk (http://www.rentawii.co.uk)
Hope that helps.
