How about making a vacation section were people can keep tabs on hot vacation deals? We all need a vacation.

Hot deals - IMHO it's not necessary to slice and dice the deals into categories, like travel, computers, audio, video, housewares, groceries, clothing, books, furniture, automotive, etc..

Ok, how's this? A sticky with links to other websites that have constantly updated travel deals. And then have sections, like for general: travelzoo.com, for cruises: these 2 websites, for rental cars: these 4 websites, etc.

'Cause otherwise, the SlickDeals 'Travel Deals' Forum is just gonna turn into another one of those websites, and would have to be constantly updated with new deals, and expired deals taken out, etc. etc. And who's gonna do all that? If we have 1 sticky (a la the Recommended Software List) then we won't need to be constantly updating it.

Great!!! I can send some GREAT deals to Slick Dealers. I get ALL the E-mails from travel places. I've seen some awesome deals and would love to share them. :)

start deals in the hotdeals. best way to get our attention. if the hot deals get overrun with travel deals, then we can see there is enough interest in them to start a sub forum/forum for them. sometimes even the best ideas die from non use (ie product reivews)
