Hey guys,
I frequent the freebies quite often and ran across a pretty good deal.
Feature Films For Families is giving away a free DVD in honor of their 20th year anniversary.
They let you pick from a few movies, and there isn't any strings attached.
I just filled out the order form and got my movie. I chose "Tiny Heros"
The movie was pretty good, at least my kids liked it alot!
Here is the URL I'd take advantage of it while you can.

It's not *illegal* when it's being done for those who want it done. There are plenty of movies I used to think "Oh wow that was actually a fairly decent movie for the family to watch except for..." and it was usually just one or two small things that I would rather have not been in the movie if my kids were watching!

This company has been showing their films in a local theater. Some of the proceeds go to our school district. My kids (boys 11 and 7) have loved the films we have seen so far and I'm looking forward to getting a DVD. Thanks.

You made it seem as if you request the title when submitting your information but this is not true. You made no mention of the fact that you must wait for the company to contact you in order to make your selection. Please include all relevant information when posting.

Well, it *is* illegal, judging from the fact that they were doing it *without* the consent of the movie companies, and they were then selling the resultant, derivative movie. Unless the MPAA moved to a Creative Commons or GPL style license, this is illegal, hence the massive lawsuit.

AGREED! I wish I had read further before I filled in my info. I want nothing to do with this company. That's what I get for not paying attention, lol.

Like you give a damn. I'm sure you're one of the millions of lowlifes who download movies/music illegally from the internet anyway. You're just pushing your usual anti-Christian BS that you spew in every thread involving traditional values or a Christian message.

I'm sorry that my pro-intellectual property rights stance confuses you. I am actually very pro-licensing, as without that the GPL, CC, and BSD licenses would be meaningless. I am not sure how my support of author's rights gave you the impression that I am anti-author's rights, I simply cannot follow the logic here, other than you are grasping at straws to make personal attacks.
I am also confused as to why you feel the need to attack me and claim I am pushing anti-christian anything here, or anywhere. I support honesty in posts, and I support fairness in ratings.
The only reason you seem to think I have an anti-christian bias is due to the fact that I push for fairness in posts and ratings and call the religious posters (and political ones) out when they say that we are not allowed to give a thumbs down on their post, simply because it is a religious post. The ratings are for ALL posts, and ALL deals, regardless if you feel your post deserves special rules, simply because it is *your* religion.
None of this is actually relevant to the thread at hand, but you seemed to want to discuss it.

I have wondered why there isn't a SAP in English with either the dubbing or the muting of naughty language. I could care less, but at the same time, I would prefer if my lil one doesn't go around mimicing some of what she hears.

I totally agree. Why can't they just take that crap out of the movie? It doesn't add any value to the movie, and would make the movie better without it.
Take "Facing the Giants".... Great movie, and no garbage. Same company is making a third movie, in theaters Sept. 26: "Fireproof"
http://www.fireproofthemovie.com
They have another movie, "Flywheel" (really good):

I thought Feature Films for Families produced their own movies? They don't take mainstream movies and censor them to their liking. They basically have their own production company that develops these movies.
However, once you become involved with them, they do tend to be a bit annoying with the telemarketing. They have pretty good movies for kids available.

The company that got in trouble was something 'Family Films' or something...

Thanks and repped. The phone call was painless. He asked who I was ordering the movies for, I told him my niece and nephew. I gave him their ages, and they are sending 2 movies with no obligation.
I ordered without reading the fine print; however, I can do a phone call for a free movie for my little niece..Thanks!

Please advise when you get your call.

Isn't this the criminal organization that got in trouble for selling unauthorized, edited copies of other people's movies?
Seems they pop up every once and a while around here and people point out their past, and their tendency to aggressively telemarket people.

Um...because the creators of the movies made them the way they wanted. To Directors, movies are their works of art, and to snip things out just because some people are offended by them is basically butchering their labor of love. If you dont like it or approve of it, steer clear of it. But dont expect others to cater to your level of standards. Im sure you wouldnt want anyone trying that on you. If you want rainbows and lollipops and sunshine and puppy dogs and perfect, smiley, completely skewed and unrealistic outlooks on life, go for Disney, or Pixar, or a production studio of the like. They are very family-friendly and should be fine for any child or uptight adult.
Perhaps im barking up the wrong tree. Can you give me an example of "that crap"?
Feature Films for FAmilies isn't the copyright folks- they do their own really cheesy films, if I remember correctly. They will try to hard sell you, and be really annoying on the phone,a nd try to get names of friends and family who "might appreciate good, morally clean movies," etc, etc etc ad nauseum. But ya'll are thinking of cleanflicks, which was one of the places that did edits, and MAn I wish they still did. Now I have to find other ways of getting to movies that are prefectly good "except for that one word" or scene they threw in jsut to get the PG13 rating. I have little kids, and one of the is obsessed beyond belief with Transformers... but couldn't go to the teater to watch the movie because, uh, he's six and I'm not doing that. But, after we previewed the movie, basically the high rating was there for one sentence and a couple of thrown in words, not the violence, which was geared towards robot on robot, not bloody or anything. Otherwise it would have been PG...and probably woulnd't have made as much money, which is why the filmakers go for the teen/adult market instead. Same with Iron Man... couple of words, one sex scene, if those are edited out, basically it's a PG movie, right?
So waht we really need are bootlegged copies of airline cuts or something. But until then, I've got to find another legal company to make me a copy of the new transformer's movie when it comes out, because my little Transformer addict loves his slightly chopped copy of the last film! I paid for it, the company I bought it from (not the one mentioned above) paid for it too, and worked to do the edit.
I wish the filmakers and copyright lawyers and companies would find a simple solution for parents who just want thier kid to be able to see the highly marketed and extremely profitable comic book character movies, sold heavily to children, but rated so they shouldn't see the films. There's probably a lot of folks out there who don't care if their kids come home with extra "new words" thrown into conversation, but as a mom who doens't swear, with a husband who doesn't either, and two little children who we're trying to teach manners to.. .well, it's a big frustration to miss whatever new "hero" movie because they throw in bad language to make it "cool" for fifteen year olds to go to. Sad world, right?
Ok, off soapbox...

There is a company you guys are thinking of, I believe it is clean flicks. They sell edited copies of commercial movies. They do this legally, because they buy one real copy of the movie for every edited movie that they sell. Or so their website says.
I for one, despise censorship. I
