What was your subtotal before you attempted to apply the $10 coupon? It got rejected at $24.50 when I tried it. Cashier forced it through. I'm guessing the floor is $25.

Also, the $5 coupon requires $15 purchase before it can be applied, then knock the balance down with any other coupons you may have.

I think catalina is screwing up the coding (intentionally?). The offer to get the coupon appears to be encoded into the redemption algorithm. Friggin' stupid. At least disclose that if that is how it is intended.

I tried to use the $10 onyo coupon at the SCO and it requires cashier intervention.

The TGIFridays mozzerella sticks were not tagged in my store, but did work for the promo.

Another good deal is the pies. The SP is 8.79, therefore you only need to buy three. IIRC, on sale $6 x3, = 18, deduct the $10 cat net cost is $8 for 3 pies

Quick run to get some FO bread (1.99-1Q) and frozen stuff. Got 4 Mama Rosie's, 2 Smuckers Waffles, and 4 AJ pancakes. Total PSP was $28.02 but only got $5 back. Maybe the waffles? Also got 3 danimals for $3 AC and used up my expiring 4 free Lipton coupons to get the 200 gas points.
I'm seeing here, in the giant forum and elsewhere in the land of the web that people are not getting or getting shorted when buying the smuckers waffles. Wonder if they are not programed in for the deal.

No, I know they are not scan it offers, I was wondering if your default store is a scan it store? I have two cards and two favorite stores. One has a scanner, the other doesn't. I don't get extra store card offers when I am online signed in for the scan it store. Does that make sense? :D
Like Munchkin77, my favorite store is also a Scan It store. So I don't think that's what is affecting it. But I don't always get the offers like everyone else does (at least not at the same time online).

Just confirming that the scenario I mentioned did work - I did the Edy's - it's $5.76 here PSP. I got 5 of them and got the catalina. So $5 after catalina for 5 tubs. :) Sadly, that better than I did all summer w/ice cream.

Went to Giant today to test out Dannon Danimals Deal (Buy 7 get 200 Gas points). The deal can be a money maker and should work for SnS folks as well.

Yes and No.

I will kill and instant of when you buy a certain dollar amount.
It will not kill the deal when and instant off requires you to buy a certain number of items.

Catalina deals work off PSP only, however, if your catalina doesn't print - the service desk will total your amount paid less coupons and deny your catalina because this is what is stated in the ad. In addition if you write to Catalina - they will total the amount paid and deny the claim as well.

Can you tell I'm out a $10 cat? :mad:

Nope. Coupons driving your cash out of pocket below the minimum purchase required to get the catalina Q are perfectly acceptable and will not prevent you from getting your offer coupon.

However, when you want to actually redeem these damn things (the $5 and the $10 store OYNO coupons), your running total must meet some unpublished minimum amount at the register (SCO or staffed doesn't matter).

It looks like you need to spend $15 to redeem the $5 and spend $25 to redeem the $10.

So, apply these coupons first before you apply anything else. Applying other coupons after the fact will not kick out these coupons once they have been applied.

Until I can fit more pies in my freezer, I can't prove it, but I do assume that the $5 and the $10 will stack, so scan at least $25 worth of stuff (except beer, OTC meds, and a few random HBA items), scan the $10, scan the $5, and then hit it with any other coupons you may have. Get your total as low as you can because the less you spend, the more you save.

If anyone else is worried about things not counting, mama rosie's mini raviolis counted towards the deal as did edwards boston creme pie, key lime pie and hershey's pie.

breyers blasts are $5.19 and not marked for sale, so i did not bother trying those.

Yes, that was our first order, 5 Edy's came to $15 sp, and printed our first cat. Our SnS was out of Mama Rosie ravs, at least it was when I was there, lol. But we went to a bday party this weekend, so I tried the SnS near them, and what a stroke of luck, there was a young man wheeling out a pallet full of frozen items. I looked for a box of MR, and they were there, so I finally got some ravs. 10 pkgs = SP 12.50, (psp26.90) minus 2 MQs of $1/2, minus $10 cat, = 50 cents for 10 ravs! :bounce: The kids were so excited! lol

As missredemption said, you can definitely use the $10 coupon as long as you have $25 worth of items. I did this today at SCO. I scanned my items (Mama Rosie's!) and got it over $25, scanned my coupon (which attached, since it was over $25), THEN scanned my card. It still printed my next $10 cat for buying $25 worth of Mama Rosie's. Also, of note, I saw some peelies on TGIF apps. The say "Save $6". They have a $1 off meals for 2 and $.50 off meals for one. I am not sure if these items are included in the sale, because I did not buy them today, but if they are, be on the lookout for the peelies. Hope this helps! :)

They are over $5 each and not on sale - so even with the $1 off coupon, not a good deal for me. Came home and see that I may have read it wrong. Did deals with Edy's, Celeste Pizza, Bertolli Entree and Mama Rosie this morning. All worked off shelf and received $10 Cat every time. Used 1/1 on Bertolli and 1/2 on Mama Rosie's First deal was 10 Rosie for 12.50 less 5 Q's so $7.50 and nothing else and it printed fine.

