Why not keep a couple of stickies for commonly posted deals (I'm thinking for DVD-media or CD-media deals)? In addition, you could have automatic filters that would automatically add any new posts about blank media deals to an already existing thread, and perhaps even format them correctly. It'd be a lot easier to find deals this way, and wouldn't clutter every 5th post with "DVD-R $3,000 for 1 TY". Alternatively, you could make stickies that are automatically updated where the thread only contains a list of post subjects and links to the posts regarding the blank media. So if someone starts a thread saying "Fuji DVD+R $15 for 200 at OfficeMax", you could have the stick thread say:

Posted DVD Thread Subject Link
_______________________________________________________
2/4/05 Fuji DVD+R $15 for 200 at OfficeMax http://slickdeals.net/...
2/5/05 Next blank media link next link

If you wanted to get even fancier you could have the subjects update themselves and take themselves off the sticky if they are expired or they change the thread name to "DEAD".

It'd be a lot easier to read and understand, and free the SlickDeals forums from clutter, methinks.

most of the mods here are in agreement that the less stickies the better. IMO its not that bad so far, and grouping things in one blanket thread make it worse to find a deal when you are looking for it because good deals get mixed in with crappy deals.
