I'm looking to get a complete new set of appliances for a home I recently purchased. I'm wondering if anyone else has been looking for appliances and if they know of any slick deals that I'm not already aware of.

Here's what I think is decent so far:

1. Sears (25% of all Kenmore Elite) - This is probably the best "deal" in terms of total $ off, but these appliances are still very pricey.

2. Home Depot ($430 total off set of Maytag stainless steel appliances, including range, fridge, microwave and dishwasher). You're saving about 17% here with the total set. I just checked out these appliances at my nearby HD tonight and they seemed a bit "cheap". Still looks like an OK deal but not great by any means.

3. Lowes ($625 rebate off total set of Whirlpool "fake" stainless steel appliances). Price without rebate is $2172, so you're getting the whole set for $1547 and saving 29% here so the deal looks great right now. I plan to check out this set tomorrow at my nearby Lowes and I'll update this post with details. It is the "phony" stainless steel so I'm expecting to be dissapointed. But eh, for this price what can you expect.

For lowes deal:

http://a.slickdeals.net/attachment.php?attachmentid=142731&d=1227492247

See attached images for HD and Sears deals.

So, my question is, does anyone know of any other good deals on appliances (either whole sets or piece-meal)?

Thanks!

This is also relevant to my interests.

If this has been addressed elsewhere, please link to that place. But I'm looking for new appliances (pretty much everything) because I'm in the process of buying my first home.

how about these?
Frigidaine Front-Load Washer & Dryer - $999.98
Frigidaine Over-The-Ranger Microwave - $199.99
Frigidaine Silver Dishwasher - $199.99
Frigidaine SmoothTop Electric Range - $399.99
- from bestbuy blackfriday, i heard these are pretty crappy but i dont know anything about appliances. So which brand is the best aside from kenmore elite since the price already tells me its the best lol. Also, was the stainless steel look whirlpools good ? did they look as good as the real stainless steel?

I sell appliances at lowes and I would rather go with Whirpool. The Stainless look does not look as good as the stainless does but there isn't as much up keep to them since they do not get the smudges and finger prints like the stainless does.

I was going to say buy Lowes gift cards, you get $20 for every $100 you spend and purchase your kitchen set that way. So basically, you get another $400 to spend in store freely!

I'm looking at a complete set of Kenmore Elite kitchen appliances on Black Friday. Any opinions on these - they are pricey, but they have the best style (clean lines) of any that we looked at in person.

Anyone know if they will be offering anything more than the 25% off in the near future (rebates etc ...). With the economy in the dumper you would think we would see better than 25% ;)

The Lowes kitchen set of appliances for $1547 look very nice in person. It is the "looks like stainless steel" finish, but I seriously don't get why people think stainless steel is that great to begin with or why it matters even if it is real stainless steel or a finish to make it look like it. I'd rather buy a set that's black, but for this price I'd take black/stainless steel appearance. At least in this set, the black/silver look very nice together. Plain old regular stainless steel that people blow their load over just doesn't look that much better and isn't worth nearly what people pay. Unless you are replacing the appliances before putting your house on the market.... I REALLY don't get the lovefest people have for SS appliances.

Yes, and you are limited to $60 rebate (3 $100 gift cards) per address so you would need to seperate your transactions and use multiple addresses. Depending upon the rebate conditions, you could sweeteen this even more by using a 10% coupon.

$2172 - $217.20 (10% coupon)
= $1954.80 - $625 (rebates)
= $1329.80 - $60 back in future GC's (buy and use 3 $100)
= $1269.80

Anyone know if bestbuy will be having any sales on their appliances?

We just found a stainless LG microwave to match the Kenmore Elite stove, fridge, and dishwasher and was wondering if that will be sale on Friday? The model we liked is not sold at Sears so we have to buy elsewhere.

Thanks!

Don't forget to check your utility companies for appliance rebates. I have Teco gas and the sent me a $100 rebate for sending in a copy of my SS gas stove purchase. I know that Teco offers rebates on applainces and water heater replacements. Took 2-3 weeks to get the check. Electric utilities may offer energy star rebates.

Interesting. I didn't know about this rebate deal at Lowes. Where can I read about this? In-store only? Is the $20 per card instant rebate or mail-in?

Also, I do have a 10% coupon but I'm wondering if the use of it will void the rebate offer from Whirlpool on this. Any ideas?

How to get this 10% coupon? Thanks

You can get them emailed to you for free from Lowes moving website (once per email addy). It does take a few days to receive it though so your best bet would be to buy one with "instant delivery" from eBay. Make sure it is still valid at Lowes though since they are one time use coupons.

The $20 rebate deal is in the Lowes ad which you can find here or at various other BF ad sites. The appliance deal is not in most of them though so here are the scans of that page. It doesn't list any exclusions in the ad but I would check the terms in-store first. If it's coming from Whirlpool instead of Lowes, I doubt there would be any issues.

I agree wholeheartedly. My preference is white. The other thing is that people never talk about is that stainless steel shows fingerprints and smudges really bad. If you have any kids, stainless steel is a pain in the arse to keep looking nice.

