I'm new here but thought this might be useful to share:
Last year on BF I called around my local stores (no Best Buy, Circuit City, Toys R Us) and asked if they match competitor prices. Walmart said yes! I got a 30G Zune (retail over $200) for $99 that was sold out at Radio Shack!
This year I just called two stores and was told they price match, even on Black Friday yet again! One store said it has to be local (20 miles or so they said...humm) the other said it has to match the other deal exactly (time frame, whatever else).
So that's were I hope to go to get my doorbusters as long as it's a product that. Walmart also carries the exact same model.

Best buy will also price match if
1) The item is the exact same thing (so MTK1234 is not the same as MTK1234R).
2) The other store must have the item in stock. They will call!
3) The other store must be B&M.

Best Buy will also lie about it! When Target had the 25 gift card with an Xbox, they 'called' Target, and nope, sold out! Except I called on my cell not five minutes after and sure enough...but there's another BB in town so I still got the deal and they never bothered to call

last year at the Walmart I went to they said they would NOT price match. I've never had any troubles years prior at other ones, so this might be a YMMV
btw I was price matching the Zune as well.. at least trying to

When I went to Walmart for the Zune price match the deal at Radio Shack included a carrying case for free. Walmart honored the $99 sale but not the free accessory. But still a great deal!

Yes. Wal--Mart will price match again this year. Just bring the Best Buy/CC/Target/K-Mart (LOL) add with you. It's a great way to get cheap DVD box sets, video games, dvd-r's, etc... But not so great for special computer packages, tv's, etc... because of the different part #'s you often encounter (some stores have special models made just for them so you can not price match).

You always have to have a reason for Best Buy.
They always want to ask, if Walmart or taget have in stock, why not buy it from them?
Always say, I wanna get Reward Zone Points, Best Buy Credit Card or I want to get the Service Plan. Even if you return their PRP's and PSP's the next day who cares. You got the item.

On black friday they do not price match. That is the only day they do not. Any other day of the year they do. If a store is price matching on black friday then they are not following company policy. Call a best buy and you will see they do not.

Just a word to wise, WalMart pulls from it's shelves items that it feels might put it at risk for price matching. For example, if they carry a movie that is offer in ad by another store within a certain mileage radius, and it is offered more cheaply than they care for, they will remove them all from the shelves and put them back to avoid the loss on the sale.

I don't know. Perhaps nothing. But I like to know ahead so I can plan to go to Walmart if I find a great deal for BF. Besides, I'd want to make sure they stock the product I am interested in.
Good luck with the laptop. They are certainly getting more affordable.

Now that's awesome. Matching a price on BF is great. Offering a 110% guarentee is amazing. Perhaps I should look into this at my nearest Sears. It's 45 minutes away, but for the right deal if could be worth it.

Walmart is YMMV.
Last year, I called one of my local stores about price matching and they said they would not do it on BF (called Thanksgiving evening). While checking out, the woman in front of us in line was having items price matched. After waiting in a line at CC that was not moving, we grabbed the ad and took it over to WM. Found a cashier that was price matching another customer, then when it was our turn she was price matching but a supervisor came over and told her that they weren't allowed to that day. They allowed us to finish our order (so long as the item was exactly as in the ad, during the time frame, and had to be a price not a percentage), but the cashier was not allowed to PM after us.

So... if Best Buy has HellBoy 2 for a few bucks cheaper - Wal-Mart will hide all copies of the movie?

I just saw a TV Commercial saying that Walmart pricematches all sale ads "Yes, even on the Friday after Thanksgiving." I was quite surprised that they PM BF stuff. BB always told me they don't pricematch BF deals. So, that make WM way better in my eyes.

Isn't it ironic how this thread gets a thumbs down, while the other Wal-Mart thread gets a thumbs up?

I was just wondering about this myself. Is this a friendly place for new people to join in? :(
I know I am deterred.