Celeste Pizza was 1.25 PSP and worked fine in the deals one of my deals had 8 pizza's in it and I was just over $25 PSP on the deal

Good news (possibly) for pumpkin pie lovers. Mrs. Smith's pumpkin pie rang up half price for me yesterday. I had planned on using it for the FF deal. PSP is $6.29 it rang up $3.14, so it must be on clearance or closeut. It threw me off my total so I put it back and got another creme pie but now I'm thinking that it might work for the deal? Or are clearance items non-functioning for cat deals? I was thinking of getting 4 and trying it out. If a cat prints, great. If not, I'll return them. Any past experience with something like this?

Most states have consumer protection laws stating that if the store's return policy is anything other than 100% return 100% of the time, then it must be clearly posted. That's why Target and Wal-mart have their policy in big print at CS. I have never seen anything of the sort at Giant. Not sure about S&S.

ETA: I once got a full refund on 2 (unopened) bottles of wine at Safeway. CS told me it was against State law to return alcohol. I told them, no, it's not against state law to return them, it's against state law to re-sell them after a consumer returns them. And I pointed out that this was posted nowhere in the store. I got my money back. And now there is a huge sign at that Safeway's CS: "No returns on alcohol." :nod:

They always let me return stuff at Giant but like fitnessfan, Safeway gave me some trouble with a frozen item that I had JUST purchased. They had posted the wrong price but instead of offering me the item for free when I asked to return it, she checked to see what time I had purchased it and asked permission if I could return it. I had literally just gotten out of the checkout line so I was kind of annoyed. This was back before I was really into couponing, so I had no interest in arguing with cs.

Anyhow, if I were to do the clearanced pie deal at Giant, I would return them immediately if I didn't get the coupon. Still trying to figure out where to put 4 more pies though :shake:

Needed assistance to use the first $10 cat on my second order. I used the SCO. Total OOP was $22. that was with using a $10 cat.

Bought the TGIF Chipotle Chicken Pasta and my family loved it. VERY saucy, so can easily add some plain cooked pasta to bulk it up to feed more people.

Went back today and found an even better deal.

3 TGIF skillet meals 5.99 (PSP 6.99) and used 3 $2 peelie coupons (found on the TGIF apps)
bought 3 Edy's singles to get me up to the $25 mark.

paid $15, got $10 CAT.

Unfortunately, my freezer is absolutely bursting at the seams.

I went to do the Edy's deal this morning and my scan-it had a .50 off Edy's coupon.

I had an interesting experience today with those online coupons that you add to your card. I had added a .75 off any GM cereal, $1 off $5 produce, and $1 off $5 bake shop. I bought a GM cereal and the coupon came off as expected, however the $1 produce and $1 bake shop also came off even though I didn't buy anything for those. Normally this would be a good thing, but I had a $5 off $30 that came in the mail that I wanted to use so those extra two dollars threw off my total. The attendant did something to suspend my transaction, my $10 cat printed so I took that, and I grabbed some stuff to get my total back to $30. Then she recalled the previous transaction and and added the new stuff and everything worked fine, but the lesson here is to add all those coupons if you get them even if you never plan on using them because some of them might work no matter what you buy.

This happened to me before - a zero total transaction gets no gas points - but if you call the telephone number on the website (related to gas points) they will put them back on.

You guys were right! I just went back and grabbed the sugar free Cool Whips which were $1.89 and rang in at $1. Ten Cool Whips, one Bagel Bites, and an Uncrustables gave me another $10 and I rolled my Ore Ida cat for more fries. Now, next week... ;)

A few things - went to a S&S before work to get a bagel and check out the stock on mama rosies and eddy's - Totally full so was happy and figured I'd go during lunch.... went during lunch and almost all the Ravioli's were GONE!! I really couldn't believe it. Someone had to do at least 5 or 6 transactions of 10 in order to have cleared that shelf. At least I found 3 bags of ravioli's and they had all the potato gnochi stuff. Almost all the edy's were gone too - must have a bunch of freezers whoever cleaned them out.

Wanted to tell people in case you didn't know, don't forget there are different prices in different areas sometimes. We spend all this time using coupons and sometimes it's almost a waste. For example... in smithfield where I am - next weeks circular says breyers will be 2for $6 and yoplait is 10 for $6. In the flyer I saw from a coworker today (in the warwick/cranston area) her breyers was $1.99 each and the yoplat was 10 for $5!!! So, I didn't look at everything else - but it makes me mad to see that.. If you live close, just make sure you check it out - that's a big difference if it's on a lot of things that you buy.

OK - going to do 1 more deal of something - I just didn't do enough and I always have non shopping guilt when the deals are over and I didn't get in on them enough.

