Not home theater systems, but recording gear - mics, preamps, compressors?

Are you referring to the likes of Musicians Friend, zzounds, Music123, Guitar Center, etc...?

If so, I don't think they usually have anything special other than their weekly ads (of course that seems to be the case everywhere this year :() I think the most you'll see is a 10-15% coupon or $15 off $100.

I have been looking for these as well and i dont think the SD community really cares about these products. There are almost never any of these items posted in the regular audio section, so why would they post them for BF. SDers like their big tvs and computer parts primarily, no music stuff for them.

Ha! Pricematch music123 at Guitar Center, and buy gift cards off eBay with live cashback...

If you're looking for a discount at Guitar Center, I just exchanged a Mackie Onyx mixer for some GC cards... I would be willing to list the exact dollar value you want in eBay for 10% less than the face value of the card with buy it now...

Add 8% live cashback.

And, let's see, you might be able to come up with a GC coupon and I would give you a 10% discount -- I got a little extra money on the cards so I could do it. The guy wanted to buy the mixer from me using his GC credit card, so I accommodated him.

Just an idea, if you know what you want. Make GC price match music123 with their 15% off and free shipping plus the 10% discount on the total value of the card (up to the $735 that I have) you would be doing really well.

So your final price on an item that is $500 at music123 would be:

$500 -15% = $425 (dollar amount you pay at Guitar Center before tax by pricematching music123, just as an example)
$425 -10% = $382.50 (amount you pay me)
$382 -8% = $351.90 (amount you actually pay after live.com gives you $30 a couple months later).

Just one way to get a discount on your musician gear. Of course, you could just hunt craigslist and get a real steal if you're lucky... good luck
