View Full Version : Is there a place on this forum to "advertise" good deals you are selling?

I get free items a lot in a program I am in. I usually sell these on ebay, but would rather sell these items to people on the forum who are in need of them, since I usually just want to get rid of them and mark them down around 30 - 40%. Not to mention I'd rather not pay Ebay's fees.

Is there a suitable place on this forum to do this? I know there is the "help me find a deal" forum, but it's rare that I have something someone is actively looking for. Again, I'm not talking about a regular forum for selling stuff, but a place to list items which I'm selling that are only considered "hot deals." Eg, I have cell phone GPS Device that sells on Amazon for $300 that I would like to get rid of for $100.

I don't want to start a thread doing this though if it's against policy.

If you are getting free stuff from a program you are in, why not share the details of that program instead of trying to sell your stuff to SDers? That would be more in the spirit of SD than trying to unload stuff you got for free by charging SDers.

No selling/trading over $5 is allowed at Slick Deals.

Depending on your area/items Craigslist might be a decent option to avoid fees.

Incorrect! Trading is limited to a $5 retail value. There is no buying or selling on Slickdeals. Same goes for advertising. You cannot advertise your site, company, or any promotion on Slickdeals.

If you want to sell something, you will need to find another website that allows that activity.

Program is invite only and it's not really feasible that anyone here could easily join it right now. Yes, it would be more in the spirit not to sell it, but I'm not just going to give away an $800 TV to someone on SD because we happen to be in the same forum. I would sell it for $400 to them though. In any case, I got the info I needed, so thanks for the replies.