Man those Eddy's take up a lot of freezer space!!! I just went into my chest freezer (almost literally) to get to the bottom and rearrange stuff - I found some kraft shredded cheese from the deal over a year ago (lol) and I found some TGIF meals from the target deal a long time ago. I told DH that I will not be buying anything else for the freezer until we start eating some of it - I have fish, pizza, hamburgers, pierogies, gyros etc which should last us a few weeks at least!!

Iwent back last morning around 10am and the Ravioilis and the other items for the promowere fully stocked. I was honestly shocked! I just did one more deal of Bertolli's bec thats all my freezer could handle :)

With instant savings once your coupons drop you below the amount needed it can (most likely) go away. You might wanna "forget" your coupons and bring them to cs after you pay.

Was it Smithfield that you went to at lunch? The Warwick/Cranston (really Cranston) store may have cheaper prices because of the grand opening. Typically I always see the same prices in RI stores but sometimes in MA, items are cheaper.

Great scenario that I wanted to do when I looked at the flyer (+ 2 Cheerios instead of 6 yogurts)... however, I can't get it to fly in my store because they won't reimburse me on 12 conveniently forgotten q's that need to be doubled to get around the instant saving method of deduction. No... instant savings will not deduct if you're total after sale prices and coupons drops before $30. Or sometimes it deducts and then adds it back after the total drops below $30. So you also have to take into account all your coupons. But if you happen to get it to work at the register, let us know ;) I wish these were a catalina! They are so much more fun.

dmprlat, not all greek yogurts are created equal. there really is a vast taste difference among brands. so, if you like regular yogurt, then you might want to shop around till you find a greek yogurt you like. cos they have great uses for dips, sauces, salads, sandwiches etc.

to wit, we eat organic yogurt only and love stonyfield plain fat free organic yogurt. it's thick and creamy, not too sweet, not too tart. awesome for us. but the stonyfield oikos? can't stand it. i tried and tried to like it, over several months, buying dozens of cups with coupons when it went on sale. i tried so many flavors and the plain one. nope. it's grainy and watery in my opinion - the opposite of what greek yogurt should be.

in contrast, before we went to all organic, i used to eat fage greek yogurt and really liked it. so... there.


one note... for those that can't find a good greek yogurt in stores, or a good price, but like it, greek yogurt is just strained yogurt - i.e. no whey. you can make that at home, very simply: just ladle plain yogurt into a cheesecloth. tie the cheesecloth around a fridge rack and put a bowl under. or if you have glass shelves, put the cheesecloth in a stainless steel steamer basket and put a pot under. that's it. let it drain in the fridge for several hours. and voila! you have thick, creamy, yummy greek yogurt whenever you want. blend in berries or honey, or use in dip, salad, spread recipes. bon appetit!

That happens to me sometimes, too. I used to think that it's reading the barcodes from one of the myriad other store cards on my keychain. Then I started using the larger card w/the magnetic strip and I realized the SCO is just crazy :lol:

OT but has anybody in S&S territory seen/found $1 sorrento blinkies at any of your other grocery stores? I've been searching online and they've been in Publix but I can't find where else they may be. I'm ISO these Qs and am willing to trade generously for these. TIA!

i had a h*ll of a time using those .55 catalinas from Land o lakes. every single one of them beeped and CS refused to honor them for me. i had to fight for them every time. i am soooo glad i only had 4 of them. registers ARE crazy at S&S a lot of the times for me.

Just got back from a quick run - price matched Cranston store on the strawberries and the yogurt. Mad because I only got 1 $2 cat back for the 20 yogurts I got, but whatever - I'm too tired (I didn't read to see if it was 10 or more, or if I should get one for each 10).

One thing I saw and was excited about was that the Jones Sausage had peelies on them for $2 off 2 all natural sausage. At first I was kind of bummed because I have to get the turkey ones for my little guy and He LOVES them, so I get them all the time..... then I realized I could use these. They are on sale for $1.67 each so $.67 each after the coupon. I thought it was pretty good. I took 2 extra peelies (kill me) in hopes that these may sometime go 10 for $10 at some point??

That is true, I edited my origanal post. Sorry, I thought she was talking about the "big" bags and not the single serve. I thought it was a different cat/sale combo I didn't know about. But I did realize it was for the single serve same deal as last weeks.

OMG watch out for that Paypower Visa!! I got one and it started charging me $5.95 (or something) per month after only 30 days! I thought there was a mistake and we were protected with the new credit card/gift card rules, but a with little research I discovered that the rules do not apply to rechargable cards. I recommend draining it asap.

they do the GM cereal deal a few times a year, and each time I've noticed qs pop up on the scan-it. so if you have a scan-it store near you go there if you're planning to do this deal. AND, after you scan the first item, walk away slowly from the cereal so you're still in the aisle but not far. it generally takes a bit for the scan-it to pop up the incentive to buy a second or third box. :lmao:
