I'm still new, so I hope this doesn't get bashed because of that. I've just noticed that there are a lot of Dell deals in different forums (slick, hot, and coupon). Just an outsiders opinion, but wouldn't it be a good idea to have a Dell Deal Forum for all of those to get posted in? That way if you're looking for a Dell deal it makes it easier to locate, and if you're looking for something else you don't have to sift through 100 Dell deals to find what you're looking for. What do you guys think, any problems with this idea?

We have a Dell section in the coupons forum, but maybe a Dell sub-forum of hot deals or something would work well. I can see it happening.

I dont think its a good idea. You mayaswell do a Best Buy Forum a Staples one , Circuit City ecc . There really isnt any value in making sub forums for each seperate store that has a deal.

Most of the Dell deals aren't "good" deals, anyways.

That's the point, half the deals suck and I think they should be in one place, I'm not saying one for every store, but everytime I'm looking through the deals, I see at least 5 or 6 new deals for Dell that just take up space. I'm consistantly seeing Dell coupon threads at least once a day and it's just nothing that great. If we put them in a sub forum it would leave the deals forum a lot less cluttered.

Also, this thread has a lot of views and no one is voting, what's up with that?

Perhaps this might be of use to you if you are trying to find Dell Deals.

It's not so much that as another 'the (x) deals suck, make them go away' thing. Granted, not every Dell deal is SUPER SCORCHING HOT WITH THE HEAT OF 1000 SUNS, but that's just how it works. There is a long thread for Dell coupon codes and most people post in there rather than making new threads. As for the Dell threads in the Hot Deals section, well... I imagine they must be useful to somebody.

To be frank (and this isn't aimed at the OP in particular, but everyone) we all need to chill out with the 'this deal sucks, it shouldn't be here, you shouldn't be here, you're going to hell' crap. It's a farking forum. It does not affect your ability to enjoy life; if someone posting a so-so thread can screw up your day, consider therapy. Or there's always that magical device, the scroll wheel.

It's not as if the so-so threads stay on the first page anyways - or they wouldn't if people would stop popping up with 'this thread sux' and bumping them.

Sorry for the rant.

Good Job everybody not trying to bash anybody but if you have a dell coupon please put it in the dell coupon thread and not make a new thread in the hot deals section.

Exactly my point, I'm glad someone understands what I'm aiming for.... I'm not looking for Dell stuff, I'm just tired of looking at 5 Dell deals that are all coupons when they could easily be put in one place. It does seem to have gotten better though...

A new forum is a WOT (waste of time)- the problem is posters NOT following the forum guidlines and rules. Coupons belong in coupons, freebies (totally free, Period) belong under freebies. Anything else belongs under hotdeals- Right?
So, simply put, a coupon could be added in a deal under hot deals IF the deal is a hot deal without the coupon and is improved by the coupon, but not for the coupon itself. If you see miscatagorized postings Mod Alert it. The only way to get rogue posters to follow the rules is to enforce them and we, as the SD community, enforce that by Mod Alerting offenders. Ranting and raving about a poor deal (in youropinion) doesn't belong anywhere- support your complaint with facts and report problems, don;t just complain about them.

That would set a precedent I don't think anybody here wants to mess with. Besides, it's really not that bad.
