I have 4 rep points that were given to me...but do not have the green icon lit next to them why is that?

Probably if the people stay members. I wouldn't actually know though...

That's to prevent people from signing up multiple times just to give themselves rep points. Once those people "establish" themselves (i.e., make more posts) then the rep points they gave you will... ah, 'mature.'

not positive whether they become green after awhile. i believe they do, but can't say for sure.
