since self-promotion is not allowed and we have no way of verifying if it's your auction or not, please do not post any eBay auction links. this is a 4 point warning you do not want. - serra

Here is the link to the original thread (http://forums.slickdeals.net/showthread.php?t=678154) - the one that started it all.
And this is the thread that followed (http://forums.slickdeals.net/showthread.php?t=798647), but got locked after just 4,000 posts.
Please read - or search - them first if you have any questions.

Then in the address bar paste this for Wii: javascript:openFindInStore(7855161)
or this for Wii Fit: javascript:openFindInStore(9188483)
Then click go and the tracker should pop-up, fyi I am using firefox.

Reseller FAQ (ask these questions in the forum and get smacked around!):

EBay Fees Calculator[I]

www.ebcalc.com

This is how eBay will calculate your Final Value Fee if your item sells for less than $1000 and you do not receive any special discount. Note that the FVF is based on the auction's ending price excluding any S&H Charges:

8.75% of the first $25 + 3.50% of the remaining amount exceeding $25

Example: Sale Price $400

FVF = (.0875 * $25.00) + (.035 * $375.00) = ($2.19) + ( $13.13) = $15.32

[I]Shipping Recommendations

Where can I get boxes to ship stuff on the cheap? Try Walmart (24 hour stores are great for this at 4am)! Go to your local grocery store also and ask them to save boxes for you. You can just buy 18x12x12 boxes for under $3 for your bundle. Packing peanuts are the lightest filler but are hard to find for free. If you want to order 25 or more boxes at a time, you can get them from uline.com for around $1.50 each with shipping.

The Nintendo Wii also fits perfectly into the boxes that hold several reams of paper. These boxes can be found for FREE at any bank, office supply store, library, and any other location that prints paper on a regular basis. These boxes are sturdy but light and also work well in shipping bundled items. Be aware that when claiming damage insurance on shipping, the quality of your packing will come into question - for $400-$500 an inspector will probably come look at the package, so it may be worth both positive feedback and insurance protection to use good boxes.

What size of box to get? Considering that Nintendo ships the Wii with no other padding, you shouldn't need much either. You will want your box to be crush proof which means having packing material fill throughout the empty spaces. The Wii will fit perfectly in a box with 15"Lx10"Hx6"D dimensions with 1" to spare on the depth. If you are going to pack a nunchuk you will need a minimum of 15x10x8, as they are thick. Staples sells a 15x12x10 box that fits the Wii perfect on two sides, or you can use the extra space for padding all around. 15x10x10 gives you lots of bundle space, but these must be ordered, you won't find them at B&M stores.

Which shipper is best FedEx Ground consistently has cheaper rates and faster shipping times in comparison to UPS Ground (however eBay does not automatically calculate rates for FedEx). USPS priority mail is a fast 2-3 days anywhere which will get you glowing feedback, but it does not have tracking. Signature delivery is required for PayPal seller protection on items above $250 (signature is also required for FedEx when it is declared value for $500+) - without signature, a PayPal dispute is ripped out of your account and gone forever. The total shipping price for anywhere in the USA 48 contiguous ranges from $12-$18 FedEx (bundle shipping more), depending on the distance. FedEx insurance has reported to only pay the cost of the items, whereas UPS may pay the full auction value.

When should I list my Wii?

You should use the completed auction search and make up your own mind from past results. The biggest problem is that there are usually are several listings ending every minute and you don't want that much competition, it's better to list at a time when more people might be bidding, and less might be listing new Wiis. Don't use scheduled auctions, list your item at a random time. If we told you when we list, then YOU'D be competition!

For research, www.terapeak.com (http://slickdeals.net/?sduid=305707&t=678154&u2=http://www.terapeak.com) provides the most complete information for FREE on any item on eBay. Be sure to filter out extra items such as accessories or games to more accurately view the data on selling the Nintendo Wii. Timing your listing also makes a large difference on increasing your profit margin, thus it is also important to adjust the website to fit your timezone.

What is the difference between a Dutch Auction and a Multiple Item Auction Listing?

