Chatting with videogaming247, Realtime Worlds' main man Colin Macdonald admitted that "it was a horrible, horrible decision" to not jump right into development of a sequel to their super human sandbox game Crackdown, also confirming that the possibility for sequel love is still there.

"I don't think the door's closed," said Macdonald, "obviously, right now we're tied up with APB and everything else, but hopefully in the future we'll have the resource and something can be worked out with Microsoft. We would have loved to have seen it. We poured five years of our lives into that game. You know, we've got guys on the development team that have Crackdown tattoos, permanent tattoos on their arms. We're extremely passionate about it."

Wow, permanent Crackdown tattoos, eh? Someone at Realtime or Microsoft needs to green-light a Crackdown sequel just to pay respect to the dev team's tattooing. You can't let someone tattoo Crackdown on their arm and not make a sequel ... that's just blasphemy!

Doubtful.

The game wasnt much of a profit the first time around, so I doubt we will see a sequel.

Only reason it sold was because of the Halo 3 beta that came with it.

It's one of the best underrated co-op games out for the xbox 360. I'll definitely buy the second one if they make it

Yeah, but the game was hella short if you did it in co op -_-V

I never did finish finding the rest of the agility orbs, I had like 3 left lol.

The game just never clicked with me, I found it really boring.. it sold nearly a million copies but STILL didnt make much or a profit at all.. which says something.

Besides the Halo 3 beta, they didn't advertise it at all. I'm on the same boat with orbs, I didn't find all of them. If the game had some music or something to go with it, it would have been better. Thank god we can play music while playing a game.. because that one needed it.

Curious as to where you're getting your profit information from.

I really liked this game. I'd definitely buy a sequel.

When the game was released, they initially talked about doing a sequel (it sold 350k first week) but as the weeks went on it sold way less and less.

Eventually the company declined a sequel, saying it wasnt profitable, which means even though the game sold near 1 million units, it wasn't a success in the money terms.

Hence, why no sequel.

Ultimately, by the end of 2007, the game sold 1.5 million copies worldwide.

That's not true. At least from what I've read, they (Realtime Worlds) started working on a new project (APB, I presume) before MS asked for a sequel but I don't remember them saying anything about it not being (very) profitable. They didn't want to switch gears away from their new project to work on the sequel.

Maybe this time it will come bundled with a Halo 4 multiplayer Beta

That game was the shit!

I would definitely buy a sequel.

I didn't buy it for Halo 3 Beta, and played the beta like once.
I have all the achievements except for 1. I need one more orb
