We don't know how it happened, but the New Xbox Experience interface has been leaked to the webs and is, bit by bit, making its way to us in video format. One of the more interesting new features is the ability to install games to your console's internal hard drive. On display in this video: the installation (spoiler alert: it takes a while!), checking the memory footprint (spoiler alert: it's a whole DVD!), and launching the game (spoiler alert: you still need the disc in the drive!). Crap, we've spoiled the entire thing for you. If you can muster any interest in the video now, you'll find it after the break.

As long as it isn't required like on the PS3.. Nothing is more frustrating than popping in a brand new game and being all excited to play it, but wait, you must install first! Then when it's finally over, you must install an update to play this game.
So annoying!

completly optional.. its more like ur copying a iso of the disk on ur hd so the disk isnt spinning while ur playing.

I guess I don't get excited enough for my games then. I'm not really disappointed if I have to wait a couple minutes to install something... and the game updates are something all consoles have and is not unique to the PS3.
Assuming I have a big enough hard drive, I will be installing my 360 games.

ive only been playing online stuff ,i guess that doesnt count. unless the long install map modes is the same thing, i hate waiting for these maps to load, like COD4, i may be just impatient and cant wait a few seconds more though.

I wouldn't think your multiplayer games will load sooner but I guess it could shave a second or two off.
For me, this is great. I've been having trouble with my DVD drive for a while now where it will just stop reading the disk for no apparent reason. It gives me a disk read error, jumps back to the dashboard and all I have to do is select the game to start playing again.
The only issue is HD space. I saw this (probably the same one) video over the weekend and GTA:IV took up about 6.8 gb or so. Not too bad I guess but that's over half the 20gb's starting space. I'll probably only use this for the game I'm currently playing.