A true Dutch Auction, which gets its name from the Tulip auctions in the Netherlands is an auction that starts with a really high asking price. The price is then lowered incrementally until one person bids to end the auction. These types of auctions are effective for selling high priced items. For eBay purposes, Dutch Auction is used to refer to Multiple Item Ascending Auctions (listings with 2 or more items) in which the price starts low, at say $0.99, and then is bid up incrementally, ending with one winner purchasing multiple units or multiple winners purchasing a single unit each. The term 'Dutch Auction' is used to refer to both the true Dutch auctions as well as Multiple Item Ascending Auctions, thus there is often some confusion amongst individuals when the term is used.

Where do I get Wiis to sell?
You'll be looking hard! Keep these discussions to the Wii availability thread, unless the discussion is reseller-specific for some reason.

We'll see if they start to get scarce again. Right now prices on Ebay are averaging $115-125 for the Fits. Not worth it for me yet. At best, it's a break even proposition. Those fees eat me up, and I've got a 40% discount!!

Good Luck

Ebay Item # 180323307444. I don't even know why these people, or people like them, even bother selling. 1) They kill the market by selling at $107 with free shipping. 2) They are bound to take a huge loss at this price 3) If they would stop using bin for such a low price im sure they would get a higher price with auctions. This is just killing the auction price instead.

A lot of Targets are holding for Sunday so you probably wouldn't be able to get very many anyway. I will be buying more Fits on Sunday.

Kindle 2 anyone? I'm intrigued.

High likelihood of getting sold out. Good bet in my book.

Ofcourse, you never know. (CYA statement :) )

Edit:
Also, Amazon seems to be pretty much saying that it is expecting shortages for Kindle 2 so is offering original Kindle owners priority position in the line etc.

I think you have 30 days after the delivery date to return, we can buy and return in the unlikely case of no resale value by the end of return timeframe.

Kindle 2 is cheap. Just get another credit card. Remember, you can always return it before 30 days.

This doesn't look good to me. I just went to the Amazon site and looked at the Kindle. Then I started the order process just to see how many I could order. It would have let me order 20 if I had wanted to. I don't know if that will change as people realize it's available. Right now, I wouldn't order more that a couple. If you see they're still readily available a couple of days before the release, you can canel your order.

I got caught with that Elmo hype. I preordered 10 of them. Ended up canceling six before they shipped, and took delivery of four. The tip off was when I was able to preorder 10 of them a couple of weeks before they were released, but I didn't realize that. Out of the four I got, I returned three. The last one was given to one of the grandchildren (she loved it).

All I'm saying here is to be carefull. They seem awfully easy to get when the release date is only a couple of weeks away. You could end up selling one or two at a loss and returning the rest.

Good Luck

Returning and buying just before the high resell value season would be a better idea. That is if there will be such a season for this product, it may never sell out.

Try taking it to Walmart. They will usually accept items without a reciept if you haven't done too many with them. You will get a Walmart gift card, they will not give cash.

If you've purchased any from Target within the last 3 months, might try taking it back to there, too. They should be able to look it up using your credit card if you don't have a receipt.

Most of the Wal-Marts are pretty hesitant to take back electronics items without a receipt, they may not take it back but it might be worth a try. I remember it from when I was trying to return ink cartridges, I had to stop by multiple locations before one took them. Returning over time will not change much as they will ask for your driver licence each time and see the previous returns on your record.

Don't take them back yet, post them on CL for $90.00, you should have no problem moving them. State in your ad that you can beat the retailers because of the tax difference, whatever it is in the state you live in. For the most part, people don't know about amazon-that's a good thing.

I've heard lots of people say "3 returns a year" but I don't think that's true. For one, it's always up to the manager. They can deny returns for any reason. Some stores won't accept returns for electronics without a receipt at all. Others may not give you a gift card but will make you exchange it for another similiar item right then and there.

