If you're a powerseller, you can signup for expanded seller protection with Paypal, which lets you ship to unconfirmed addresses and still be protected. That's the one good thing eBay's done in this disastrous past half-year.
I would be a powerseller if eBay would just send me a mother funking invitation to accept. I plan on bugging live help everyday until I get the invitation. For future reference, do you know the link I would use to sign up with Paypal or is that an invitation thing also?

I'm 20...have spent my money paying rent / bills / tuition, traveled to a couple of away University of Michigan football games, including the bowl game in Florida, new 32" Sony lcd, a wii + games for myself, etc.
I plan on doing this at least through college. I have enough money to pay for the next 3 years of school, but between eBay and some scholarships, I should be able to afford a nice house after I graduate.

email them, they take 2-3 days to respond and "waive" the wait until XX date crap.
as for the extra protection, on paypal page under auction tools I think you will find a link or ad to sign up for it.

Just turned 25 yesterday :) It is apparent that the ability to maximize profits does not diminish with age...good news for us all.
BTW I kept checking sears.com when I'd see the wii fit (supposedly) in stock. They never seemed to have it online, but I kept checking the 'In-Store Pickup' availability and sure enough 3 stores around here had them in stock. I was able to purchase them online and I can pick them up at the store whenever.
Walking into a sears store around here is like stepping back into the 80's, although the merchandise pickup technology is pretty cool....scan your barcode at a machine and someone brings out your stuff, very simple.

Keep wishing what you want. But this demand is driven by females. That has been and will continue to be the core market. The better you can exploit that, the more money you can make.

I agree with that point. That may boost console sales somewhat, but I think it would have a negligible impact on the Fit sales. Either way, when people are spending money, it is good for us(and Nintendo).

Very interesting to see the ages, and kind of what I expected...24 here myself.
Anyway, as someone already said, Father's Day should be good for a bump in Wii sales, not Wii Fit (However, Wii Fit demand seems to be increasing exponentially regardless).
Wii Fit is being eaten up by Mom's and young women, just as I expected (though I think it's a neat tracking device myself). It is marketing genius...what better way is there to attack the people that typically don't play games? Nintendo found a whole new crowd to sell Wii's to...sooo smart.
Anyway, I'm envious of all those finding Wii Fit's everywhere. I've been calling Sears, Walmarts, Costcos, Kmarts, TRUs, Gamestops, and they keep saying none since launch. Target has been good though.

Not med school, but I'm an electrical engineering student at Michigan. Probably one of the toughest undergrad majors you can pick here. Probably did at least $10k around the holidays/right after Xmas. I know that if I was very serious, I could make a lot more, but school/class always comes first. Now that it is summer, I am interning out in a town where it seems like this stuff is a little easier to find. Picked up a Wii Fit after work today, plus 3 on Amazon while at work. Probably have done 500+ on Wii Fits so far.

is TRU confirmed or speculation at this time?
In SW PA.. Wii fit so far has only been at Targets, ironically Wii's too.. I have seen a lone Wii hear and there at WM and random shipments of Wii Fit at WM too. They "seem" to be putting out the Wii Fit in the evening (after work hours) in my neck of the woods to offset the resellers who can swoop in and clean them out before work lets out.
With school out now in my area, I see the competition getting stiff.

Either update your UPS account information by visiting www.ups.com or update the information below." This is so freaking frustrating I just may take it to a UPS Store and have them figure out the postage and crap.

If you go, wait in line, and leave, yeah. But, you can do better than that.

The question for me is...what is the limit of how high Wii Fit will go, so I know whether or not to sell now? It seems like Wii maxed at about 2.5x (in its earlier launch days) its cost. Comparing Wii with Wii Fit (which I know is apples to oranges, but at least some basis), this would put the upper bound of Wii Fit at about $225....hmmmm
Does anyone know how many Wii Fits Nintendo is capable of producing per month?

ive gotta think the ebay max will be around $180-200 shipped for the forseeable future. It was in that range for pre-orders and then it maxed out.
What happens is when it gets obviously high--the # of wannabe ebay sellers also increases--which brings the prices back down. The only possible exception is if Nintendo completely stops feeding the US for a time and the resellers are running out of inventory.

I have to agree.. I don't see FIT breaking the 200 barrier easily (other than oddball auction). It is an accessory, not EVERYONE is going to want one. I am hoping that this drive will last more than 2 months. Wasn't GH3 about 8 weeks before there was enough supply to equalize the demand then prices settled?
the wannabe is what worries me the most, we all saw that in Feb when the market almost collapsed.
I still get kicks when I read some auctions.. bold comments like "i've sold 100's of Wii's" and the person has feedback of less than 100 and is not a PS.

I hate walmart so much. Either the online stock checker is completely useless or the employees are just dumb or lazy or both but earlier in the week it said in stock for 2 walmarts and neither had any. They went out of stock and now one shows in stock again (showed out of stock last night and I called yesterday) I call and ask if they got any in and they say no.... Why would it change from out of stock to in stock overnight if they didn't even get a shipment? That doesn't make any sense at all. Or have the employees just been lying all week.

My local ones seemed to have gotten delivery overnight and neither had them on the floor at opening time. One was nice enough to say "call back in 30 mins while I check" and sure enough, they had received 8 and they were still unboxing them when I got there at 8:30 AM so chances are, they are still in the back maybe.

Had to send it back to Ninty for a replacement.

