I would like to see a flame icon to report unnecessary flaming in posts.

Flamers are the reason people feel too threatened to post deals on this board.

Repeated flaming violations and the Mods should be able to publically remove rep points. If this happend some peoples rep points would be in the negatives

You can report unnecessary threadcrapping with the ModAlert button, although whether it will actually get a response is somewhat debatable, as SlickDeals seems to have seen a surge in idiot trolls in the past six months.

It would be nice to have a seperate flame icon though :)

But the ModAlerts let the Moderators have a record of the event, link, and person reporting it. Consider the ModAlert your "flame icon".

They do, some people are (I think), but I am surprised that they simply haven't been banned. The Mods will warn people for unwelcome behaviour and will suspend constant offenders.

Keep in mind, the only way the mods know if people are misbehaving, flamming, or not obeying the rules is when the posts are reported. If they aren't reported, than we may never find out.