I've called WM customer service about this and I was told that this return information is cleared from their system every 45 days. Meaning, that if I return something to WM without a receipt today. . .45 days later they would have no record of this return. Take that for what it is worth but I have found this to be true after about 3 months. I don't think I've ever tried it any sooner than that.

The Kindle 2 is packaged in a black box inside the brown Amazon shipping box. The black Kindle box is not shrink-wrapped, but is covered by a removable black plastic sleeve.

Thank god, I don't live in denver but I flagged it. I hate how there's people on craigslist that are so obsessed with people not making money..

Why should craigslist even exist if you're not allowed to do business on it as you please? I swear, the morons that read craigslist and flag down resellers or anyone on the hustle are just people who can't even find a good deal on their own...the type of people that call and think you're selling the wii and the fit for $100.

it happens with other products too...I was selling rock band 2s when they were on sale and there were people posting "DON'T BUY THEY HAVE THEM AT TOYSRUS FOR $120" and this was a whole month after that price ended....and I'm like no..that was a one shot deal and you had to be quick or intelligent to get it...it's $200 at the store after tax..my price is a ----ing deal. Then people have the audacity to call me and be like "uh, can you let it go for $80..I saw it on eBay for $40 I'll just go buy it there"

still though..some people feel craigslist is like a yardsale..like everything should be $10 and you need to go deliver it to them...hell no...you meet me where i want you to meet me at the time i want you to meet me and at the price i set.

the real craigslist game is in mobile phones. if you know how to get them under cost or have the kind of pull with t-mobile, you can make some good money on unlocked handsets.

Thanks guys. Appreciate it. I'm still at it, on a daily basis. Not much volume, but at least 3-4 a week for the time being. I only undercut the retailers by 5-10 bucks but most people still think they're hard to get or they like saving 5-10 bucks.

I know you can get them anywhere, but if you know how to pick them up at a pretty discounted price in your area, people are still wanting them and being able to beat the retailers price is great. All the people I've sold to this week were happy to save $10.00.

On the Fit front, it's getting harder for me to move them at $110. Probably have to drop down to 100 even, then worry about beating the retailers. But by then the margin isn't as great so I'll just stick to consoles.

Whipping to Japan. :lmao:

If you mean shipping to Japan, just create a label on USPS Click N Ship. It creates the customs forms at the same time. The value you place on it is also the amount of the insurance so don't say it is worth $20 unless that's all the insurance you want on it. You can list it as a gift to stop the recepient from having to pay taxes or not. It's up to you. You don't have to pay anything but the shipping amount.

It's true that the brain-dead easy money from Wii and Wii Fit has sort of dried up, but there are always somethings to resell. Just need to do a bit of research on an ongoing basis. Ebay is not out of business yet, right? :) .

Look on Ebay to see what some of the "veterans" are selling, look at the list/sale price premium on Amazon, Look at the instock alerts sites to see which products are OOS, keep your ears open in general..

Right now some of the StreetFighter 4 products and accessories have a good premium, some old PS3 bundles(MGS4 etc) sell well, but availability of these is pretty spotty. Also hoping the Nintendo DSi makes some money when it comes out soon and gets sold out.

OK, I've been doing a little research on the DSi. It is an upgrade of sorts from the DS lite, but I'm not sure it will be the hot item that many of the previous Nintendo releases have been. You can preorder 3 on Amazon right now. I also went to a couple of Gamestops and asked a few questions. The clerks there were telling me they expect it to sell out, and to preorder now. The key is, it's still available for preorder everywhere.

I have a topic here for discussion. Give your opinion on whether or not it will sell out and make it worthwhile for resale. I figure if you're paying retail for it, it will cost about $180 with tax. That means you will need to get around $205 for it to break even, if you offer free shipping.

In my opinion, it's probably not going to be a very hard to get item. I don't know that the upgrades are enough to have people lining up on release day (April 5th) and buying them all up. I remember that even when the DS lite was in short supply, the prices on ebay were around $160-170 with free shipping. The cost with tax was $138. Maybe a $5-10 profit there at best. I think that even if the DSi is in short supply, prices on ebay won't be high enough to make it worth chasing them all over town.

