I'd guess this has been suggested before, but it would be nice to be able to filter posts out of Hot Deals. Someone mentioned yesterday wanting to skip all the Dell ads (me too -- I have one). Similarly, I'd like to be able to filter out some posters.

I've noticed recently that there are a couple of posters who often post a dozen items a day, none of them of any great interest. Seems to me it wouldn't take very many of these folks to really mess up Hot Deals (imagine even 10 people who post that many little things every day). It would be helpful to be able to choose to filter them out -- probably easier said than done. Maybe a second layer to sort would help -- sort by posting date and then by poster. That would make the multi-posters easier to skip over.

Just a thought for the future.

add them to your ignore list (http://forums2.slickdeals.net/profile.php?do=editlist)

Thanks, Senor, that sounds like just what I was looking for. Now I've been looking around for more information about Ignore Lists and Buddy Lists, but can't find it (scanned through FAQ and User CP). Is there more information out there somewhere? I assume being on the Ignore list means I won't see any future posts from this person, but what happens with a Buddy?

Thanks.

buddy list is a useless feature of vb. ignore lists won't work for threads started by said person, you'll still see that. just in posts in threads it'll be a small line saying this post is hidden because so and so is on your ignore list, and with the options to view th post or remove them from the ignore list

I see that this morning. Aaargh, still there. So I'll renew my first suggestion: it would be lovely to be able to filter out the threads.

Thanks for the reply.

I definately agree with you. I would like to see the ignore functionality changed so it would filter out the person ignored. I actually started a thread on it a while back.