How did they handle replacement, and how long did they say it'd be. I told her to call Nintendo first, but I'm curious as to how long it'll take to get repaired or if I should just send a new one.

Under "ITEMS SOLD" right click on 'Action' column on row e.g. "Ship, Leave Feedback, Second Chance" and click on "Report UNPAID Item"...then followed the instructions. They will email the buyer to make sure s/he agreed to do so then when they send you a link be sure to click on "get Final Value Fee Credit" link at the end. Btw , listing fees are Non-refundable so you might want them to paypal you that - I ask for the actual cost ~ $11

Yeah, there is no longer feedback withdrawal through mutual agreement. You have to contact ebay for review. Just have the buyer contact them. Go to the help menu and click contact us. You will see a selection that says feedback. They will then review it for removal.

It all depends on the Fed Ex driver, if he reclassifies it as home delivery then you are charged extra if you have used your fedex account. But if you pay at the counter with cash, it is good to go.

i've found fedex usually charges up if you assign ground and it turns out to be home delivery...i thought they can determine address type when you make the label...and if not, they catch it at the store.

Saw a couple auctions yesterday and one just now for the game plus one additional wheel end for over $100.

I used the same coupon (not expired of course) on release day for Wii fit with Zero problems !!! I will line up no earlier than 9:30 AM but no later either.
I used it also and can confirm that it works. If you spend $150 or more you can have them scan it twice and it will work again :)

Maybe Nintendo is Mad at Amazon and is limiting all Wiis and Wii fits! Last couple weeks almost zilch of both.
Or perhaps the earthquake in China has effected the supply.

Mario Kart will not be out of stock for long... Definitely not something I'd buy at retail price. It's one of Wii's biggest games and you can bet Nintendo will restock them shortly.

My Walmarts are tricky. It seeems some get them in during the day and others overnight. Or their trucks come in at different times. I have a bunch showing limited stock that didnt have any yesterday AM. Only one--thats 20 miles away showing "In-stock" Im going to try to sneak out to that store in a little bit. But Im going to have to start calling the stores around noon as well as first thing in the morning/overnight.

They have sold MILLIONS of consoles but still seem to be dictated by fear "oh, let's only make 100,000 copies of Mario Kart in case it doesn't fare well" - LOVIN' IT

Nothing showed available yesterday. Today a bunch of limited availabilities--and the one *available* just sold out.
So either, they got them in yesterday afternoon..or I have a ton of re-sellers calling and grabbing overnight--which doesnt seem likely. What time do you guys call to check for the overnight shipments?

Kinda. In my experience the site updates once a day around 8am with information that was collected around 3am. The info is pretty useless after 11am. If any store shows in stock on that thing I would definetely call before you go.

Anyone ever have a customer report that their console was DOA?? I have a customer reporting that their wii will not work, meaning it starts up but no picture displays. I keep giving them suggestions to make sure everything is connected properly, but they insist the product is defective and they want to drive to my house and pick up a new one. Anyone ever have a problem like this? I keep telling them their options are to use Nintendo's Warranty process -or- I can TRY and send it back to circuitcity.com for a replacement.

Just take it back to the B&M. I've had one that didn't work Christmas day. The guy just handled it through Nintendo.

Is it that easy? I guess because Wii has a warranty of 1 year it is possible.
But imirish, do you have the receipt for the defective one?

I was under the impression that it was just purchased. He did say it was DOA (Dead On Arrival). Most stores will take it back in this case. The reason they will take it back is because it never worked.

Same thing happened to me.
I wrote this to my buyer:
I just called Nintendo, and they want me to ask you to give them a call.
Here is what I dialed:
1-800-255-3700
press 2 (wii related issue)
press 5 (any other troubleshooting)
press 1 (unable to read disc)
press 0 (to speak to wii representative)
The hold time was less than 30 seconds.
I asked them that do you need to register the wii on Nintendo.com first, they said no because you just received the wii two days ago.
Just simple give Nintendo a call. Hopefully they can solve the problem.
Note that my case is for disc error. If your wii is DOA, you might have to press for different option. Just try to dial the number yourself.
Also, for my case, Nintendo said its the console (not the disc), and they replaced it for a $5 charge (my customer paid). They shipped the wii by 2nd day shipping.

I think that is always the first course of action to take, but some buyers will not go for that. You have to look at it from there point of view. Let's say you bought a GPS system from CC and it didn't work right out of the box. Would you handle it through warranty or just take it back to the store and have it swapped out? Assuming that it was in stock, you would always return it to the store. The Wii is a little different since it is out of stock in most areas, but in the buyers mind, Imirish has them in stock. They want to therefore exchange it.

You pretty much nailed it on the head. They're looking for an exchange. My options are basically to 1) send them thru Nintendo's warranty process -or- 2) Replace their unit with one of my units and then take the system back to cc for a refund (I have an online receipt and the receipt sticker on the box). #1 is the best option from my point of view, but these people live really close to me and they are the ones who spent $450 so they really want to go with #2.
I have no problem giving them a new one, my only worry is that I don't know if the unit is TRULY defective or if I'm just dealing with an ignoramous that doesn't know how to hook up a video game system properly. I don't want to end up taking the unit back to circuit city and they end up telling me it works fine.
Thank you everyone for your quick responses, your help is very much appreciated!!

If they are really close to you, you should offer to visit them to help set them up. If you can get it to work then have them pay you $5 for your time or something.