Don't get me wrong. If it turns out to be hot and hard to get, and prices on ebay are $220 or better, I'll be out there chasing them. I hope that turns out to be the case. It's just that I have my doubts.

Anyone care to venture an opinion?

Good Luck

I don't think it will sell out. If we were in October nearing Christmas than maybe I would think otherwise. It's more of an upgraded version so its not like a next generation system or handheld that everyone has to buy over again. It's more if you want the upgrades fine, if not than you skip it. Even when the original DS was first released you could walk into a store and pick one up. It obviously picked up steam since than, but since were not near Christmas I don't think it will sell out.

I always get money back. The large majority of my income comes from my day job. I sold a lot this year but eBay is my side gig. I just remembered that I paid a lot more in mortgage interest this year. I guess that's the reason for the refund increase this year.

ya if you have a second job then you are already paying in a decent amount through. That plus the mortgage interest helps. If all you do is resell though, then no refund. And refund is only letting government borrow your hard earned money throughout the year and then getting it back.

Did you guys do your taxes yet? I didn't sell that many and don't have any registered home business, but want to file the taxes correctly. Can anyone provide advice? Did anyone of you do the efile?

If you received payments via PayPal or Google Checkout, that income is not reported directly to the IRS. However, if you were to get audited, the IRS would find those revenue streams and you would get penalized. If it's a few thousand in owed taxes, you would just pay a fine. If it's $10k or more, you're looking at fraud and possible jail time.

You would file the reselling income under a Schedule C as a sole propiertorship.

Thanks for the advice and help! It's much below $10K but I want to do the right thing and pay the taxes as everyone else, but the law. I realize that there are people who steal on taxes, but there are also those who get audited, pay the panelty/fines and interest and get added to the IRS high risk tax evader list for a life long pain with frequent audits.

Looking at the various efile options, I believe the urbo Tax version with 'home business' is $99. I was wondering what everyone else used and if there was a cheaper alternate that would include schedule C? What software did you guys use?

Yeah, I know  My return is quite simple other than the schedule C aka 'home business' stuff. The best software so far seems like the Taxact ultimate with Federal + state + efile for both for $28. I usually use Turbotax or Taxcut, but didn't find a good deal on those.

He could get an extension if he wanted to, oh and a schedule C opens you up a little more to an audit

My powerseller status just got revoked. It was a fun 3 years. Thank you Nintendo for making such a marketable (and profitable) product.

I'm giving some of the money I made to the chiropractor. Carrying all those boxes to FedEx really screwed up my back. I miss the extra money but I don't miss running up all my credit card bills, dealing with CL idiots, and packing boxes. Working on some other projects and some of then are starting to turn profitable.

Did they completely revoke your status, or just drop you down a couple of levels? Don't you have to maintain your sales volume for a 3-month period or for 12 months? It seems like you could live off your Christmas season sales for a while longer and still maintain some kind of Powerseller status. I've gotten emails about possibly losing my status, but they haven't done anything, yet.

The Wii fever is now a fond memory, and looks like the DSi was a total flop (man, not even a few weeks/months of market!! ).

Street Fighter Fightsticks seems to be quite a craze now, though getting hold of these hasn't been as easy as the Wii/Fit days. The Tournament Edition ones are super hot, the Standard ones not quite as great..

The supply has been getting a bit better lately.. hope it doesn't satisfy demand and kill the reseller market.

You can't really make money on standards anymore. I just got 4 and have only been flipping them for $10-20 profit, not really worth it. Prices on ebay for them have gone down tremendously this week.

The tournament sticks have dropped off a lot this week, too. The pool of buyers for these seem to be relatively low to begin with. I think most of the ones that are willing to pay a premium for them have already bought them. The others are willing to wait.

Well, we just went through the last hot item (Wii's and Fit's). I'm not against that, but what I'd really like to find is something that sells year round. You can go from hot item to hot item, but it's always a rat race. Trick is to get a steady supplier of something that people will always buy all year long. Yeah, the big money is in the hot items, but so is the stress that goes along with it.

