What is The Drugstore and Grocery Store B&M Deals & Discussion Forum?

The purpose of the Drugstore and Grocery Store B&M Deals & Discussion Forum is to provide a community where people can talk about getting the best deals at the three largest drugstore chains in the USA, Walmart, Target, and the many regional grocery stores across the nation.

Many people shop these drugstores and grocery stores because they often feature deals and offers that can have you getting many items or free, or even have them "pay" you to buy the product. This can help to reduce your "needs" bill every month by at least 50%!

Drugstore Guidelines

Before posting, read the FAQ for the drugstore you are interested in (CVS (http://slickdeals.net/forums/showthread.php?sduid=5936&t=676935), Walgreens (http://slickdeals.net/forums/showthread.php?sduid=5936&t=727956), Rite-Aid (http://slickdeals.net/forums/showthread.php?sduid=5936&t=727988))

It is appropriate to start a new thread when:
You are the first to post the new weekly or monthly ad, OR
If you have a deal that IS NOT part of the weekly ad (for example, a hidden ECB or RR deal).
It is not appropriate to start a new thread when:
You want to highlight a deal that is part of an ad for which there is already a discussion, OR
You want to ask a question about a specific deal.
Please ask in the weekly and/or monthly thread that contains the deal you have a question for. This helps to keep the site organized.
Grocery Store Guidelines

Go to the list of grocery store threads (http://slickdeals.net/forums/showpost.php?p=10586719#anchgrocery), find the appropriate store and region, and enter the thread
The threads are organized by region because grocery store deals arey typically regional.

Read and follow the guidelines for that particular thread.

It is appropriate to start a new thread:
If and only if there is not already a "master thread" for your grocery store.
You should use the "grocery" icon.
You should be willing to keep up with the weekly and monthly ads for the store, or we will change the OP to someone more active.
It is not appropriate to start a new thread when:
There is already a "master thread" for the grocery store. If you have a new deal for a store that already has a master thread, post the new deal in there.
Question Guidelines

Make sure that you "personal sticky" the question and use the question icon.

Mods will lock the thread once the mods have decided that you have received a sufficient answer.

General Guidelines

A good post is one that helps other users by:
explaining how to go through with a deal ("product x works in acquiring ECB y")
provides details to help evaluate a deal ("product x is regularly priced at $y")
confirms that a deal works in your area, or that it is YMMV
directs users to the appropriate FAQ to find answers to common questions
A bad post is one that:
Includes an attachment of a CVS coupon (.pdf, .doc, etc.)
Advocates any type of dishonest behavior, including (but not limited to) fraud. For example, inappropriate purchasing and returning, using coupons to buy gift cards, etc.
Discusses (or even hints at) bad traders.
Begs for a coupon
Off Topic posts will be moved to the BS thread.

As opposed to Hot Deals and most other areas here on slickdeals, the wiki's here have different rules:

For all CVS, Walgreens, and Rite Aid Threads:
All wiki's that have the CVS, Walgreens, or Rite Aid icons are open to all users and you may edit those at any time. This is because they are major national chains that have separate threads for weekly ads which are given to us by many different users. Due to this, we cannot give special preference to the OP or assign any special teams for these threads. Also, mods may need to step in at any time to edit the wiki. As a general rule, we have many more issues that pop up in the drugstore threads due to the fact the stores are nationwide.

For Grocery Icon Threads and Select Specialty Chat Threads:
Due to the number of grocery and specialty chat threads here and the regional nature of many grocery store threads, many wiki's for these will be off limits to everyone except for special people designated by the OP to work on the wiki. This is because these wiki's are often very complex and carry more info than your typical wiki in Hot Deals and the weekly ads for the drugstores. This is is a user driven site and not a mod driven site and many of the grocery stores are in areas where there is no mod in that area (thus they are not familiar with the policies and how a particular regional grocery store works).

Also, the specialty chat threads often are done by users who are willing to commit their valuable time to give you the tools to be able to properly do the deals at the drugstores and grocery stores. Without their hard work, it would be that much harder (and more time on your part) to get the tools needed to do these deals. Please note that chat threads created for the sake of having off topic discussion (i.e. Safeway Chat and Shaw's Chat) are excluded from having their wiki's off limits.

Keep in mind these tools are all done user created - the mods here do not spoon feed you the deals unlike other sites. This is because we believe you better understand how the deals work if you actually do them and then come back here to let everyone know your experience. Also, we believe that everyone taking the time to help each other out saves everyone time in the long run and helps to create a community, which is big reason why this has become one of the most popular sites to get your Drugstore / Grocery Store information.

Wiki's that are confirmed to be off limits to regular users:

1. Printable Manufacturer's Coupon Compilation
2. Kroger Deals
3. Alphabetical List of Unexpired Newspaper Coupons
4. Official PUBLIX (AL, FL, GA, SC, TN) Deals Thread. No OT please! (2nd wiki only)

If a wiki is confirmed to be off limits to regular users, it means you cannot edit the wiki and it must be done by a special team member. In these threads you are to post in the thread and ask for information to be added to the wiki. These are threads where the OP and special team members are very active in helping to keep the wiki organized and up to date.

Even us mods are not allowed in unless we get permission, and then any issues are usually addressed during late night hours (EDT) to avoid a major disruption to the thread.

If your thread has an active OP and/or special team members who will keep the wiki up to date on a regular basis - please let me know and I will add this to the list. Keep in mind your thread must be a grocery store thread and/or special thread with the chat icon (i.e. Printable Manufacturer's Coupon Compilation).

We reserve the right to open up the wiki to all if you as an OP are not active and/or your special team becomes inactive. We highly encourage the OP to be active in any grocery store / specialty chat thread so that the thread may prosper.

UPDATE:

Wiki's are vital tools for sharing information. The very purpose of their design is to be free for anyone to edit them. Users should never be chastised for sharing information in the wikis.

The only thing a thread starter has control over is their own post and the request for thread removal. All wikis, with the exception of the printable coupons thread (http://slickdeals.net/forums/showthread.php?sduid=5936&t=2297891) in this forum, may be edited by anyone.

Why is the printables wiki an exception? Because it is being used as a database and has documented data loss. The good news is that we are working on a solution. (http://slickdeals.net/forums/showthread.php?sduid=5936&t=2818901)
