I just signed up, and am awaiting the response email, but in three places on the site it says you must order something to get the free pizza. Attached.

I guess we shall see.

Well I got my code, and was able to order just the free medium pizza without having to order another pizza. The actual item showed up on the order summary as:
FREE Medium Cheese Pizza with any online purchase
Medium Original Crust
So I added two toppings and two garlic dipping sauces for $4 and changes. This way they can't say I didn't make an online purchase. And at $4+, they are still making a profit anyway!
Hopefully they won't give me a problem at pickup....

Also, while the codes are one time use only, you don't actually have to have a facebook account or verify the email. Just sign up a bunch of times with disposable email addresses, and check them in about an hour. Mailinator.com is your friend.

i just did it and i added a pizza at the begining and then removed it at the end right before i payed and it went through like a charm. I'm eating my free pizza right now as i type. I didn't have to buy anything else. $0

Certain areas have the $3.99 minimum. Last night my friend in San Diego was able to place a carryout order for just $1.83 (1 extra topping), but when I tried it here for several locations in Orange County, it said there was a minimum of $3.99.

Wouldn't go with delivery for under 6.99. DH wanted wings if I was ordering pizza, so that's how it went in our house. Not so much of a deal anymore, but I wanted pizza anyway.

A minimum of $2.99 carryout for the local Papa-John's, so I just added two toppings (didn't want a cheese pizza anyway) and dipping sauce. Worked online; I'll pick up the pizza in a few hours.

Should work for delivery, except I was quoted a $10 minimum for that option.

I got another code of PJMEDIUM upon payment, good for the next seven days, for a free medium cheese pizza with pizza purchase. At the website it just said pizza purchase; The e-mail confirmation lists the same code but specifies a three topping requirement (or words to that effect). So, I don't know what purchases this might work with.

Minimum $3.99 purchase required for me. I added a second medium pizza, deleted the initial one and added a 20oz Sierra Mist & 1 pizza sauce. $4.32...pretty good deal. Thanks OP.

If you actually attempted it, you would have found out that while it is marked on the site and in the email like that, when you go to use it, you don't have to purchase anything else. While I added two toppings to mine, I had it in my cart at $0 total and could have ordered it plain for free. And even if that wasn't the case, free with purchase is still worth reps.

So dh just got home with the free breadsticks(yum) and our 7 free topping $9.99 Ravens pizza which I thought would weigh at least 10 lbs. Very disappointed, but oh well will deal with it in the a.m. Already repped, just ranting a little.

FYI- I tried to redeem this free medium coupon online (as well as the free cheesesticks code) as a delivery and was told that they would only deliver with an order for $12 or more. The pizza and cheesesticks may be free but in my area (AZ) you still have to purchase other products to get it delivered.

I'm going to try ordering it for pickup tonight instead.

Oh, and I also discovered that once you enter your cheesetick code, you can't enter it again (or any of the other codes given). I entered it for my online order, then had to back out of that order and try again. When I tried again, it said the cheesestick code had already been entered but it wasn't showing up on my checkout list. Oh well. Live and learn.

I still think this is a great deal, but now I know I have to go pick up this great deal.

Did anyone else have this problem?

I did this last night and snacked on FREE pizza and FREE cheesesticks. I love their cheesesticks!!! OP and mommyforella deserve massive reps for this.

Even if you have a minimum, you are paying much less for what you are getting, hence the title of the board being SLICKDEALS. It's not OP's fault Papa John's won't let you have a free order like Domino's did with that free pizza code.

KKD, check your history and see if you can find the original code that way. If not, you can check the Wiki link and get another.

FYI you cannot combine the cheese sticks coupon code with the free pizza coupon, it tells you only one promotion code allowed in cart

I got a free medium and ordered some banana pepper's on the side on Tuesday night (54 cents total) and then on Wednesday medium pizza with half sausage ($1.34) .... the guy gave me a strange look and said "You must be hacking into the online system, your supposed to buy a pizza to get one free"..... of course I played dumb and said you guys are the ones that emailed me the coupon...LOL...walked out with my el-cheapo dinner...thanks OP

My order came to $17.83 including tip for delivery. Not bad I guess...I am at work and I can't really leave and get food. So I am stuck with delivery options and I figured I would try this.

Got a small the works pizza for $11.99 and the free pizza. I called the store though and I should have just gotten their $9.99 pizza, and then they have a $2 delivery charge on their order. But after tip I would have paid just like $2 less for only one pizza.

My understanding is EVERY PJ has a minimum for delivery (doesn't every pizza place these days?) Only some have a minimum for carry-out.