Electronics is always good. People want it. They are usually small, light, and fairly expensive. Whatever the follow up to the Wii will be (Wii II?), you can guarantee, but I hear that won't happen until 2010.

Good Luck.

More power to you if you have the patience for Craig's List. I've tried it a couple of times. Seems more trouble than it's worth to me. I haven't tried cell phones yet. It's on my to do list if I can find a reliable supplier.

The key is to find an item that you can buy on ebay and then resell on ebay. One good area to look at is hobbies such as radio control or video games. There is a guy on ebay with the id of rcbonezz that buys auctions of people getting out of the hobby and then parts them out for profit. Keep in mind to succeed at this you have to have a very good knowledge base about the hobby or niche you are thinking about entering.

The same scenario applies to video games. Lots of people selling their game system and games all in one shot to the highest bidder. Many times you can buy the auction and then part out the game system, games, controllers, etc and turn a profit. Granted it is a lot of work to keep track of all the auctions but it can be done if you have the time and energy to put into it.

I used to do this with video games and rc car auctions but I don't have the time for it any longer. I also used to do this with the columbia house dvd club. I would get 10 dvds for $30 or whatever the deal was. I researched which dvds were selling well on ebay and got those dvd's from columbia house. Just so happened that columbia house had an Animal House collectors edition dvd which was quite rare. Sold for $30+ on ebay. So that one dvd paid for my entire subscription. The other 9 dvds were pure profit. Even if I only sold the other 9 dvds for $10 each I still made about $90 in profit for every dvd account. I would turn 2-3 accounts per month. Simply canceling the dvd account and signing up for the next deal a couple days later.

The only reason I'm posting these ideas is because I don't have time to do this type of thing any longer. To make money ebay you either have to have connections with suppliers to resell their products or you have to be "creative" and look for the opportunity to take advantage of.

The key

I agree, its very important to know the product or class of products you are trying to sell.

You need to know market figures for how much everything is worth - that way you know when to jump (and how high) on a particular listing/auction.

Ebay can be a great tool for figuring out market worth. Also when buying of c-list it can let you know how much you would get if you listed on ebay (I use that as a last case scenario, because i love quick cash sales off craigslist.)

You don't need suppliers if you can raid every single Target, Best Buy, Wal-Mart, etc clearance, plus if you know how to work Gamestop...if you can get rare or less than common games from gamestop at around half sticker price, especially if you get them by flipping, then you can definitely make money on ebay.

Hey Cburk, how are you doing ?, haven't heard from you in a while, To flip games you get them when they are on clearance at Target, or Toys R Us and then trade them in at Gamestop (better when they have coupons going on) for more than you paid, you build up credit and then get new games you want, and then you can sell them on ebay or CL, Blockbuster used to be a good place to flip games from GS or other places, but they are not so good now, it's really kind of a hassle now, since I think the companies caught on to it, so the returns are not so good anymore. Take care.

Yes, pretty much, it works with whatever you can trade in at a profit, even minimal.

For example, I found a lot of Xbox 360 s-video cables for 50 cents each, I spent $6 meaning 12 cables..each cable traded in for $3.50 before edge, so I got about $46 when all was said and done.

Likewise, it is mostly about luck. Did your Target 75 percent clearance X-blades a week after it came out? One of mine did, and I also made about $12 or so dollars per copy.

Flipping isn't essential though, put some cold hard cash down if theres a good coupon, like 20 percent or 25 percent or b2g1 that you can stack with edge. Hot new titles can sell on CL instantly, rare used ones can be sold on ebay for good profit.

Gamestop usually doesn't list the trade in values of many games. But I think there is a list on cheapassgamer.com of what the trade in values are. Also if you look around the CAG site you should be able to find an old promotion that still lets you get an Edge card for a few bucks.

Store employees will bend over backwards to get you one.