I just picked up the LG LSC27910TT (Titanium Finish) for $849.10 + tax from Home Depot yesterday.
Fry's had this model for $999.00 (Home Depot Price is $1299). I had them PM Fry's for extra 10% off to bring it to 899.10. I didn't have the mover's coupon, but you could also use it for this deal for an extra 10% off. Also, for So. Cal. Residents, they have a $50.00 instant rebate from So Cal Edison, so it brought the price to $849.10.

Take advantage of PMs if you can, Saved me an extra $150 under Fry's price, and $450 under Home Depot's price.

Is it possible that Fry's doesn't sell their appliances online due to shipping costs? I'm just guessing cuz I've never been to one of their actual stores before.

If you hurry up you can get 20% of Kenmore items (they have the discounts up early) PLUS the 15% mail-in rebate that ends at midnight. I went to the store today to check out some appliances to buy on Friday, and the lady was already putting up the sale signs on the kenmore products. 20% on normal kenmore and 25% on kenmore elite. Then she was like, "you know we still have the 15% going through the end of today, so you can get 35 or 40%". I had to pull the trigger. Got an elite microwave and regular kenmore range, fridge, and dishwasher. Note that the 15% rebate doesn't work on dishwashers (edit, apparently there's another rebate form for ELITE-only dishwashers for 15% - too bad my washer wasn't elite model).

But you need to use a SEARS card to get the extra 15%. I applied for one tonight and was immediately approved, but they would not give me my CARD number tonight for security reasons. It looks like I will miss the sale. They would not give the extra 15% if I use my own personal credit card. Grrrrrrrrrr, so close! Any suggestions?

No I'm pretty sure the SEARS card is only required for the no-interest, no-payment for 12-months thing. I used my own credit card so I could get the free delivery instead. Nobody said anything to me about needing the SEARS card for the 15% rebate.

My receipt still has the 26th on the top, so I'm assuming I'm all good. I started saving items to my cart before midnight (eastern). Do you know when can we can begin submit our rebates online? I'm still waiting for my conf email.

If this all works, this deal was much better than the one on Friday morning. Plus I don't have to fight any crowds.

I already submitted my receipts on the rebate website. I suppose once you get the confirmation email you can do the same. Read the FAQ for into on online rebate submissions (https://www.mysearsrebate.com/faqs.aspx)

Yeah we lucked out that they started the sale prices tonight. That enabled us to get the additional 15% rebate that ended today (the 26th) as well as the 20% kenmore blackfriday discount. Pretty sweet not having to deal with the crowds :) I'm kind of confused though because on Sears website it currently says that all kenmore (including elite) is only 20% off, but when I got my Elite microwave it was 21% off (Which also confused the lady because she thought it was 25% too and did a price override for me to add an additional 4% discount). So I'm not sure if the prices they have online right now are the "true" blackfriday prices (although I saw that the 25% off elite only goes from 5AM to noon), but the deal we got (35 or 40%) is gonna beat anything they have on BF anyways.

Yeah it all depends on what timezone the website is on I guess. If it sends you a receipt that says "purchase time" was within the 26th, then you should be fine. Risk you might want to take. I suppose you could always cancel the order otherwise.

Oh I will, but I'd say I'm 99.9% sure you don't need to use a Sears card for the rebates (either for the 15% or the free delivery/haul away). I mean, even if you go to Sears website here (http://www.sears.com/shc/s/v_10153_12605_Appliances?adCell=A3) you see that it only mentions the Sears card for the 12 months of no-interest and no-payments.

That's right. Some of the models have gotten bad reviews from members on this site, but consumer reports rates them pretty high. We shall see.

I couldn't pass up the deal last night, 20% off immediately, then an extra 15% off with mail-in-rebate. Came out to ~32% off the original price for all my appliances :D

Keep in mind the BF deal is only 25% off with no mail-in-rebate available.

Sounds good.

anyone know where I can get a Lowe's coupon by tomorrow morning? I decided to buy some stuff and would love to add an extra 10%

I just verified that the 15% rebate that ended Wednesday does not require a Sears CC. We're fine.

I bought the Lowes kitchen appliance set for about $1000 (after mail in rebates). Bought gift cards ($20 gift card for every $100 purchased gift card) and then mail in rebate of $625 they're currently offereing, and an additional 10% off w my coupon brought it to just over $1000 (after figuring up my gift cards). To top it off, I got my samsung washer + dryer last week for $856 w. tax.

Yeah the Lowes deal was a great one. I was seriously considering it until I realized that I couldn't swap out a gas range for the electric with that set. That would have taken away about 200 in rebates. I ended up going with 35% off Kenmore at Sears.

But you're right, if you have another 10% coupon along with the gift card rebates you're talking nearly 50% off. That's just silly.

I did the gift card rebate myself today since I know I'll need them soon.

Greenmile,

Good news is that my order finally processed, bad news is that I have to wait until Dec 18 for delivery :(

Did you check your rebate status online? Does your say something to the effect of waiting for the 30 day return period to expire? If so is this normal?

Thanks,
Joe

Greenmile,

Did you get your appliances delivered yet? After all this waiting, mine are coming this Saturday :)

I still think we got the best deal we are going to see for some time!