My first experience, years ago: did not have an edge card, was buying a set of Buy 2 Get 1 Free games [mind you, these were $40 games so they were already happy with a $80 3 item transaction], they talked me up about the edge card and I was very firm on saying no. After he gets my games, the employee picks up two magazines [Game Informer] and strategy guides for each game, pulls out some preorder swag, and on top of that some Gamestop brand PS2 holiday gift kit [it had a memory card and a controller in it] and says, "If you sign up for Edge, you'll get the 10 percent discount on the games you're buying, and I'll throw in the magazines, the guides, and the accesories" I said yes, he typed in some nubers, and magically there were discounts on everything.

The latest one I've seen, some kid comes in and he's going to buy a guide book and some cheap $5 game. The kid is talked to about EDGE, he says he has no money, and the employees talk back and forth a little and he ends up paying for the EDGE card subcription and getting the guide and game for free.

I'm not saying this is for sure, but as a Gamestop employee, lots of frustrated managers, will give these sorts of discounts just to not report in to the DM with a 0 on subs. I've never actually done it myself, but I know it is done. The same thing with preorders, sometimes we'll use store overages or employee coupons/discounts to cover for preorders when someone wants it but says they have no money. Sure, it's free money for the customer, but some managers are just scared of how office will react to a 0/0 day.

Seriously, they are nothing but trouble.

I've fought a couple of these and won. I'm confused though as to what exactly "TIX" are? Does that mean tickets? Tickets to what? Can they be easily replaced with the same exact item at no cost to you?

While you are working on this, make sure to reply quickly to all emails that Paypal sends you. The worst thing you can do is not to reply.

TIX = Tickets. They are used ticket stubs to the game that i got the bobbleheads from, i guess some people like to have em around to sell as a set, or to show the legitimacy of the bobbleheads (and not fake ones maybe?)... i got about 7 back so far, gonna mail it to him, see if he'll take that and settle. Hmmmmm....looks like you're at his mercy on this one. You really have no way to prove he got those. Paypal will probably side with him on this. I have two suggestions.

Try to call him (if he speaks English) and explain where the stubs were in the package. Maybe he just missed it.

Failing that, Paypal allows for you two to come to an agreement. Make him an offer to refund part of the funds. Not perfect, but it's better than nothing.

Stop selling overeseas. Not even APO and FPO addresses. I've been burned on a high percentage of these. Not worth the effort. These buyers know they have you over a barrel. You really have no recourse except to try to take it through a foreign court system.

Good Luck.

And THIS Is why I had to stop selling on eBay. I decided the risk on INTL transactions was worth it: higher bids, higher shipping charge, etc. If you can make sure a US bidder outbids the INTL then you are good to go. But the thing is, these INTL people are scumbags, they'll bid higher than any US bidder will go because of the price of the items overseas and the fact that they know they can scam you. They'll get their item and file an item not received, then you have NO WAY of proving that they got their item, and then Paypal believes them, and then you lose your money through chargeback and you have to pray they didn't hit you with negs on eBay or else you get suspended too.

There is INTL shipping with tracking but no INTL will pay for it because at that point you are paying more than twice for what the item is worth and they also do know they can scam US sellers.

I've written ebay before, they need to place a rule that as long as the seller has a valid shipping receipt, the buyer can not place a chargeback or dispute.

I shipped a lot of expensive items to APO/FPO customers and never had any bad experience. I have to say that I was scared most of the time but troops seem to appreciate shipping to them and do not think of fraud. One customer complained about her order being late once and irritated the heck out of me by leaving negative feedback, but she removed it right away after I emailed her because tracking information shows that it was handed over to the military in 4 days and they deserve the complaint after that.

I didn't have bad experience with international sales either because I don't offer expensive items for sale internationally. All of the bad experience I had is with people from certain two big countries that live in the United States. It amounted to such a high number, I would not accept any arguments that it is a coincidence. Now I require signature on every package I send to them when I see the name, even then they try to dispute at times but have no grounds.

Spend $1,000 at Target on your Target Visa card or $2,000 anywhere else and you'll get a coupon.

 I feel like I'm really out of practice. I have a lot of my personal Wii stuff to sell (moving on to PS3) but I'm not sure how to sell it. I have a brand new Wii that I never got around to selling, my personal Wii that I use, about 8 games, and Rock Band equiptment. Should I bundle this stuff or sell it seperately?

I'll put it up on CL first and if that takes too long I'll have to go back to dealing with eBay.

It didn't work out as well as I had hoped. I put up a good price for a 2 Player Bundle and the offers I got were an average of $75 less. I guess I'm just gonna keep the Wii (mostly because my gf loves Mario) and sell the Rock Band stuff as a bundle on eBay.

I got a great deal on PS3 Rock Band stuff thanks to the Hot Deals section.

i doubt it, cuz last time when i got the GHWT/RB2, it was far below my expectation. barely anyone bite at above retail price. so im not hopeful on the beatles set.

Doubtful, really really doubtful.

There's RARELY a shortage of a particular game.

Wii Fit isn't a game but a bundle, and Mario Kart was technically a bundle too (but that hit after X-mas if I recall right..).

Unless we see a Wii Fit 2 or something along those lines...

sarausagi

The market has shifted back towards used catalog titles and collector's items, so it's the usual "guru" types that know how to make money

Whereas during the Wii and following game fads [Wii Fit, Mario Kart] even someone who had no idea about the auction market could turn a profit

The music games are still viable as a market if you can get them at least half off. I still turn $20-$30 on GH3 bundles on craigslist weekly. A full Rock Band set can still fetch $100. The clearance GHWT and RB2 games at Target can easily be dropped into a RB1 set for a nice profit.

i got a question for u guys...
when someone in ebay is claiming not to rec'd their item from me, but it is a presale...

also, they want a local pickup, and now is upset that they never rec'd a reply from me after multiple inquiries (but i have not seen any proof of that, and i really never rec'd any msg from him), however, i have replied to him w/in 1 day after his inquiry about this whole ordeal.

now they want a full refund. i am asking for a restocking fee (10% of auction) for all this crap he threw at me, now hes going to say they'll give me a negative on my account, and report to the authorities that i am reselling (these are collectible stadium giveaways, so hes saying he is going to report it to the team's head of security on me for selling and profitting from this... ).

its just a mess. obviously they noticed that price have dropped since they bidded 2 weeks ago, and now i get this thrown at me.

what would you do? (would you refund in full? ask paypal for pay back on the fees charged for this transaction.. charge them back? etc?)

you bend over backwards, give them their money back, then fly to where they live, give them a few hours of sexual favors, take them to dinner, give them a $200 gift card to best buy or victoria's secret depending on gender, then you get on your knees and beg they don't give you a negative or open a ITEM NOT RECEIVED claim or dispute with paypal

remember, on eBay, the sellers are the slaves and the buyers are the masters, unless you're a platinum powerseller, then you can rip off 10-100 people a week and ebay will make sure your feedback is flawless and you keep your money.

The buyer is going to send your items back and wants a full refund? If you receive everything back in the proper condition, I would probably go ahead and issue the full refund. May not be worth risking a negative. . .of course, you don't even know you won't receive a negative anyway.

Ah, I missed the preorder part. You've already got a hostile buyer, so no sense in making it worse. Just cancel the transaction. You can refund the money through Paypal and automatically receive the fees back. You can then try to mutually agree to cancel the transaction through ebay. If the buyer accepts that, you would then receive your ebay fees back.

Havent seen them in stores yet, but havent looked much, they are selling pretty good on the bay, I dont know about CL, they dont seem to be buying much of anything in my area.

Also precede with caution, I already see pre-orders on TRU that ship on 12/11/09 so they might flood the market just before Christmas.

True, it's pretty flooded right now but that's just from all the experienced resellers buying up all the stock when they find them. Making a new thread about it will have your average joe schmo thinking he can flip them and the market extremely more flooded than it already is. We're not even to Halloween yet so they're not many Christmas buyers out looking for toys yet. I hope people who are finding them aren't holding on to them, it might backfire big time by the time Thanksgiving comes rolling around.
